A SAPPHIRE Costume | Making a Drag Costume!

  • Here is a run through of the costume I made for Ottawa drag queen, Sophia Sapphire! The theme for the costume was blues and rhinestones (hence the queen's name lol).
    There was a lot that went into the harnessing and small pattern pieces for the shapes of the base of the costume. I tried to show some of it in the video, but I didn't want to make the video too long. If you have any questions about how I went about it or any steps in the process, leave a comment below!

    Mina Gerges is a designer with an interesting pattern making process. He wraps himself in shrink wrap and duct tape, almost creating a very tight cast of his body shape. He cuts it off and creates his pattern from this, his pieces end up fitting really nicely.
