The 67 911R is so rare that the only other time I've even seen pictures was an old Road & Track article from back in the early 70's. The one here is a real treasure. Porsche should do a whole series just on this man and his collection.
Thank you so much, Porsche. Some of these turned a wheel in anger long before I was born and it's great to see them leap out of the pages of my childhood Porsche books and be driven for people to enjoy. It was a blue 930 Turbo that spun the head of four-year-old me on my way to preschool and to this day I know the exact spot on the exact road that even took place. I've loved Porsche's ever since and the Turbo has always been the dream. One day...
You know when the love started for Porsche? I was 5 years starting the Porsche unleashed game on ps1. And when it makes impact on a practically undeveloped human brain you know you made something good..
I was about to comment this was a great video as usual, but then i saw at the end the 930 turbo, literally my favourite car ever. You’re the best Porsche!
*"all porsche models have in common, is the sound" unless* it's the 718 Cayman and boxsters :( please bring back the slower but glorious sounding naturally aspirated flat 6 to them! I rather drive a 2 .7 or even smaller flat 6 than the flat4 turbo. I'm willing to get cylinder deactivation and have garbage HP (ok that's going too far but) than for it to be replaced, im not an engineer but is it possible to turbo charge a very small flat 6 instead, maybe a 2.4 + a small turbo? If even rather have that...still won't sound the same but better than current by far. This is coming from someone who drove the 718 for a week, fell mad in love, and almost signed the papers, until hearing and driving the 981 right before signing the 718 because I thought "hm, why not give the a try?" It blew me and the 718S boxster I was trying absolutely away.
you're absolutely right, I'm not even sure why I typed v4, type v too much since most cars are V engines! Im glad I bought the last possible Cayman GTS in my country. the flat 6 howl being so close to the driver feels exhilarating and makes your heart beats fast (except the car isn't too fast haha, it puts a big smile on my face, but could really use more power)
You dont have to ask that on Porsche, ask on your government. The sound problem you solve way easily than a performance problem. I even think if the car had the flat 6 the car would lost his light cost due to the tax on emissions and would still lack the performance of the turbos
Gabriel Alves ?? The only conclusion i can arrive to is because you never drove one. If you didn't? You wouldn't think this way. As for the government and laws, there exists emission taxes or extra green taxes that I'm willing to pay for just for that flat 6 regardless. It's not like I'm complaining that the government wants to incentivize green friendly vehicles? Not sure why you even bring them up. I'm willing to pay more to get less because it's unique. Speed is the most overrated aspect of sports cars. It's not the factor that makes you feel good. Granted it needs to be somewhat faster than typical cars. I would pay easily 30% more for a naturally aspirated flat 6, or any natural engine at this point, not because of performance, they will always be worse, but just about the way they drive and sound. That smoothness, the progressive feeling, and the progressive soundtrack, instead of a monotone emotionless 4 cylinder. Even one cylinder natural bikes sound more progressive and better.
Usually camera chase cars will be pick ups or SUVs. In this case it could have been a Cayenne, altough I have seen some Panamera Camera Cars too. If you thought it has to be a Turbo S because of the Speed, I guess there are some camera tricks involved to make the shots look pretty fast.
+Porsche the 917/30 in Qualifying Trim produced an insane 1580bhp thats enough power to cause any race driver to cry to his mummy and enough torque to restart a dead star....that 917/30 is without doubt worthy of the title it got from the Americans "The Can-Am Killer", I doubt anyone would drive that car again, it had enough power to leave 2 black strips of rubber from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, thats how much power it really had, I bet if you rebuild that engine to modern specs I bet it would be north of the 2000bhp mark....
I always thought that a sports car could be driven to work during the week and raced on the weekend. Although we all love the 917, it's a racing car, pure and simple.
is the red flatnose/flachbau 911 at 1:13 somekind of special edition? it looks awesome i would really appreciate if anybody can shed some light on that
The tail was down to allow for a better packing of the intercooler. Look at the 935 if you wanted to see what a real down force oriented tail looks like. Also, considering how laggy the first turbo was, that tail was more than happy to step out, with or spoiler or not.
I love Porsche , my deepest dream is have a Porsche, 1:42,me too I love original classic cars and I don’t like the people who “crushes” classics (& modern) cars
We need an episode just on Johan's garage!
The sound of 917 is simply fantastic!
Rename:Top 5 models that you can't afford
My reviews:
1. Wow!

PORSCHES BEST VEHICLES ON THE PLANET!!!
AC R they are really good. Not best. What about italian horses dude ?
prateek singh unreliable and overrated, I'd take a Porsche over any Italian car.
@@prateeksingh1284 German horse is always the best. The Italien is overrated.

Thank you very much, this was the best episode so far
watching this ... i became very emotional ... it brought me to tears ... Nothing nothing can compare to Porsche ...
I've never heard a turbocharged V12 sound like a beast.
But 917 was a cars which surprised me with its sound
Dat engine noise! I got goosebumps...
Thank you so much, Porsche.

One day...
I just love how the 917 screams.
It doesn't - they've put sounds of the 917K from 19Bozzy92 and some other fake sounds in this video. It sounds closer to a 962.
You know when the love started for Porsche? I was 5 years starting the Porsche unleashed game on ps1. And when it makes impact on a practically undeveloped human brain you know you made something good..
I want to see Porsche in F1
I was about to comment this was a great video as usual, but then i saw at the end the 930 turbo, literally my favourite car ever. You’re the best Porsche!
Wow. That '67 911 R looks stunning. Sounds great to...
1995 911 gt2
As a Porscher in love with the 911 2.7 RS, the 959, and many many others, discovering the 911 R is tremendous!
Das 911 R is göttlich!
The 917 is a total beast!

ZDY The 718 has a flat 4 not a v4. But I share your opinion. ^^

Porsche have something special to relate to in case of flat four. Its original racing Porsche 718. The winner of 1959 Targa Florio.
The sounds is like a sinfony...amazing!
Awesome.. just awesome..

U should have included the Carrera GT as well.

Awesome video once again!
Amazing how that 911R is 50 years old and it is the same design that current modifiers like Singer are trying to replicate

that voice over guy is incredibly corny. I feel like I'm talked to like a child...
TheTwalk Agreed

Galaxy ever heard of sarcasm?
Think it's just the way Americans talk.

This is only true for the 3.3 model turbos, the first turbo models dont have an Turbocooler
Hmmmm great video but um for me I only saw three
Even if you count the modern 911R and classic 911R as separate there are still only 4

This is not a children's show it's a UA-cam video; own it!
Please let me narrate. I think this guy used to voice over for dubbed martial arts movies as the wimpy sidekick.
