Petrolheads Jean Pierre Kraemer and Benjamin Marjanac took a sound-level meter to the secret warehouse of the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen to discover the all-time hits in the Porsche playlist.

928 still looks modern.A true stunning design classic.
Two years late but I kinda disagree/agree lol I think the 928 simultaneously looks amazing and quite dated... But with that said I can only imagine what it would have looked like in 1977 when it debuted, omg like compare it to any car from 1977 and it looks like a fucking space ship lol, its absolutely insane how far ahead of it's time the 928 was.

The thing about Decibels is that each decibel more is double of the previous value so that makes the change in value quite small but the "loudness" difference is huge!
Every 6 decibels is a doubling in total sound energy, but perceived loudness is a whole different matter, and very hard to measure

It has an awesome sound. But it's quiter.
Most race tracks have noise limits now. For example Nürburgring has a 130db noise limit.
It's about 130dB. It was the loudest car at LeMans last year.
I would imagine over here at Daytona where there arent any noise regulations it would be the loudest

This car was not able to be homologated because porsche couldn't make the numbers so it ran as a prototype and was second place at le mans between two french mantra prototypes where they had unlimited french government funding.... Very impressive... And what's impressive about RWB? Exactly.... And I've never heard of a Purist give a RWB a pass just because it had a heritage livery.. Sounds like that guy is trying to please both worlds but ended up standing for nothing..........

@@hansdietrich83 Porsche are moving to hybrids and by 2024, most of the lineup will be hybrids or 4 cylinder or even 2 cylinder turbocharged which sound absolutely terrible. Look at the sound difference between the naturally aspirated or even the air-cooled engines versus the 4 cylinder turbos.
The reasoning is that Porsche are having to adhere to emissions and other SJW related legislations but that is killing the soul and essence of the Porsche sports cars, the sound and the fury of those sublime engines. That is gradually being phased out and that's incredibly sad.

I love porsche and they are on the best way of implimenting electric mobility into the current sports car world. They don't build overpriced hatchbacks or go a bit too far like tesla.

That 804's flat-8 is THE best sounding 8-cylinder engine I have ever heard. Almost like a cross between a traditional cross-plane V8 and a flat-plane V8....absolutely beautiful.

As Rodran said, you have to know the history behind these two.
Basically, Benjamin is the guy who gives JP (very famous German Tuner/ TV Host/ UA-camr) access to all sorts of crazy porsche models. In 2018, JP received a new porsche from the museum to drive every month (not just for videos, also daily driving). We’re not talking Cayman S or Boxster, more like 918 and upwards.
Porsche are not the only ones doing this; Audi actually started by letting him hop into prototypes like the TT clubsport turbo, with that story ending all the way with him driving that car next to an S1 on pikes peak. He also drove the Vision GT car on the Nordschleife.
TL;dr:
This is more of an insider-fan-edition than a normal top 5 video, as the guy is only really known in Germany and both are really good friends.
I'll add that he also has a LOUD personality so in this case it makes sense.

Ich sehe nicht die klare Linie von Porsche. Einerseits wollen sie seriös wirken und Skripten das Video. Andererseits stellen sie zwei positiv abgedrehten Vögel dort hin die hirnrissige Messungen durchführen.

Bei dem Punkt, dass die Messungen hirnrissig sind, muss ich dir ebenfalls zustimmen, da die Messungen aufgrund wechselnder Umgebung und anderer äußerer Einflüsse alles andere als normgerecht sind.
