I'm not sure how familiar you are with Donahue's style but that was his style. He constantly played devil's advocate, interrupted people, tried to insert jokes. She most most certainly did . Then again , after having watched this , Donahue’s emotional and intellectual depth is comically shallow. This was beyond cringe to watch. I’m 51 . I somehow recall Donahue as this empathetic , kind , open - minded talk show host when I was young. He possessed very little of those qualities. As for most of the audience members ? A combined IQ score of about 7 points.
