About Richard Jewell (2019):
“There is a bomb in Centennial Park. You have thirty minutes.” The world is first introduced to Richard Jewell as the security guard who reports finding the device at the 1996 Atlanta bombing-his report making him a hero whose swift actions save countless lives. But within days, the law enforcement wannabe becomes the FBI’s number one suspect, vilified by press and public alike, his life ripped apart. Reaching out to independent, anti-establishment attorney Watson Bryant, Jewell staunchly professes his innocence. But Bryant finds he is out of his depth as he fights the combined powers of the FBI, GBI and APD to clear his client’s name, while keeping Richard from trusting the very people trying to destroy him.

Richard Jewell should have an honorary grave site to recognize his heroics and quick thinking
Poor guy never got a break. ☹
I’ll drink to that! We salute you Richard!🙌🏻
The fact that there is still not one marker or monument to this man's bravery in Centennial Park is an absolute travesty. For F's sake, there's a George Floyd monument but nothing for Richard Jewell.
@@mikewilliams7985 ok and
@@KingSG_ one was a hero, one was not
Every year before his death jewel placed a rose at the site for Alice Hawthorne. He always blamed himself for her death. He wished he had found the Bomb sooner.
The fact that hollywood and the media disliked this film just adds truth to it
? Kathy Bates was nominated at the Oscars for her performance
So?
Except it's at like an 7-8/10 on most sites.
It has a 76 on rotten tomatoes & had an oscar nomination; what are you talking about? Why are people upvoting you lol
@@danparadis3810 people aren't upvoting him it's Hollywood and the media.
Richard Jewell was a HERO. What the media did to him was an absolute disgrace
and the fbi
Ya that's what the whole movie is about, who are you preaching to brother the choir? 😅
I watched this movie last night and really liked it. It's nice to see an accurate representation of how horrible the media is.
Except it wasn't terribly accurate, Eastwood making stuff up about the one reporter hurt the movie's performance...
Imagine how bad it would have been for him if Facebook existed back then...😮
@@melaniemills4505 thats true...medias garbage this is why i dont use fakebook and news...
I saw this movie in the theater when it first came out, only clint eastwood movie I saw in the theater.
@@Seek1878 actually many reports say it was accurate. The media is just upset about the facts
This movie was so hard to watch ... Cried the entire time.... Richard Jewell directed traffic out of my elementary school when I was a kid..... He loved his job and he loved kids..... He was always dancing and making faces and waving, all while directing traffic, kind of putting on a show for all the kids as we would leave..... You just knew that he had an incredibly kind heart, so sweet and pure, and just full of joy..... They killed him..... The media and the government killed Richard Jewell..... One of the nicest men this planet has probably ever seen.
Indeed. Every police officer who is dedicated to his profession should be appreciated. Especially serving the community and the people. Especially We The People. Something the government could hardly ever do to almost not even do. That being why there should be more outsiders with common sense to be in the government, not with “political experience” let alone “political correctness”. Plus, that also being why more people join the military, militias, and even the police force (state, county, and local), instead of the governmental level of law enforcement, because the governmental level is way too politicized. Richard Jewell is one example, having the right idea, when it’s comes to joining the field of law enforcement, to join the sheriff’s department or even local police department.
Also, when I have children myself, I hope to name one of my boys Richard. Richard Allensworth Harris. In his honor, that being after him. Even after my Uncle Richard, who served in the Army. He passed away just over a week ago.
That black lady at the end was Alicia Hawthorne, one of two people who died that night and the only person who died as a direct result of the bomb. It could have been way worse, but it's so sad that that lady who was wanting to enjoy the Olympics with her daughter had her life cut short like that. I'm sure Jewel probably regretted that he wasn't able to save her as well until the day he died.
He did. He openly stated that he wished he had found the bomb sooner and perhaps saved her life. Just like most heroes in tragic situations.
I'm surprised the media didn't claim racism being that she was black
Every year he would put a rose at her grave until the day he died
I can't believe they thought he planted the bomb. This man did his job by saving a lot of people
A shining example of the police/FBI's tunnel vision
@@BillyButcher90 they owe him a lot
@JonnyKay-co4xc Well it shows how biased they were and their refusal to admit they were wrong.
Well they were saying he had a hero complex and did it to "become a hero" which is a real thing that some people do. But this guy wasnt one of those people, even though he was made out to be
@stevenrodan5160 yeah but there's people that care
I think a plaque or a park should be named after him. This is in honor of him saving all those lives and the heartache he went through for doing the right thing.
A few years ago they did finally put a memorial to Jewell in the spot where the tower was.
"A Hero. Not the Hero we deserved; But the Hero we needed. Nothing less than that."
-Jim Gordon, The Dark Knight.
Richard Jewell, the Hero we needed; but didn't deserve.
This scene is Spectacular
The way the police handled it was not. As soon as they knew their were pipe bombs inside they should have evacuated every single person. Not set up some bs perimeter 10 ft from the bomb
I'm a security guard, this mans story expires me and taught me anything can happen when you least expect it don't get too comfortable.
Inspires*
Expires means it kills you.
Thanks for what you do, man

Ah yes
Just watched this last night. Fantastic movie! One of Eastwood's best, imo.
I saw this film in the theater. It's the first Clint eastwood I saw in the theater.
My grandmother ran into the guy in real life
sarah movie reviewer they ruined his life.
@@foofy3406 I know I was just making a statement
@@sarahmoviereviewer4109 Did she say what he was like?
Did she recognize him when they met?
The one lesson that I learned from this Incredible Film is to be careful, because sometimes people along with Media Can and WILL take your Words and Actions the Wrong way.
DON'T TRUST THE FBI, MEDIA, AND TRUST NO ONE.
All these years I never knew that was the full expression of “Get the Lead Out” lol
A true American hero. I’d love to shake this man’s hand. He died doing what he loved ❤
Best part was when his attorney asked if he owned any firearms. He looked at him with an expression are you nuts? “This is Georgia “
When people tell me they don't believe that the media or the government lies to people or twist the truth I just tell them research Richard Jewell
If I ever have a son one day, I hope to name one Richard. In honor of Richard Allensworth Jewell.
Imagine: Richard Allensworth Harris.
This movie was so awesome. I loved it. Legit icredible acting.
This guys a hero
Everytime i go to one of those see something say something saftey meetings i think of richard jewel
Richard Jewell was a hero.
And the American media destroyed him.
Shame on them. Shame on us.
RIP Richard. I'm sorry we let you down.
That UnaBubba name was disgusting. He was a victim of opportunity.
Paul Walter Hauser play Richard Jewell from Orion and the Dark Cobra Kai Cruella Inside Out 2
Very chilling
Richard jewell is a hero
The film was an accurate representation... the media think different tho 😂 we know why.

Hell, why don't you just post the whole damned movie...

See what I don’t understand is if you were a bomber, why would you still go to work and then try to get people to move away from the bomb? That just doesn’t make sense. As well as putting yourself near the bomb, which would endanger your own life. I know he was proven innocent, but seriously did no one stop and ever ask that question firsthand?
While Richard Jewel was not one of them, some people get a rush off being treated like a hero, and will put themselves in harm’s way to get their fix, as they generally know how to mitigate their own risk.
@@RagnarokMic Ok that is true.
Your logic is exactly why some people might do it to avoid suspicion of planting it.
THE 40 POUND PIPE BOMB WITH 5 POUNDS OF NAILS WAS THE BIGGEST PIPE BOMB IN THE HISTORY OF THE ATF. WHEN THE PIPE BOMB WENT OFF, RICHARD JEWELL WAS 20 FEET AWAY FROM THE PIPE BOMB.
You know what dana how bout you fight. Back in the day fighting age was any able bodied male who could hold a sword in their hand
Swords were not popular weapons of warfare. Usually only held by officers/professional soldiers
Spears and other variants of polearms were the weapons of choice for untrained, poor conscripts.
Also I've got 50 on you somehow posting this to the wrong video
i bet this guy loathes “ criminal minds”
Foof y to quote Agent Hotchner “Jewell was not the perpetrator but if you look at the real bomber, Erick Rudolph, you’ll see our profile was accurate.”
