- B-side of the 'She Bangs The Drums' single from 1989.I've transcribed based upon the way that John Squire played it live during the 'reunion' gigs in 2012/13. You can see an example here: • The Stone Roses Standi... .
Tab used in the video available via headlessguitarist.com/tablatu...
John used a capo at the 2nd fret live, although I believe the original recording is in E, so it's just moved up a whole tone.
For the audio, I'm using my Tokai Les Paul copy into a DAW using the Overloud TH3 plugin. Main sound is Tubescreamer into late 60's Marshall-type head with 4x12 cab with a bit of tape-style delay. Fuzz face also used for the intro and 'solo'.
I also assembled a basic backing track to play over. Mani has some great lines on this tune too. I used this video to learn them: • Stone Roses -Standing ... .

It’s amazing!! Lovely song, nice sound guitar, big performance!
Cool!! 🎸
this is absolutely great playing and a fabulous guitar sound. John Squire was such a melodic player and this one you can just play around with the different sections over three chords. great work Headless :)
Still is
Her was ?
Brilliant live rendition of this and it’s fairly easy to pull off if you watch those notes carefully.
In the original studio version like most SR tracks there are two guitar overdubs one is the clean chorus the other is the fuzz face which comes in and out of the intro verse/chorus and mainly the solo
The clean is underscoring the fuzz on the bridge and solo with the clean on the outro
I think that’s why people find it hard to replicate it by over complicating too many guitar notes.
The style is really loose and flows effortlessly
Thanks for this keep them coming you you will grow this channel easy 👍👍🌹

Why the capo the original doesn't use one?
It's a transcription of the live version from the reunion-era. Bit different from the orginal. See the link in description to the gig in Paris.
He’s playing the live version the original recording is much different a lot of different notes in the fills plus the guitar tracks are layered on the original
Weird how they played it a semitone higher than the record in concert. Most bands go lower cause they can't sing the high notes no mo
