An offroad drag race would be cool. An offroad challenge (like a two-track with some rocky land and some mud) would be even better.
and ome with just grass raptor is just a monster offroad. all the extra power trx has when he races ss717 in his field he stayed right with the trx with the raptor. one thing that would be awesome is a tug of war lightning vs raptor then lightning vs trx. tug of war is abought weight and tires/traction. power is not the big part of tugging

The XLT lightning standard range has 480 horsepower. The Extended range version has 580 horsepower with 775 ft lbs of torque. Car and Driver tested the latter hitting 0-60 in 4 seconds and quarter mile times of 12.7 107 mph. I keep hearing the S650 GT will have 500 horsepower. Looking forward to you verifying this in Detroit. Another Home run by Ford with the lightning, Raptor R, Broncos, Maverick, Mach E and GT500.
Thats going to be horrible if Ford puts out the extended version with 580 horsepower making more than the Mustang S650 at 500 horsepower. Yeah the Mustang is lighter but that Lightnings torque is sick and its gonna keep up with that Mustang. Cmon Ford quit playing with the Mustang's and give them the power they deserve, Im sure people would pay up a little bit for the GTs if they gave them 575-600 horsepower

@@11B_GRUNT Even if an Ice Mustang had the same 580 horsepower as the F150 lightning. The lightning would be faster because the lightning has 775 lbs of instant torque. I'm sure you watched Stangmode race and beat a 700 horsepower TRX in his loaner lightning. The power of an EV It's kinda of like turning on a light switch. Click the switch and the light comes on instantly. In an EV. Press the accelerator and instant torque and acceleration where as an Ice engine needs to obtain a certain RPM in order to hit it's horsepower & torque number.

4.14 second 0-60 time is moving.
Slow to for the new lightning car&driver and motor trend both got sub 4.0s without roll out. Another UA-cam channel got a 3.9s out of a pro.
3.8s is the best I've seen so far overall and a 12.4@107mph. Crazy quick imo for a first effort ev truck.

Pretty sure the heat doesn't affect performance in an ev or hot lapping
I think most have a ideal operating temperature, too much heat not good for anything.
Standard range vs Extended range battery makes a big difference as well.
I suggested on another channel that has a lightning for testing. Someone should ad a couple hundred pounds of sand bags or simething similar in the very front most storage part of the front trunk. A bit of ballast might help those fronts stick better on takeoff without adding any aero drag.

The Raptor won before the race started just by being a real truck, not an appliance posing as a truck.
That offroad suspension and tires is a huge weight disadvantage for the raptor a limited trim f150 with a larger intercooler ,downpipes and a tune can get the 3.5 ecoboost into the 550 hp range and possible get u a 4.5 0 -60 time.also you can take advantage of e85 or meth injection I've seen both applications perform rather well.

The EV Lightning is impressively fast! However, I would think the main reason most people buy a Truck is for towing. I have seen evidence that the Lightning's towing capabilities (mileage range) is less than stellar...maybe even atrocious!!!
This is the first generation of truck based EV. Batteries and charging is all first generation but unlike the Chevy version Ford is working on next generation of batteries, charging and efficiencies. Unlike the many promises of Tesla F150 Lightning is in the hands of customers. It’s real hands are on it now. Until I see the others in drivers hands being tested it is all fantasy
Now that you’ve tried the lightning I would love to see your impressions of the Lucid GT and it’s off the line speed and torque? If you get the chance would enjoy that grin on your face too.

Where I live, there are two intersections leaving town where the two lane roads narrow to a single lane. Every damned time I'm in front, at the red light the person in the right lane gets all pissy when I pull out first and I have to deal with them tailgating me for the next five miles. I smoked a lightning in my 10 speed Mustang GT. The lightning got the hit, but once we hit 80ish....I took off and left them.
First generation of F150 lightning. Question though did the lightning let off the acceleration because of a street race? Was it on a sanctioned track? I don’t know about your car but from what I know about electric motors the torque is 100% from 0 rpm from AWD and no transmission to change gears.
