    Hi Emily, I've recently discovered (and bingewatched) your channel and you show all your destinations in a fantastic light.
    As a Lebanese/Tripolitan abroad, it's beautiful to see how you've captured a nation on its knees in such a positive light. It's important to let the world know that Lebanon is 'heaven on earth', but has unfortunately been taken advantage of.
    Wish you and Val all the best, and here's to many more adventures! 💙🇱🇧

      @@mytube9080 you have no idea, these are not normal begging children, they are gypsy's and their parents use the children to go out and beg for money. When you put yourself in Ahmad's place and have to deal with this harassment every day then you would behave in the exact same way.

    The video is fantastic, guys :) I hope I can make it to Lebanon this summer. I liked the Jam shop. I expect that it's delicious :))) Ahmed was a nice guy, but in my opinion, he ruined everything at the end when he behaved rudely with the Syrian homeless kids. I can understand they are annoying, but there is always a better way to teach those kids to be respectable and not follow people.

      These kids are most likely children of the gypsy clan. They are nomads that live in eastern europe and into the middle east. They are found through out lebanon. That's how they operate, it's organized harassment of people, especially tourist to get money for the parents. You shouldn't blame Ahmed, his behaviour is what is required. It's called tough love and message to their parents that this is not the right way to make a living. Gypsy's don't work, that's how they live. All syrians in lebanon get funding from the united nations and some gulf states so there is no reason these kids would be syrian.

    ORANGE BLOSSOM WATER,
    Im from the north as well Koura Kousba not far from Tripoli its a village but like a modern village .
    So we have a tradition there
    We drink it with hot water
    We call it Café blanc (french for White coffee ) rarely known in arabic as ahweh bayda often we use the french name.
    Its great for digestion and relaxing after a long day
    Contrary to the coffee ot will calm youuu
    Just boil the water turn off the fire
    Add few spoons "till taste" the orange blossom water, and sugar is needed guess valentine will do hahah
    And drink it its yummy

Instead of yelling at them, you could talk to them and give them what they ask for, which is 1000 lira, which is not worth anything, and tell them May God bless you instead of wearing them. These are children who have no fault. Please pay attention to this point.

    I've never commented on a UA-cam video before, however after seeing your tour guide/translator's actions, I must comment. I watched the earlier video about Ramadan nightlife in Tropoli and he was so rude to the workers at the shops. No, this is not the way Arabs argue or bargain. I thought he was rude in the previous video, but didn't comment. In this video, I was furious after seeing Ahmed treat the kids that way. He had no right to attack the little children like that. 1000 Lebanese Lira is about 3 cents in USD. That amount of money isn't going to break any western tourist. I get why you didn't give the kids money and that's not the issue I'm commenting about. I personally never give homeless people money in the streets of U.S cities or at traffic lights. That's fine. Don't give them money, **but also don't attack them and treat them like second class citizens**. To be clear, I don't blame you guys. Your tour guide is utterly disrespectful and didn't let you guys do your own thing. You should've called him out though. You can clearly see the tension. Those little kids have no one on their side in real life, but I'm glad some people have hearts on the internet and some comments agree with my thoughts. Put yourself in their shoes for just a second. They could be lying about the need for money or honest. Money isn't the point. You don't have to give them money, but please don't treat them like second class humans. As an Arab-American, Ahmed's actions really bothered me and I started to tear-up. It's disgraceful. I hope you can at least address it because it was huge deal and really bothered people. Please never have Ahmed as your tour guide. He's the worst tour guide I've ever seen. He's so disrespectful to the workers in the shops, the kids on the street, and even you guys. He was so forcing on you guys and rude. Anyways, best of luck in your travels! Sorry for the long comment.... I just couldn't stay quiet for those poor kids.

      @yazenahmad 2 роки тому +5

      @@georgesadam And I respect your opinion. To be clear, I'm not the only one that noticed this. Just look at the other comments and they share similar thoughts. I don't understand why you're defending him. You're probably related or know him and that's why you're defending him. No decent human being would defend those actions. I did not intent to "hate" on the guy. I'm simply providing my opinion on the situation. There's no "negative energy" - I formatted my message in the most respectful way possible. Would you like your kids to be yelled at by a teenager/young man like that? Anyways, have a great day! I appreciate your input.

      I agree that he shouldnt yell and be rude

      I think u need to know more
      Those kids are : Syrian refugee , Palestinian or Un registered Lebanese that they are from the gypsies they can't even be registered because noone in any of their generation was registered as Lebanese and often they use together Kurdish
      This act is completely illegal and u r not supposed to give them nothing
      But that doesnt mean to be rude with them . Who could've said I can't give u money but i can buy u food and drink
      And since fhey are not interested in that because who sent them to work on the streets wants money

      @MrDecapitate 2 роки тому +1

      lmao, and you believed everything she said? those beggars are part of organized gangs, they're not homeless and their little brothers aren't sick, their parents send them to beg on the streets on daily basis and that's how they make a living instead of finding a normal job and sending their children to school to have an education and live a normal childhood, by giving money to those children you're not helping them, it's actually the opposite, you're encouraging them to continue begging instead of learning a skill or something they can rely on. but you don't live in Lebanon so you don't know any of that, I suggest you don't shame people before you know the truth of what's really happening, this comment makes you look kind-hearted but very naive.
