Tripoli is a very peaceful place and its people are very generous and kind. I hope the city portrayed that to you. every city is the world has an old and new side. Tripoli is not any different. while the old souks are very interesting, there is a new Tripoli with high rises and plethora of nice restaurants. You should have visited Mina during the day as well. This is where I spent my childhood and teen years.
8:55 in standard arabic, orange is called "برتقال" which is pronounced like "burtuqal" while lemon is called "ليمون" which is pronouced like "laymoun". So I think only le lebanese (maybe other levantine accents too) are confusing in that regard haha. In maghreb countries like my Algeria, it is completely different, orange is called "tchina" and lemon is called "qares" (and even these I think change from province to province...)
