Another thing I would like to add is that PGS has been great with warranty claims and they have made improvements to this gear set based on input from the community.
Thanks for you kind words mate! :) Yes, we have actually improved every part of the gearset where someone has found a weaker spot and the particular problem hasn't occurred since. A very good testing bench for us has been the D1 Pro Drift Series. You really can't imagine much worse destiny for a gearset than to be sent there.. :) We've made sure they'll handle all the punishment they're getting there.
Just got mine in! 2.68 1st gear
My PGS just arrived too, just installed in my car. cant't wait to have a go in it. I'm wiring mine to use a gear knob load cell to cut ignition for gear shifts, help keep the dogs alive.
Man, I didn't know those existed, I can't wait to see this. This is Pretty Dope
" Why go to T56 when I can shift without the clutch"...
Touche' sir... Touche'
😈😈😈
I’m excited for you man! I’m pumped to see how it drives on the street.
Bro. Like. Bro. Just wait
Beast Mode: Activated
Pgs price sky rocket pass couple years.. it's already as much as a grannas t56
My brother broke one of these boxes already. First time was due to a mis-shift from 3rd to 5th and second time was on a downshift from 4th to 3rd. With the stock H pattern shifter you will find that it goes very easy left to right, which will make it easy to mis-shift the transmission. I recommend you cut open the detent springs for the shifter and shim it as much as possible with washers then weld it back shut.
Are you saying to make it more stiff? The detent springs are held in by a torx screw. Couldn't I just put a ball bearing on top of it to make it more stiff?
@@RabidJz I'm talking about the springs on the tail shaft housing that thread in from either side that regulate the side to side play of the shifter. When you put it together and feel how it is in the car you will see what I mean.
How long ago did he break it? And how did he break it on a downshift
@@RabidJz it was not too long ago maybe a month. I will add you on facebook and introduce you to him, there is a group of other people there having certain issues I'll see if he can add you to the group.
@@angrymechanic5529 Was it a stock R154 or dogbox? Was he using any type of downgear blipping? Easy way to kill any dogbox is on the downshift and not having RPM matched with gearbox speed.
Give a good conclusion and review asap when you get the gearset assembled and tested. I'm torn between this gearset, stick with my current R154 that I've built or do a typical tried and tested BMW 6-speed ZF -swap (with utterly shitty 1-2-3 gear ratios). PGS lives close to me and I have spoken with them couple times. No one in the drift community have run the gearsets they produce as far as I know. Gearmotive makes almost 2 grand cheaper gearset for 5-speed ZF S5D that is equipped in many top competition drift cars here in Finland.
Currently building a new 3.2l stroker 1.5JZ vvt-i engine into my JZX100 and have almost all the bottom end stuff accuired. The old stock 1j vvti decided to ejectoseat nr.1 rod into the moon at 33psi boost and 8500rpm after 4k miles lol.
I'm so confused. Do people actually see one video from my channel and then not go look for more? Every video after this is of that gearbox
@@RabidJz Hahaha I thought this was the most recent video of yours, as it was the first one on the recommended list of mine. Didn't even watch upload date or anything because I was so interested of the content. Gotta check your other vids now!
Lol was gonna say this was uploaded like 3 months ago. I've put alot more videos up
How long did it take to get your gearseat
About 7 months
Write up yo
I got you!
