This is the most gorgeous design of a sports car I've seen in the past 10+ years, easy. What a STUNNER Mercedes. PLEASE, pay this designer whatever he/she wants, and keep 'em coming!
it's a great looking car, i actually like the look of it a lot, well done Mercedes for making the new SL-Class coupé... ..still waiting for the actual AMG GT tho
Not sure why you and other people who haven’t driven it say such a thing. Haven’t seen one person who’s actually driven it, on video too, actually say it drives like an SL
@@iosgaming2824 bcs from the weight alone we know for the fact that as much as fun as this car could have, it's no longer a Porsche 911 competitor, or an R8 and Mc20 competitor, and it's now based on SL not on its proprietary platform, also shows how less serious they are on making a sports car, not saying its gonna be bad, but now its more of a Sporty GT
It looks good, but it's not a new design, but an evolution of the old one. IMO they improved the front, but the back looked more distinctive and cleaner before. I don't understand how people consider this a good interior, it literally looks like someone took out the centre console and replaced it with an ipad. The original 2014 one looked much better, even though it had a stuck-on-like screen. In general, Mercedes interiors have taken a step down in the last generation.
I’m a car engineer. You can still see it in Audi‘s design that the engine position is not behind the front axle. Look at the distance between the wheel arch and the beginning of the front door and compare Audi against Mercedes or BMW. There‘s far more sheet metal at Merc and BMW because they are able to install the axle further to the front since its position not depends on the engine position (due to rear-wheel-drive DNA)
Looks are subjective. IMO Mercedes have designed more beautiful cars in the past. I'm not a fan of the downturned grill. The original GT had a better, more unique exterior.
I think it's crazy that sports cars now have the better interiors compared to their sedan and SUV brothers.. just if only Mercedes put more physical control in this it would be perfect
Was close to getting the last GT until the pause and definitely liking this new design so I will be taking a closer look. This one seems to have more form following function and the contours are beautifully slick, modern and balanced. Both generations are stunning headturners. These GT coupes have as much road presence as pure supercar brands as they are rare to see. I still have the previous generation GTR as my favorite though.
I have the same bucket seats in my E63 Estate. I drive regularly long distances of 880 kilometres on highways. The seats are surprizingly comfortable, and im not the only one saying that.
Side windows’ silhouette and the general look of the greenhouse is 911. It is a beautiful car but i can’t unsee the 911 and it confuses my brain😌 I think the merc needed and deserved a more distinct and signature design of its own.
A sports coupe weighing over 2t is way too heavy imo. The new Porsche 911 hybrid came out and even with the hybridisation it was still under 1.5t. Like the previous generation, not quite enough to compete with the 911 in my eyes.
The interior looks great? I would buy this car for the looks and to keep it for a long time. I have a BMW Z4 M coupe from 2008. It has a navigation/infotainment that luckily can fold away. It is so outdated that it looks pathetic where the rest of the car still looks great. A car like this just needs old school dials, buttons and knobs, preferably CNC machined from pure metal, like the Spyker C8, not some screens/infotainmet that will be outdated in a couple of years. If I need navigation they can create some attachment for a smartphone, I don't need more.
It's just too heavy. It's like they don't even care about the sportiness aspect anymore. It's actually hilarious knowing that with the 4 door versions of the car, the regular has a faster Nürburgring lap time than the e performance model. Power ain't everything
Yeah, alright. This new GT is now worthy of being a successor to the SLS. The previous GT was a bit... meh. But this one, the full-fat 805 hp MONSTER is brilliant! Now the biggest question is: AMG GT 63S E-Perf, Bentley Conti V8-hybrid or Porsche 911 Turbo S? Honestly, I think I might go for the Merc - given that I don't use my own money though. $200k is too much to pay. For that, I'd have a new M3 Comp Touring AND a new Mustang Dark Horse.
Mercedes interiors are way too busy for my liking. The steering wheel, though very functional, is too cluttered. I like how McLaren does those: clean af.
Since Porsche has gone fully woke and hates it’s customers, and, refuses to make 911s in normal production volumes, and encourages speculation as the primary way to buy a car, the Mercedes GT is the replacement.
Mercedes is now in Chinese and middle eastern hands, those cultures have just very different taste. Can you imagine German Mercedes putting LED strips in a car, making it in a christmas tree.
Good to know Mercedes Still got eyes cause the Eqs & Eqe exterior is one of the ugliest cars I have ever seen on the road Note: Before Merc fanboys come and attack me my opinion is my own and you can ride your keyboard to hell and still change my mind on it lol
The diamond cut style was neither in their heritage nor good design, nor aged well. They've always made swoopy inspired cars with 1920's flair. Me thinks you dont know they've designed some of the most beautiful cars in the world in this style.

I love Mercedes to death but there are so many better looking cars
I’ll take the GT63 use the difference and tune it, then have a 800+ hp GT63 with 200kg less weight.
What about transmission?
it's a great looking car, i actually like the look of it a lot, well done Mercedes for making the new SL-Class coupé...

The front headlights are so flashy!
Older shark styled headlights like the ones on the a45s were way better imo
@the_gamer_m7 yes that's true but the current ones are more modern looking. In my opinion
look like a new Z4 headlight

Yes. Like it or not, Audi is Volkswagen based. Volkswagen, as far as I know, doesnt produce RWD cars, so doesnt Audi. Non-Quattro Audis are FWD.
One of the most beautiful cars ever designed, along with the F-Type, 8C, F355, Chiron..
Nah, SLS AMG is next level compared to that
Oh comon this is wrong
SLR and sls laughs at this

Chiron?

Beautiful! I definitely get Porsche vibes from this back end.
I love that they didn't really change much of the design unlike BMW. It still looks like a Mercedes
Mercedes doesnt takes risks whatsoever. At least BMW is trying out stuff.
Surprised you didn’t talk about the charging port location.

Prefer the overall design of the previous gen front mid engine ..
2:50 this is not true! audis don’t have a front middle engine
🐈: I'll just sit right here...
It looks like a GT350 from the side, but with less muscular rear fenders. Love it.
On which specific Model does Audi fixed it? As far as i know Audi still struggles with front heavy layouts (including RS Models)
Goes unbelievablky hard. But its still too round and bubbly imo the rear end especially could be more aggressive and racecar like.
Side windows’ silhouette and the general look of the greenhouse is 911. It is a beautiful car but i can’t unsee the 911 and it confuses my brain😌 I think the merc needed and deserved a more distinct and signature design of its own.
New AMG GT Z634 looking nice
Why did they add the 63 to the name of the coupe?
63 don't anything anymore, they just means it's an actual AMG cars
That integration of the charging port swing-door on the rear bumper.👎
Let's hope they sorted out the laggy response of their hybrid implementation seen in the c63.
Crazy to think this weighs way more than my E63S wagon. I wonder how it drives, would be fun to try one out.
A sports coupe weighing over 2t is way too heavy imo. The new Porsche 911 hybrid came out and even with the hybridisation it was still under 1.5t.

AMG spoiling the party for the upcoming 911 hybrid. Insane power in that package.
Nothing beats a silver color AMG
Can’t tell the difference between this and the new Amg gt ?
new urus new urus new urus new urus!
only the GT63 4-door is available as a 800hp hybrid, the coupe just has 585hp
These GT Appeal to me more than any hypercar Where they're over price And you can't never push it to the fullest You can't use it On the public roads.

Good looking car they should have put a larger battery in it.
Is orange the new color of the year. Seems all the intros show an orange model
A v6 or in-line six would have made this sold out (that’s the 4 cylinder version)

For me nothing in this Mercedes age is worthy of that 6.2L V8 what the SLS had, maybe if the regulations change, we can see such a beast in the future
the new urus , the new aventador, new ferrari suv , new mustang shelby, new corvette zr1. Its a good day to be a car enthusiast
Imagine the Brabus edition, horsepower and styling😢
Make it more and more complicated so fewer and fewer people can work on it. Great.
I get it, it looks like aston martin no one can get that out of their heads in the time line tho aston martin is copying mercs 😂
I love the exterior design but the proportions and the shape of the doors are almost identical to a 911.
so this is what the C63 suppose to be but now just at a low low price of 200k.
I love Mercedes and I love Porsche. With that said, I’d wait for the 911 hybrid over this!
The front looks like bmw z4 with aggressive bodykit
turbo s competitor, excited to see the comparisons later on
Nah it's too heavy
faster in a straight line but slower around corners I guess. I love the exterior design, but the interior looks really ugly like most modern cars.
New electric g class is out and new urus please your opinion is needed sir
This is a compromise car . The original was a purpose built animal . Typical merc cost cutting but it doesn’t work when your paying so much money .
So it’s a Porsche with a long hood.
this is when a z4 and a 911 had a love story in stuttgart would look like
Front looks great. Back is average
It looks a lot like the Xiaomi
If its not rear wheel drive its just an Audi smh, ill keep my ancient rear wheel drive amg v12 s class, no amg should be 4matic
Waiting for the Lamborghini Urus SE vido😂
That is literally a 911 turbo
Aston Martin in the front...Porsche from the back...uninspired
?
Not Mercedes just a car

hybrid v8s are the future of performance

more like Aston Martin

meh...

Auto gefuhl did a review on a blue with chrome trim and caramel interior, that to me is the perfect configuration!
Is it just me or is the AMG GT63 **WORSE** than the previous gen?
Too 911 to be a Mercedes
100% agree
Previous design is better 10 times as this new design looks as if someone lacks identity.
That‘s a beautifull 911 with a brilliant V8 Setup!
Hideous, absolutely hideous, especially the interior!
So one of these and just couldn’t get behind the tail lights. Look silly honestly
Amg keep making those gas gusling v8 Marvel's ❤
The vent makes it look less Porsche-like.
Crazy its slower then a m3cs and it needs electric support. While the m3cs is pure engine.
