@@jamesengland7461speaking of which, a Toyota engine with a little over 300 horses sounds like a very achievable figure and the drivetrain would be bulletproof 😂
Well, the ZF 8HP is arguably the best autobox on the planet, so it is a great choice. I am sure a different lever could have been chosen to go with the overall design of the car, but with a big engine in a light car, you would literally have to change gears every 2 seconds to keep up. So it is a great pairing.
Morgan never disappoint, absolutely love this. Morgan's classic look with a healthy dose Pininfarina styling, couldn't think of a better pairing. Morgan have always been so underrated, an amazing car isn't just about speed, new tech and record hunting, Morgan has class and that all too elusive personal touch.
I rented a Morgan Plus Four (2021 model) recently for my birthday and they're some of the most beautiful cars. Picked it up right from the factory in Malvern and took it along some nice English country roads and even drove it down to Wales. 🧐🎩 It was the same color presented here, white with the red wine interior. The only difference was that it was a 6 speed manual. The shifter has chrome up top and looks far better than the auto shifter that's used in every auto version as displayed here. I'm sure at this price point they can opt for the manual transmission
I saw a Morgan in real life two days ago, and I really want one. Morgan, with modern classic cars, is like a dream for me That still doesn't mean I don't like screens in cars, but it's different in cars like Morgan
Morgan is like Porsche with the 911 in that they’ve taken a basic design that goes back decades and constantly updated it without losing anything. There’s no doubt that Midsummer is a Morgan.
It needs to be a manual. If I had the money, what ever it took I would ditch the engine for something normally aspirated with a manual box. Perhaps the classic BMW 3.2 M straight 6 would be perfect.
I wasnt concentrating when i looked at the thumbnail for this video, so I thought the back was the front and vice versa. In my opinion it looks really good with the back being the front.
How could you miss that the top of the grille is taken from the wheels? The back end reminds me of a Marcos. The gearbox selector is horrible in this context. The front has some references to Bugatti. But all in all very beautiful.
The first few seconds I looked at the title screen, I thought it was something like Pagani. Then I realized that where I expected, the bow of the car turned out to be the stern.
This really does look absolutely stunning. Excellent. Edit: I just wanted to say, I would kinda want to see bmw's own take on bringing back their own 30s or 40s speedster in a similar form to this. I think they have a wonderful design history to pull from too the 328 for example. A gorgeous thing to behold too with sporting pedigree to boot. I just think it would be fun to see. At least in the form of a concept car. The 507 kinda received that rejuvenation in the form of the Z3 and Z4 but still... Seeing the 507 brought up to date again...
Morgan and McLaren are the last 2 true British car brands left. All the others are foreign owned now with limited control in their own direction. It's amazing to me that Morgan still uses the same tooling they bought 60+ years ago.
Fabulous looking car, until it rains in the UK's glorious weather, and heaven help us in the depths of winter, but then i suspect those that can afford it wouldn't care about the cars practicalities.
Hello. Don't know if you've heard about the Pontiac coming back ad but if they were which 3-4 models do you think they would reintroduce and how would you imagine them (all featuring the iconic "firebird" emblems on hood and other areas).
Beyond lucky to have 1/50 Doing the spec for mine next week! What color advice would you give? At the moment I’m looking at a burgundy/cabernet colour for body, with light cream interior and burgundy stitching - with gloss wood like a classic wooden speedboat (Riva Aquaramas) Asking for an alternate shifter and slightly taller windshield if possible.
I think they could've just painted the gear shifter the same colour as the dashboard so it matches the colour scheme of the interior at least, because its not a bad shaped shifter its just black and obvious
White is not a good colour for this Morgan, it would be better in either British Racing Green, or Royal Navy Blue. Or Post Office Red, or maybe two tone Black over Silver finishes too. Though this Morgan model, should have a old fashion style wooden trimmed stainless steel steering, with a matching gearknob leaver too. Where are either the wing side mirrors, or door side mirrors, or even centre dashboard rear mirror too? Will this new Morgan model even have a folding soft top hood, or rear external spare wheel, plus stainless steel luggage rack as well? So it is a usable car all year round, it rains a lot in the United Kingdom, plus the UK weather is very changeable too. If Morgan are only building 50 of this new model, then maybe US $ 250,000 too US $ 300,000 asking price is asking reasonable. However, if Morgan reduce the price to £ 125,000 per car, then offered to build between 100 to 150 vehicles, maybe upto 200 if there is enough interest too. Then many more true Morgan fans and drivers, would more than likely buy this new Morgan model, plus they would enjoy driving it on daily or weekly basis, maybe doing 4,000 to 6,000 miles a year too. Than just the Super Rich Multi Millionaire car collectors, who snap up limited Super Car Production run vehicles as investments. Then keep them in private garages, locked away behind mansion gates and private estate walls, maybe only to take them out once or twice a year if that, just putting the odd few miles on them. When is a Morgan, not a Morgan, when it is locked up in a garage and not being driven. Morgans are cars to be driven after all, as well as loved and enjoyed, plus seen on summer afternoon country drive going by too. On roads like where Morgans are built in Malvern, Worcestershire in the UK, plus driven along the nearby Welsh Borders hillside roads. Or along French Swiss and Italian Alpine Mountain narrow climing and decending plus sharp cornering roads, with equally great views too! An old or new Morgan, is not a city street or motorway driving car, its a car for wide open country roads and lanes. Saying that, this is a lovely looking Morgan, hand built by British craftsmen and women, a credit to Morgan too!
Aesthetically flawless. Here's the thing: It doesn't cost any more to make a beautiful car than an ugly one. It's like all the concept cars that never make to production. These teasers remind me of a beautiful woman, well endowed, walking in the allure of her beauty, knowing you'll never have her for a wife.
You are absolutely right, this beauty doesn’t deserve this ugly BMW gear shift, a proper manual one would put it as the perfect gentleman’s car. Greetings from Brazil.
The 40s speedsters will always have a spot in my heart.
Agreed. Probably the most gorgeous vehicle I've ever seen.
Please! No need for exaggeration 😂
If you squint real hard at the thumbnail, it looks like a weird Ferrari Enzo/FXX with the driving compartment moved forward.
Now I can't unsee it😭😭😭
modern supercar esthetics backwards, lol wow
I see it. But just curious, what are you on?
That's literally how I first glanced at it!
@@marquisemiller2108same
Well done Morgan you have nearly reached the level of Triumph TR2 design!
Had a TR2 in 1971 registration number TRY 123. I hate to think what that would be worth now !
Yep ! getting there .
Beautiful design, but all that old-school vibe is absolutely ruined by the BMW automatic transmission and associated gear selector.
Right? Could they not get the Supra 6 speed manual?
@@jamesengland7461speaking of which, a Toyota engine with a little over 300 horses sounds like a very achievable figure and the drivetrain would be bulletproof 😂
Seriously...go all that way
Oh No!
It's not an automatic - is it?
Well, the ZF 8HP is arguably the best autobox on the planet, so it is a great choice.

It’s so good looking, everything just matched, that line flow, the materials, the color… Very well orchestrated… But then we have that shifter *sigh

This car is both unique and familiar. Overall, a stunning design.
I saw a Morgan in real life two days ago, and I really want one. Morgan, with modern classic cars, is like a dream for me
That still doesn't mean I don't like screens in cars, but it's different in cars like Morgan
stunning piece
Incredible that are able to do this masterpiece.🍷
Morgan is like Porsche with the 911 in that they’ve taken a basic design that goes back decades and constantly updated it without losing anything. There’s no doubt that Midsummer is a Morgan.
Wow, talk about hitting the nail on the head. I love the name, Midsummer. Good times.
Thankfully it doesn’t have the cross-eyed look of the Morgan Aero 8.
Agreed
That was down to the Beetle headlights. So wrong.
If you turn the cockpit around facing the other way and then put a bubble over it, it would make a supercar.
Now I can't unsee that.
Gorgeous. I can't wait for the hardtop version: the Morgan Hereditary.
piece of art
barchettas have returned!
It needs to be a manual. If I had the money, what ever it took I would ditch the engine for something normally aspirated with a manual box. Perhaps the classic BMW 3.2 M straight 6 would be perfect.
Would never get it through emissions. It has to be an EU6 engine and the non turbo ones aren’t so not possible
Absolutely stunning looking Morgan. Who would have thought you’d ever hear me say that!
I wasnt concentrating when i looked at the thumbnail for this video, so I thought the back was the front and vice versa.
In my opinion it looks really good with the back being the front.
Noone does a better job at bringing vintage styling and some modern technology together to make a new car, than Morgan. 💛
You got that right 🍸
How could you miss that the top of the grille is taken from the wheels?
The back end reminds me of a Marcos. The gearbox selector is horrible in this context. The front has some references to Bugatti.
But all in all very beautiful.
I wish they fitted a manual gear box that looks like the Paganis and also a bit of a wind shield
I love this car
It's a barchetta . They are designed to be permanent open top, very small windscreen. Like a boat
Exquisite little road riva 🤌
What a beauty. A future classic.
These older vehicle designs have grown on me as I get older. Makes me want a Hurtan if I could import it into the US.
Why does this car look like a weird Pagani Utopia speedster in the Thumbnail ?
they are both kinda steampunky but also smoothed out and reduced
So beautiful. The one thing I'm not convinced of though, is the wood element above the doors.
Going back to the 50s and 60s? My dude....going back to the 1920s...they been at it over 100 years with the roadsters
Exactly 😂
the back looks like the front end of a zonda, i like it
commented that before i got there XD
Pininfarina & Morgan very beautyful ❣️👌🏼
Well done 😅
Love from Berlin 🇩🇪
Ramsi 🙋🏻♂️
Looks very stylish. Like those Boat-Tails.
One of the most beautiful cars I've seen!
the front window should be retractable, so when parked, it does not ruin the lines, but when driving it pops up so you don’t get flies in your teeth.
I think the 458 was by francesco coco in house designer and not pininnfarina
No windscreen or roof?!
When I first saw this car I thought the rear was the front at first
Masterpiece of the year. If there was a coupé or a hardtop version of it as well I would do things for one
I love those sketches.
The first few seconds I looked at the title screen, I thought it was something like Pagani. Then I realized that where I expected, the bow of the car turned out to be the stern.
That is perfect just like that, I’ll like to see a hard top or soft top.
I am wondering what you think about the Donkervoort F22
This really does look absolutely stunning. Excellent.
Edit:

... and it has a German engine & drive train.....not one from Britain...thank heaven for that....
Grazie!
Where did the rearview mirrors go ?
The Sunday ❤ Sweet spot , fun.

You could change the seats in the other direction and its still beautiful
Beautiful ... MUST HAVE !!! 👍🚙🙏
Thank you Sir😊
What a masterpiece!🤯😍
Such a beautiful car!
It looks like the halfmoon insert in the top of the grill is a replica of the wheel design or vice versa.
Wow...
Wow.
My dumb ass was looking at it backwards and thought it was some weird supercar
I did that loo😂

Very Cool, I want a sketch cap. :)
Lovely car to ride on the seaside😍
Why can't they put in the same manual shifter, that goes into the Morgan PlusFour now?
Great roadster. Still behind a AustinHealey 3000 BN1
The only thing missing is carbon fiber. I remember when Morgan raced in FIA gt racing in the 90's. Amazing and beautiful cars.
can you Rate the dutch made Carice Tc2 because the design looks a bit like the porsche 356
That steering wheel needs some tan/red leather but yes absolute beauty
I see those indicator stalks from a mini
Gorgeous.
The back of the car in the thumbnail looks like the front of a Pagani Zonda?
I really like those wheels on this car
Dead if you roll it
The rear end is basically a Pagani Zonda
you should see the inside of Spyker Preliator
Imagine if they incorporated swivel seats....2 cars in one! 😅
If you take off the front lights as a siluate i think it will be much more beautiful to switch the front to the rear to be honest..
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought I was curious why does a pagani have red headlights
How much?
Thought it was a custom Lamborghini then I realized it was the back of the car
Imagine...the back was the front ,so the engine would be in the back.superstar in reverse
I’m not keen on the wood trim on the doors, looks tacky imho, however I do like what Morgan did with done the rear end.

Is Morgan still in business?
Richard Hammond is gonna be all over this

You are absolutely right, this beauty doesn’t deserve this ugly BMW gear shift, a proper manual one would put it as the perfect gentleman’s car.
Greetings from Brazil.
Needs to be a coupe aeroline
Looks like a Zonda but with the front and rear swapped
If this stuns you - then you're very easily stunned.
Having to wear goggles to drive will be a deal breaker for many
Much better looking than the Coke Freestyle machine.
Great, but by the time yours is ready for collection the ICE versions will be illegal!!
MORGAN BRING THEM TO THE STATES
