Papa Roach’s version feels like the teenage angst/rage, like they will threaten to end things. Ronnie's version feels like an adult’s depression, and he’s pleading for help before he ends things. Really puts the raw emotion in the original lyrics that I never noticed.

For the autotune, he said he was in and out of the studio in under 25 minutes. So it makes sense that they may have to tweak bits here and there if he wasn't as controlled as he would have been otherwise.
You're correct, there are two very separate processes going on, recording, like in this, it appears to be a very spontaneous take, then there's the production, where all artifacts are introduced.
The only reason it wasn't called a cover, is because a cover song is just that its an exact copy of the original. That's why Ronnie calls it reimagined, and he also brought the song to a whole new level. Greetings from Australia
I’d have to disagree covers are not exact copies. If you’re here in the US it’s against the law to just outright copy someone else’s work and without permission you can get sued. Like Vanilla Ice being sued for directly sampling the whole riff from Queen’s Under Pressure on Ice Ice Baby. 🥂 from the States

@@nobodyimportant1337 😂🤣😂...Ooooohhhh, you don't say, 238 million, my oh my!!! Well since YT gives up to 5 views to one IP address, per day, the number of people that watched it on YT is likely a little less. No doubt it's an iconic song, especially in the West, but there's more people than that in the U.S. alone, there are 7.95 BILLION people on the planet, not to mention, of the 230 some odd people that saw it on YT, or heard it somewhere else, how many of them, 20yrs later, could name the band? Yeah they may know the song, they may love it, but I'd bet a fair estimate would be at least half couldn't name Papa Roach if their life depended it on it. So I stand by my original comment, the amount of people that were actually into the band that created the original last resort, enough to easily know their name is attached to this song 20yrs later, is indeed a small circle compared to the 7.95 Billion people on this planet. Jacoby and Ronnie know each other personally. Falling in Reverse opened for Papa Roach a few times in concert. Ronnie surprised Jacoby with the unmixed version of his reimagined version of this song, kind of seeking Jacoby's approval in the process, and Jacoby loved it. There is a UA-cam short of it.
I've heard Papa Roach version so many times, but never felt the lyrics this deep. Wow. Just WOW!!! It's probably a good mix of hearing the lyrics better, being more grown-up, and having my own deep problems that made me notice the lyrics even more now. This song is joining my "I need peace and quiet" list
That's the biggest thing i took from this version as well, the lyrics just hit a little differently. Papa Roach just makes me wanna jump around and get rowdy lol
Kudos to who ever created this video concept and brought it to fruition! It’s DEEP all by itself, then you add in the lyrics and vocals and it’s INTENSE! Love watching you do what you do M.R.! Keep up the great work! 😄 God Bless.
Small but important detail @ 14:02 you can see the celloist is actually crying and I think that adds a great element to the overall emotion to the video and experience! What a masterpiece!! 👏🏾👏🏾
He has a live video of his drug in me reimagined song and he pretty much sounds the same. I don't think he needs autotune for anything other than cleaning up the vocals a bit for the produced version
Autotune is a specific type of pitch correction, that people think of when rappers that can't sing use it, or pop artists add a little as an effect to their voice. Almost every single professional artist on the planet adds a little pitch correction to their vocals for the studio version of their songs.
The problem with that logic is that a cover has to be faithful to the original, this is, as the title stipulates a re-imagined version of the original. It's like taking Mozart and putting it into metal form, yes it's not that band's song, but they had to rearrange the whole thing. The fact that they used the same naming for their own song is irrelevant, in the future it could be that they have released 10 reimagined "covers" of other people works and only 2 of their own, in which case someone will come back and say "Well, it's a bit confusing that they used the same name for their own "covers"!" Perspective matters.
15:09 - Gotta love the bookend to Watch The World Burn. In this, he's walking through the ash left by his rage (which is where the buildings begin tumbling, and why everything is gray and dusty.) As the storm breaks and he's still here, the pain behind the rage gets vented and triumphant tears ("running and I'm crying") rejuvenate the land that rage had blighted.
It should be pretty common knowledge that Last Resort is not his song lol. I don’t know a single person who does not know Last Resort from Papa Roach. It’s insanely popular. And trust me Ronnie gives credit for the song to Papa Roach. He’s just doing his own take of it. And I mean whether it’s misleading or not we have this thing called the internet where we can look up if it’s his song or not, not that hard.
I've literally seen almost a dozen reactions to this song, that people had no idea it was a cover, stop equating your little corner of the world to the entire world
Not one person felt he was trying to take credit for this song because u would have to never have listened to music at all to not know this is not his song. There is video of Jacoby listening to it for the first time and he flipped out with pride.
Maybe in your little circle of friends, hat to break it to ya, it's a big world out there, lots of people don't know the original, and probably half the people that do know the original, have no clue who Papa Roach is.
Not sure how you could see this as missleading lol. It's a Reimagined song. A Reimagined song dosent have to be only his nor did he imply in anyway it was.
I went to see Ronnie live, I was in the pit 5 feet from him this is his voice he held the Mic at his hip the music cut and he just murdered the course I had friends in the cheap seats and they said his voice hit them all the way up there but to be 5 feet from him doing it sent the energy and chills through my entire body!!!
When people complain about what he writes about it aggravates the heck out of me. If they knew his background of course that is what he writes about. If they don’t see why after learning the background they are just stupid.
First time seeing 1 of your videos and your energy and hype actually feels authentic unlike alot of reactors. Subbing before I watch another. Big ups homie
It wasn't, most of the video is CGI, but I'm an FPV drone pilot, and I can promise you, some of those shots were definitely inspired by FPV freestyle drone maneuvers.
@sunshynff so when Vanover filmed with Michael Bay, they didn't use any of his shots and just did it with CGI? If you are right, then there's zero need for commercial FPV.
I’m done with this reaction. He did it straight no autotune and played it for Jacoby literally sounds spot on because he refuses to record anything that does not sound identical in real life. He doesn’t have crutches, and this is just insanely annoying
As one of the reactors said, the original called to our inner teenager filled with anger, and this one calls to our now inner adult who had been beat down and broken by life
I resonate with this version rn as a adult I feel like I’m drowning and no one seems to see it the only thing keeping me going is my brother who I’m trying to help get away from our abusive mom trying to keep him above water even if I have to sink so he can breathe freely
I dont know if this was mentioned but it just hit me. The very end of the video shows the world burning being put out. This video was a continuation of Watch the World Burn where the last scene showed the world catching fire. The exact same scene in reverse. Holy shit RR is a genius. Fellow vegas boy here.
Absolutely LOVE Ronnie's interpretation of this song. Loved Papa Roach back in the day. And SUS UA-cam blocking this for SEVEN months. Oy!! Happy to see it made the channel though!
Great reaction. I really really hope you'll check out the video of Ronnie playing the unmixed version for Jacoby. Ronnie said the vocals are basically the first take that was only meant as a - I forgot the name - a track to give a general idea for the following recordings?! It turned out so good, that they decided to keep it.
I'd like to point out that the lyric "It all started when i lost my mother" is also same lyric in the original by Papa Roach. Ronnie didn't change the lyrics.
Autotune is a specific type of pitch correction, that people think of when rappers that can't sing use it, or pop artists add a little as an effect to their voice. Almost every single professional artist on the planet adds a little pitch correction to their vocals for the studio version of their songs, including Ronnie, it is what it is, it doesn't mean he's not a great singer. Don't be so defensive.
It appears that Ronnie wanted to do this song for a long time, it seems very personal, even if he didn't write it. We all have songs like that, which we would have to create if they didn't exist yet.
This version hits sooooo different than the original by Jacoby - Papa Roach. It’s so so good. They both are! The original is a jam… this one is poetry! ❤
Always do your research if you are going to touch on an artist or any story . This song has been around since the year 2000. It's Papa Roach's song . He not only gave full permission to Ronnie to make a redo but also gave him his blessing as he was quite pleased with the new version. Always always do your research b4 doing videos or podcasts. Js
I love both versions, Papa Roach seemed to emphasize adolescent anger and frustration while Ronnie's rendition conveys more of the depression and depth of emotion and gives the lyrics more impact. This song hit me harder than I thought it would.😢

Jensen Noen is the director
He does everything justice
The man can do it all❤
Small but important detail @ 14:02 you can see the celloist is actually crying and I think that adds a great element to the overall emotion to the video and experience! What a masterpiece!! 👏🏾👏🏾
I have been patiently waiting for this one! Ronnie knocked it outta the park!
I don’t think it’s come back down yet…
He has a live video of his drug in me reimagined song and he pretty much sounds the same. I don't think he needs autotune for anything other than cleaning up the vocals a bit for the produced version
Autotune is a specific type of pitch correction, that people think of when rappers that can't sing use it, or pop artists add a little as an effect to their voice. Almost every single professional artist on the planet adds a little pitch correction to their vocals for the studio version of their songs.
Unbelievable. I'm at a loss for words. Absolutely beautiful.
It says reimagined because while yes, it is a cover- it is completely "reimagined" instrumentally and dynamically from the original
The problem with that logic is that a cover has to be faithful to the original, this is, as the title stipulates a re-imagined version of the original.
It's like taking Mozart and putting it into metal form, yes it's not that band's song, but they had to rearrange the whole thing. The fact that they used the same naming for their own song is irrelevant, in the future it could be that they have released 10 reimagined "covers" of other people works and only 2 of their own, in which case someone will come back and say "Well, it's a bit confusing that they used the same name for their own "covers"!"
Perspective matters.
Papa roach was the originator of last resort he just re-mixed it and made his own
The original taught us the words, this taught us the emotion
Its all him!!
Don't let Ronnie hear you say he uses auto tune lol, he claims he doesn't use ANY vocal vices at all, he says it's all him!
Ik live he sounds this good
it´s called reimagined cause he didnt really changed the lyrics but he covered it in his own musical expression i hope u know what i mean :D
Literally, nobody thinks Ronnie Radke wrote this song lol.
litterally nobody thinks this isn't a cover, you're making connections that don't actually exist.
I've literally seen almost a dozen reactions to this song, that people had no idea it was a cover, stop equating your little corner of the world to the entire world
I have been waiting for this reaction from you!!!!
The unmixed version sounds basically the same. Heard he did it in like 25 minutes
He did talk to Jacoby when he did this version. It just sounds so different from the original. I enjoy both.
Welcome to the FIR rabbit hole! Your videos are so educational! Keep up the great work!
Amazing reaction. You are so natural. And yes, very deep performance 😢
Not sure how you could see this as missleading lol. It's a Reimagined song. A Reimagined song dosent have to be only his nor did he imply in anyway it was.
a bit of imperfection brings a lot of reality in the feelings
I went to see Ronnie live, I was in the pit 5 feet from him this is his voice he held the Mic at his hip the music cut and he just murdered the course I had friends in the cheap seats and they said his voice hit them all the way up there but to be 5 feet from him doing it sent the energy and chills through my entire body!!!
I love this song! It hits hard and deep! 😢🥺 This epical reaction Maggie!
Very sweet! Thank you!! See you later today! 🤗💟🌺🎶
When people complain about what he writes about it aggravates the heck out of me. If they knew his background of course that is what he writes about. If they don’t see why after learning the background they are just stupid.
LMFAO.. no... no body thought Ronnie wrote this song.... definitely only you! Haha..
no , youre literally the only person on the planet who didnt know this was a papa roach song lmao
First time seeing 1 of your videos and your energy and hype actually feels authentic unlike alot of reactors. Subbing before I watch another. Big ups homie
It was a drone. The drone shots in this video are incredible! Ronnie is the goat!
If you are right, then there's zero need for commercial FPV.
awesome cover by Ronnie Radke of Papa Roach ^^
Ronnie Radke, you are so unbelievably talented
He never used auto tone thats his voice just saying
You need to react to Last Resort ❤️❤️
YOU ARE SUCH A PERFORMANCE JUNKY i LOVE IT. & 30 YEARS AGO i WOULD'VE ASKED TO VERIFY THAT ' GOOSE BUMPS EVERYWHERE' STATEMENT love YA SHOW
I’m done with this reaction. He did it straight no autotune and played it for Jacoby literally sounds spot on because he refuses to record anything that does not sound identical in real life. He doesn’t have crutches, and this is just insanely annoying
No one thought it was his song lol
As one of the reactors said, the original called to our inner teenager filled with anger, and this one calls to our now inner adult who had been beat down and broken by life
Spectacular reaction Maggie!!! It hit you as hard as I’d thought (hoped?) it would.
It’s crazy how when you put the song to a different tempo or beat or feel all the sudden you realize what the person who wrote the lyrics was saying
Maggie would really like to see more of you singing. Your voice is beautiful and so are you.
Thank you so much!
@@maggiereneemusic you’re welcome.
Absolutely LOVE Ronnie's interpretation of this song. Loved Papa Roach back in the day. And SUS UA-cam blocking this for SEVEN months. Oy!! Happy to see it made the channel though!
Jacoby wanted this one and jacoby was mind blown by ronnies version.
Gosh you’re normal relaxed voice is heaven sent haw I’m jelly
Great reaction. I really really hope you'll check out the video of Ronnie playing the unmixed version for Jacoby.
Ronnie said the vocals are basically the first take that was only meant as a - I forgot the name - a track to give a general idea for the following recordings?! It turned out so good, that they decided to keep it.
I'd like to point out that the lyric "It all started when i lost my mother" is also same lyric in the original by Papa Roach. Ronnie didn't change the lyrics.
Falling in reverse just released a song with jelly roll called ---All my life
Kid's, don't contemplate suicide. Stay here with us. We all love you. Be strong
The song the day I left the womb is about his mother when he was in the band escape the fate. I would recommend but it is sad.
I know this is an older post but - NO auto tune in this song.
No se ya la de veces que la he escuchado y cada vez se me ponen los pelos más de punta, me parece impresionante, absolutamente enamorada ❤
This song has always resonated deep in me I've been on that edge for a long time but to me that's the cowards way out great anthem in my opinion
How does someone praise and hate on a song at the same time? 😂
You should watch the video of him showing it to Jacoby he was so nervous that it was palatable through the screen
This song hit me harder than I thought it would.😢
16:31 - When you mentioned you play Carmen, I had to go and search and YES! You have videos of Habanera.
You need to watch the live version of watch the world burn by him so much better than the original video
zero people that listen to Falling in reverse thought this was an original
