2020 Virginia Women’s Summit Opening Remarks | Women Rights | Get Out The Vote (GOTV)

These remarks were prepared for the opening ceremony of the 2020 Virginia Women’s Summit hosted by Network NoVA. The focus is emphasizing all the amazing progress Virginia has made in the last 3 years and the importance of voting this election year to make positive changes for our national and the state of Virginia. We need to get out the vote (GOTV)! Make sure to vote and tell others to vote too. This election is too important not to.
The Summit focuses on connecting grassroot organizers, civically engaged citizens, elected officials, candidates running for office, and campaign staffers with issues, ideas, and activities to stay energized and united within and across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Last year, we had 1,000 attendees,140 candidates from local, state and federal offices, and 70 vendors for our advocacy fair exhibit.

Awww that's so kind of you to say! I just want people to be more involved because every single person can truly make a difference! We cannot allow these big corporations and corrupt individuals to dictate how we want to live in society. But if I can motivate someone to vote, and have them motivate someone else to vote or drive them to the polls, doing this video was all worth it! We all need to do self-reflection - evaluate our talents and interests and try to give that back (to the world or someone). FYI - that's a keep tip to happiness 'giving back'.
