With family living in the Tucson area, I have ran this trail many times but for some reason I never put together a video. I was expecting to just slip into the middle of the group and enjoy a relaxing day on the trail however being that I have experience on the route, I was asked to take the lead.
This trail has everything to challenge you and your rig. The first few obstacles like Kiss Rock are fun and allow you to get warmed up for the big one, Unsurvivable. As you'll see, we had a clos e call with one rig and others had to give it a little extra to get up that one.

What an excellent trail. Where in the state is it?
It's a legit hard trail north of Tucson, AZ. Thanks for watching.
Hello, I want to do this trail, I can be somewhat hesitant on some climbs but my husband will be all for it. Is there alternatives trails at the obstacles for me to go on if I choose to not climb? Thank you and love the video!
Thank you for checking out our video of this awesome trail. The trail has a couple challenges that require at least one locker and 33" tires. The "by-passes" are quite difficult, steep, and loose. Complete details about all the obstacles along the route can be found here www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/39-charouleau-gapfr-736
I hope this helps and that you have a safe adventure!
Very nice Jeeps guys, way to represent
Thanks for checking us out!
That trail is even more fun when you do it in the dark
and without spoting every hill . every time
Indeed it is,I’ve done that trail many times in the dark.have also been in on a few rescues up there too,man I miss Arizona
Really fun trail! It has a lot of places to play with some challenges along the way. Last time we went, we had a broken axle shaft, 3 punctured tires, ruptured brake line (me), scraped a hard top and broke a light bar and bracket, and 2 broken tail lights! Someone thought it would be a good idea to bring their new '17 Tacoma TRD.... it had sliders and they got a lot of use! He had a lot of damage (not included in the earlier list) and had to be pulled multiple times.
Kallam Kruse That sounds like a nightmare run. Also I couldn’t imagine trying to get an IFS vehicle through this trail but understand that many do it.
@@xploremor It was an all day affair but always a good time. Everyone made it home safe! I had a spare brake line with me. Last run I went on a guy punctured a brake line and used my last spare, but made it off the trail.
I've been there before! What a great place to be offroading! Im from Illinois, and my brother inlaw and nephew lives there in tuscon! And that's where they took me! Man i had a blast! Hopefully by next summer i'll be moving there, and continue the fun. now that im retired! Jeep wave!👋😎👍✌
Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience. I'm also from Illinois but moved to AZ 8 years ago and my parents now live very close to the trailhead. I hit this one as much as I can when I'm visiting. Truly an iconic route. Be sure to check out Chiva Falls next time, that's another one of faves in Tucson. ua-cam.com/video/KSb84BJtkU8/v-deo.html
@@xploremor nice! Thank you brother! I sure will check it out! Maybe when i move there i'll look you guy's up.👋😎👍✌
Dam guy stuck his hand out on the white Jeep. Bet that pretty scary sliding in the crack. Cool vids
eric rush Good catch I never noticed it before. I did it myself really quick in my Jeep vs. Toyota video. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Arizona Jeep Freaks The rear wasn’t working. Thanks for watching

Thanks for checking us out and have fun with the video making and editing, that's the key!
We just did this trail in our 2019 Polaris RZR XP4 Turbo S a couple weeks ago. Super easy. Got it done in less than 2 hours.
Was it a race?
Thanks for watching.

woot! never thought you'd be hitting trails up by Mt. Lemon :D ty so much for the trail guide! just a little back story i pick random trails every Christmas when i visit the parents in Tucson (for the past 2 years atm) i was goin to hit this trail up w/the parents but decided to up Chiva Falls, needless to say, i'm glad i choose Chiva Falls over this one, sure the mom woulda been a little uneasy but my dad woulda been havin a ball lol At least w/a closer look from you specifically in this vid, ill wait for a group of people to join in just in case something goes south :P thanks man! happy trails ^_^
Ryan Moreno I’m all over the place. Lol It’s a long tough trail. I ran Chiva the next day with a small group. Video coming soon and thanks for watching.
Great video looks like a lot of fun we will have to get together and run trails and make a couple videos for our channels.
Dont forget about me too, would love to join you guys
How do full size trucks do on this route? I'm thinking about doing it with a Power Wagon and Raptor. Guessing a few bypasses will be taken.
Thanks for watching. I definitely wouldn't recommend the Raptor trying it. It's not ideal for IFS or full-size rigs unless they're setup for crawling. I recommend 33's minimum with skids, good articulation and lockers. The bypass on the early steep climb is legit and there are several spots with large boulders and ledges along the way. I'm not saying it can't be done, just that I wouldn't do it myself.
@@xploremor Good to know. I do have 35s, skid plates, locker rear and torsen front, but I was worried about not having sliders. Don't mind pinstripes, but bashing my rockers in isn't appealing.
@@AM-ty9lp Sounds like it's well built. You're pretty long so I'm betting you might bash your rockers a time or two.
I witnessed a full size stock Chevy Suburban make it over the Gap. F'n crazy.
You bunch or grandpas and your automatic jeeps
