    My Mitsubishi pajero sport had its hand brake linings completely worn by about 50 000km's. and I had to have it replaced. I do light off road driving, beaches and usually easy off road tracks occasionally. Mitsubishi refused to replace it under warranty. I contacted head office and wrote letters, but they only stated it is a wear and tear component of the vehicle and they refused any warranty talk. But Mitsubishi and the dealership mechanics admitted that it should last much longer than that and that it is very unusual for it only to last about 50 000 km's. It cost me about $700 to be repaired by Mitsubishi dealership.

    Just experiencing the infamous cracked exhaust manifold on my 2017 Pajero Sport, just out of Warranty as well. Totally cracked through all the way around, symptoms were loss of power, sooting around the manifold, increased full usage. I think we have caught it before any serious ongoing damage of secondary issues have emerged. DPF Filter and down pipe coming off for an inspection and clean whilst the access is gained to replace the manifold. I believe this is a casting defect across Triton and Pajero Sport. 138000 Klms of highway driving, minimal towing and regular LOG Book Servicing didn't save my Paj. Worthwhile for others to note as there is multiple heatshield and baffle plates that hide the exhaust manifold making it hard to inspect. Cheers Dave

    I have a ‘17 pajerosport. Had my rear swaybar bushes replaced couple of months ago due to being worn out and more often knocking sound especially when going through uneven road. However i started to notice deformation after 3 months of use but no knocking sound yet. Prob the bushes are too “soft” or swaybars are indeed short. Great video. Am starting to get wary about my turbo hose too. 😂

    Pajero Sport 2017 towing 2.5t caravan from Darwin to Yulara in 45+ degs no over heating issues what so ever. 16.8l/100 calculated using wiki fuel app and empirical data. The Incab fuel usage was out reading 17.4-18.3l/100, Also for those that want to know how far a tank can go, well I filled up 62.7 litres! I'm guessing it's about 5% reserve placing it at 63litres.
    Nice to know about the intercooler hoses, can't say I've had any issues, but might buy some spares now.
    My gripe is how soft the panels are and how poor the paint is on plastic. All my side steps are worn through where you exit the car. And the interior centre console has worn through to black plastic. They didn't sand the plastic parts. Because I've had one side of the car resprayed in a minor ding and the side steps have held up. I've got tonnes of seat belt dints as the kids jam the buckle in the door, never had that problem in my old Nissan no matter how hard I slam it!
    I can't see there 7 year warranty holding up. I only have the five, but can't be stuffed taking it back to fix the interior & side step paint.

    Agreed about the towing. There is no way I'd tow more than 2 ton either with a PS. When I tow a heavy 14ft tinny and 750kg unbraked trailer with the PS, it does it beautifully but when I tow a bigger boat on a 1500kg braked trailer, I definitely feel it on the back and whilst it does the job, it feels like it kind of struggles.

    Thanks for all the awesome videos, mate. Very informative. Just bought a brand new QG Pajero Sport. After a 2 weeks of ownership and was less than 672kms, when I was driving a long at 100km/h on a motorway. All the sudden, I felt the car jerked a little bit, enough for me to feel something weird was happening. Happened again once more after about 1-2 mins later. Now the car is 4 weeks old and just under 1200kms and this is still happening randomly. I drive on a motorway at 100kph avg everyday to work and back, sometimes it happens once or twice some days 3 times, some days nothing at all. I'd be extremely surprised if it is an intercooler split hose already at this very early. Any similar experience? Thanks.

    Here in the Philippines, it is not too uncommon to see issues with the alternator pulley going bust prematurely. Majority, including myself have not had this issue but it's affected many owners enough to be considered a common issue.

    Im the UK and they call it the Shogun Sport over here, they are quite cheap to buy when compared to the Land Cruiser but after watching a few of these videos, I don’t think I would get one of these. Id probably get a used Subaru Outback instead. I don’t do off roading and I’ve had one of those before. If I wanted to go off roading I would probably just get a cheap 4x4 such as Fiat Panda or an old Suzuki Jimny or something.

    I like the 2003+ V6 3.8L motor versions we have a few of in the USA. I have two with over 225,000 miles, all original, no rebuilding. I've had all previous generations also, with high miles. They are better than Toyota, Nissan (way better), USA brands, and any European competitors I've driven, tested or owned. One thing to do when present ASAP: remove the secondary intake butterflies that are in the intake plenum, or fasten them with permanent thread locker or via welding. I just remove them as they do nothing. From factory, they commonly come loose and damage the cylinders or valves, around 135,000 to 160,000 miles, some sooner. Ask me how discovered this? 😆
    And spray any bushings with coconut or similar food oil, and suspension bolts with light anti-rust oil once a year. Will save your ass in climates with salts.

    Towing more then 2 tone is stupid! Wow it’s rated to 3.1 tone you don’t know what you’re talking about

    • @T.A.G
      @T.A.G  2 роки тому +7

      Yep. But what it's rated tow and what is realistic and safe are 2 very different things. Asking a small 2.4l to tow 3.1t is possible. But at what cost? Reliability, towing more almost double the cars tare weight is stupid, the little 2.4 is already highly strung just to get the power it has. Let alone ask it to push the weight of the car and pull an extra 3t
