I will never understand the double knobs, but proud of that person for trying to makeover these nightstands. We all have to start somewhere. Love how you transformed these!
@@aok2727 I remember my first furniture project with handles. The holes weren't the standard space and there was no UA-cam, or HGTV to show me that I could fill the holes and drill new ones. I just had to reuse the original ones.
Well done you, on not berating the previous owners of those drawers, it always gets my back up when people that are in the know on looking after furniture, rip apart somebody else's hard work, and by the way they look fab as always :P
Katie you are so dang good at this! Congratulations on how far the channel has come, and your skills. I totally love your content - especially that the structure hasn’t changed too much. The pacing is perfect, and it’s also really calming to watch.
Wouldn't it be funny if in five or ten years you found them in a thrift store and bought them to refinish again? I'd love that - simply for the fact that you could extend their lives even further! This is a great tutorial, and I love how they turned out.
i too appreciate your respect for the former owner's hard work and creative problem solving. one person's solution might not be another's, but we all start at zero and grow from there. no need for shade ever. your finish here turned out beautifully!!! what a fresh new look for this pair!! thanks for sharing your talent and kindness. the world needs more katies in it 💗
I love All of your work! The process of transformation is so methodical and consistent resulting in a fabulous end result every time. I also adore your amazing vlogging skills. You are so real, I feel like you live next door and we walk our dogs together. And the fact you work in your pyjamas and are proud of it! 😂 it’s the way I roll too! Thanks Katie for the hours upon hours your dedicate and share with us wannabes! You give us hope and inspiration!
I had to watch the end part twice because I couldn't believe it looked like a Woodgreen. Wish I could do that. I know you made it look so easy, but that's because you are good at what you do. Sue from Australia
They turned out beautifully! I love doing faux finishes and then watching the reaction of other people! I learned from you a different technique. Thank you for sharing 💖💖💖
Thank you for sharing this - I feel like you made the beautiful finished product look easy ❤ I’m gonna save an attempt at this for when I’ve had more practice 😂
Beautiful job! I have a tip to share. I use the bubble packaging I get from Amazon to put my brush in between coats. When I get a string of them from an Amazon, I trim off one side. Which creates a pocket for my paint brush. I then stuff them in an empty Kleenex box for easy access. I love you channel and have learned a lot thru you! Thank you!
Omg this is brilliant and so resourceful! My family makes fun of how much Amazon shipping material I have hoarded in my garage but it just seems so wasteful to trash it. Your idea for the plastic stuffing is great so thanks for sharing!
That Admiral navy, double-breasted knob situation was crazy. Your transformation is beautiful and this new look will probably be used for years and years. Good on you, Katie! Retique It always astounds me. So glad you used it here.
Thanks, Katie. I really learned a lot about the process and alternative materials. I want to use that finish on a coffee table for our shared cottage and an old rocking chair. Thanks again for your clear instructions.
I have seen this faux wood finish done once before. I was in the U. S. Navy on a ship the Captain's cabin two walls full of built in closets, lockers, and cabinets all of metal. While in the shipyard in 1971 someone came in and painted them all to look like wood. I was impressed, but I never (knowingly) saw anything like it again until watching this video.
Whenever I see this technique it takes me back to the early seventies when my mom went on an "antiquing" rampage throughout the house. This looks much better. Well done!
I started refinishing doing so many things differently then now but jumping in & doing is what is more important. I was happy you showed the same steps on all sides of the side table, while that may seem redundant to some, I found it answered a lot of questions for me. Thanks love the finish!
You are so good at choosing hardware. And, you're a genius at color/finish choices. It is fantastic that these two end tables are on their second reincarnation. Someone is going to snap them up.
Wow these bedside tables (as we’d call them here in the UK) turned out beautifully. I’d never have the patience to do this makeover and you have made such a great job of them. I just loved watching the whole process.
😮 WOWWWW...U DID AN AMAZING JOB ON THESE DRESSERS ..GREAT JOB 👍THXS FOR SHAREING 😊 KEEP UP THE AMAZING JOB THAT U DO..LOOK FOWARD TO SEEING UR NEXT VIDEO 😊
Had a little chuckle over the pottery barn name for the comp nightstands, we live about an hour from Toulouse in SWFrance. I remember this technique from late 70s but love how yours look. Subtle, which previous incarnations were not, in my house anyway! Well done Katy. Those awful double knobs are history .👏👏
Another lovely project Bu well done as a former interior designer you are one of the craftsman I would have been more than happy to recommend to clients very well done dear. Congratulations.
Thank you for addressing and showing details of how to handle the vertical & horizontal sections. Most videos I’ve seen haven’t shown this. Love your videos & projects!
I will never understand the double knobs, but proud of that person for trying to makeover these nightstands. We all have to start somewhere. Love how you transformed these!
When you can’t find a single knob that fits the holes.
I always chuckle when I see 2 knobs used like this. How hard is a trip to Home Depot or Walmart for normal sized pulls? They can be so inexpensive!
Nicely done Katie, as always a great dupe!😊
Gorgeous!

Great job, as usual. And who knew they make adjustable handles? What a wonderful world we live in!

BEAUTIFUL job!! I'm super impressed with the all new look!!
Beautiful, as always i like your positive approach to all your work and appreciating the previous owner however bad it was. Very good attitude.

Thank you, Katie for the drawer trick. I have a night table whose top drawer refuses to come out! I'll try your advice tomorrow.
Whenever I see this technique it takes me back to the early seventies when my mom went on an "antiquing" rampage throughout the house. This looks much better. Well done!
Katie, you really do have the magic touch!!!
What an improvement!
I started refinishing doing so many things differently then now but jumping in & doing is what is more important. I was happy you showed the same steps on all sides of the side table, while that may seem redundant to some, I found it answered a lot of questions for me. Thanks love the finish!
