I really need and love your channel. As a single female, buying a car for me creates anxiety due to the facts that we are taken advantage of a lot of the time. Your channel is building my confidence and preparing me to make another purchase. I appreciate you taking this topic on and making it fun and exciting for all.
EXACTLY. No normal consumer wants to go into a game of wits against someone who basically has all of their time, skills, and development devoted to figuring out how to fleece the customer as much as possible. It's a complete joke.
That's all they do day in and day out. The customer comes in for one purchase every few years or longer. An unscrupulous dealer has all the advantage. It's a business plan that favors one side of the transaction right from the beginning. The Service Departments might even be worse..........
I have no problem getting into a "game of wits" with a car salesman. I know who is going to win that one. I have the attitude that I don't NEED a new car. Today or next year. I would like to have one if we can reach a reasonable deal that works for both of us.
I really hope these car dealers crumble to the ground so we don’t have to deal with them. It’s been a pain trying to buy a 4Runner they tried to charge me 17g over msrp
That’s a good deal my neighbor die hard Toyota owner spent 20k over msrp and 9k on dealership add on total 29,000 over msrp for a forerunner insane but he is proud he got one I wouldn’t
@@walta8986 I know a few Toyota dealers that have zero markup, but you must see a new salesman who has not yet gone through their "sales" training where they learn how to lie without remorse. It is ALL about the bucks.
@@crimestoppers1877 almost all the Toyota deal ships in Norfolk Virginia area are crooks they own other manufacturers dealership too I’ll never by a new car from any of those dealers also
that gentleman who went to the Kia dealership and was told to just leave needs to call his state attorney. Most states have laws about advertising for sale a vehicle that isn't for sale on the lot. where I live, a dealer was fined over $100,000 several years ago for doing just that.
I went to a local Subaru. We are or were settled on a Subaru. We just didn’t know which one. The sales manager was mad that we kept coming back to test drive cars. I tried to explain to him that we were trying different models so we can make a decision but he wasn’t having it. He basically berated me in the middle of the dealership. I am not a young person and I was there with my wife. I will never go back to that auto mall. In fact I put the brakes on buying any car. Right now I would rather ride my bike. Btw they try to charge 10% over msrp. I would much rather just deal with the manufacturer and order directly with them.
In the end I guess they don’t want a paycheck with zero customer service. Not like we’ll be the ones driving it daily for several years, what’s this guy thinking?.
Years ago, I went to test drive some cars at a Toyota dealership. I told the sales rep that I was testing cars and hadn't made up my mind yet. When it was clear that I wouldn't be buying that day, he ushered me into another sales rep's office. This big guy entered, sat down and spent the next 15 to 20 minutes, angry, wanting to know why I wasn't eager to buy anything. I left there, vowing never to buy... or even set foot in that dealership ever, ever again. It's been over 12 years and no I've never been back there.
Curious to know where you are. I have dealt with our local Subaru dealership and they aren’t anything like that. If you’re close enough to where we are maybe you could give him a call.
@@jasonmartinez9051 Interesting because I had a similar experience with our Lexus dealership six years ago. But since then the management has changed the sales manager is gone and the sales person I dealt with is gone, too. I went This year and it was a complete turn around. The sales person even brought in his wife’s vehicle so we could at least sit in a 2022 Lexus NX because they’re very hard to find. Then he accommodated our request to test drive a 2021 because that was the best we could find to see how a 2022 NX would behave.. Completely different story. In the end we did we went in a different direction because we really didn’t like how the SUV felt but I’d recommend this dealership any day now.
Let me add this....I love the relationship you guys have. My dad is a far better man today at 70 than he was at 20 when i was born. He and my mother never married so I barely knew him but I really enjoy the way you guys genuinely enjoy one another. Also this channel absolutely would not be the same without your presents Ray. I'm dealing with a warranty repair process with Ford right now on a 22 F150 and to say these dealerships have gone even further away from what they used to be is an understatement. It's like they all know their end is near and they're trying to squeeze every drop of profit out of people and Ford as possible.
A family member has 22 king ranch that has been in and out of service center since last year. Whats your issue if you dont mind me asking? Hope its not a fuel injection issue where the truck randomly decelerates.
Dealerships will be reduced to "Service Centers". This assumes Auto Makers can get STATE LAWS CHANGED on how they sell their vehicles. Maybe "Test Drive Centers" combined with the "Service Centers", order online and pickup at your Service Center?
Earlier this year I turned in a lease on Durango RT. I told the dealer if you give me a good deal I’ll walk out of here with 2 cars. I told him I wanted to lease jeep Willy’s and a charger RT. We started working on the jeep and he came back with a lease offer of 675 per month for 48 months at 10k/year. It was almost 100 more than the Durango and they wouldn’t eat the 450 in overage in miles. I’ve bought 4 cars from this local dealership and knew the finance manger on a first name basis. I thought he was joking. My credit is above 700. They didn’t even care that I walked out and told them I’ll never come back.
My girl needed a bank statement and stub last week and I was worried about her not getting a new car frm the dealer 😴 but everything good now only because of deelscafe good work 👍.
We need a way to fight back against the dealers! Do we harass the manufacturer, slam their google ratings??? Can you give us contact numbers for the manufacturers to file complaints against dealer groups?
Great show as always, you guys have such a great dynamic that makes the show informative and also funny. I was watching TV earlier today and I saw an ad come on for the new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer…..when it came to the “starting as” price I almost fell off the couch….the STARTING price was 89K…EIGHTY-NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS, for a Jeep? I have nothing against Jeeps, but when did their reliability and overall quality under Fiat get to the point where they can ask roughly 100K (with options) for their vehicles. This is getting ridiculous.
Here is what I see shaping up - the car manufacturer is under a lot of stress to build cars to be paid on - taking lower profits, having many hard challenges; yet the dealer is taking advantage of this and ends up being the one to reap huge profits under a lot less stress (or actually doing really any selling, and instead taking bids really on writing an order). The "brands" are going to increasingly feel betrayed and taken advantage of by their supposed "dealer partners".
The auto makers able to push cars out are bagging record profits. Once the supply chains get back up to snuff automakers and dealers are both going to profit huge by being smarter about managing supply.
Definitely the last dealer I dealt with right out the gate 3k applied to advertised price. Then wanted a 699 doc fee. And the tags title license was an estimate not an actual amount
I called a Hyundai dealer today for a Santa Cruz. He quoted me $5K OVER MSRP! I don't have to buy a car/truck, and I won't with these practices - this was Costal Hyundai in Melbourne, FL. Sales manager called me back and I just laughed. I told him to call me back in 3-6 months when the market collapses.... Another dealer was charging $1K over....
I’m in the business. I quoted a guy msrp on a vehicle (I’m at a luxury store) back in January. He did what you did and said give me a call when the market drops out in 6 months. Naturally I tossed his name and figured he’s not worth it. Last month a co worker took his phone call and informed him we can’t do msrp anymore it’s going to be 2500 over…..we have 6 new cars on the lot to sell and there isn’t many coming any time soon. This is very simple folks, limited supply drives prices up.
@@cat-le1hf Has nothing to do with how I feel, it’s simple economics. I can see our pipeline we barely have any cars in production. In my opinion going forward the manufacturers and dealers will prefer to do biz this way. Before dealers would cut each others throats on new cars just to move a unit, literally making 2 or 300 bucks on a new car if even that to move it. Consumers has the luxury of simply calling everyone and getting “their best price”. Now dealers don’t have to do that and they don’t care how long it takes, with rates going up I doubt they want a big new car floor plan.
I wish someone would make a channel and/or content exactly like YAA has for buying cars, but for CAR INSURANCE: buying, negotiating claims, etc etc. That would be the perfect compliment to the knowledge and goal of YAA.
Thank you for featuring my story! I’m going to try to be more firm and hopefully turn the situation around. If not, it’s not the dealership for me and I can hold off on buying a car. I was nervous to ask for the manager and that’s where I went wrong ☹️ But I still went ahead and gave the deposit knowing it was refundable and at least my name would be on the list
I think that YAAs response to you might be a little off. Near as I can tell Hyundai doesn’t have very many models that are 2023 up on their website. It is quite possible that the dealer doesn’t have the price sheet yet either. In which case if they have to order a 2023 for you Or wait for an allocation for one that matches your needs, I’m not sure how Hyundai does these things, there isn’t much else they could do but what they’re saying.
Cor Gi and Zaynah are right....KNOWLEDGE is power. I did a "Rate the Dealer" on Parks Chevrolet in Richmond. They had about five dealer mark-ups on items I know I did not need...especially the Lo-Jack! HA! I've been watching your show, role-playing videos, dealer school and Saturday evening shows. I got smart on the whole process and was able to "take on" the sales rep and then his sales manager. I went in and informed them I did not want anything but negotiated the tint as I was going to get that done anyways. He informed me he could not budge and would not. I politely let him know I understand and "walked" as this was done via email/text. I left one final quote when I let him know, "a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush." About an hour later he texted me and said that we would do my deal. Again, keys are RESEARCH and knowing you're okay walking away! Love your shows. Keep up the great work informing us all.
We have two local dealers in my small town. One has Ford, Lincoln, Dodge Ram & Chrysler. The other has Chevrolet & Subaru. Between all those brands they have maybe 15 new vehicles, all high end 4X4 trucks and SUVs. The Subaru deal has no new vehicles.
Like I have said before on this channel. Dealers need to transition into a demonstration center model, like a car centered Best Buy. The staff is composed of " product experts " whose only job is to help the customer choose the right car for them. NO COMMiSSIONS ! No mark ups! There are cars in stock to test drive. The rest are either custom ordered from the manufacturer or a streamlined popular optioned versions pre shipped. Repairs are done in a warranty center other non covered repairs are done by outside shops. No more inflated prices, staff is paid a flat rate.
@@blinkin548 and that is what can be said about other places such as the Apple store yet people work there. Yes a lot of people will leave but will be replaced by others. I am just tired of dealers marking up past MSRP. My sister went looking for a car yesterday. Piazza Acura of Ardmore PA threw in a doc fee and had the audacity to say this is what keeps the lights on LOL. Luckily she said no thanks and walked out. Another dealer Elite Acura of Limrick PA marked up a car by 5k over MSRP as market value. Then sends a internet quote of MSRP!
@@npolite22 and what about Tesla? The model shows you aren’t avoiding a mark up. Try finding the model 3 for 30k these days. They did a 25% markup without calling it a markup. It was the new MSRP. As the market goes back to reality you’ll probably see the model 3 under 40k again.

Hey! Hey! Ray! Your comments to the FTC are Right On Point !! Full Disclosure and Transparency!! This should apply to the Automobile Industry and every other industry operating in the USA
There is a shortage of cars so potential buyers are basically competing to make a purchase so dealers have become lazy and their greed level has been raised. Until there are more cars than buyers that won’t change on it’s own.
How is this idea for dealer reform laws... In some states, say for example, you are charged $2.99 for a can of soup at the grocery store and the soup was clearly marked on the shelf as on sale for $1.99. By state law the store has to A: Refund you the difference PLUS a percentage of the discrepancy or B: give you the item for free. If this law was extended to automobiles based on MSRP and or advertised pricing, then this would go a long way to eliminating predatory dealers and make the car buying process a bit less unpleasant.
There’s an inherent problem with order-only dealerships; a great many cars are sold when folks simply stop to “look around.” The appeal of taking possession of a vehicle you love immediately, is motivation to accept the increased payment or cost of the new car. How many deals would fall thru, or simply never happen, if people had to wait for weeks or months for their new car? A dealership would therefore sell ALOT less cars, as would the manufacturer of course. Now perhaps this new paradigm will work in the alt economy we’ve been experiencing wherein both production and demand are on a permanently declining trend.
You've got to ask... If that's how 'sales' treats potential buyers (and at this point presumably they want your money), what do you think 'service' will be like when you've bought it? I've never understood how dealerships get away with what they do. Their attitude and treatment of customers DIRECTLY REFLECTS on the parent brand. Be that KIA, Jeep, Ford, Toyota, BMW, pick your manufacturer. They have one chance. They can treat me well, or treat me like crap. And if they do treat me badly, they're very likely to turn me off the brand altogether. The manufacturers need to take note. Treat me well and you might have a customer for life. Treat me badly and you'll never get my money. This is marketing 101.
Don’t argue with your dad. Ur lucky to have him. It’s not that serious. This podcast and the YAA business you have is because of his knowledge. He can be late if he wants. Chillax and appreciate this ride.
Here in the UK i have had more bad experiences than good with car dealers. I have been what felt like "escorted" out of the showroom on far too many occasions. You soon learn which dealers to avoid, this limits the brands you can choose from unless you are prepared to travel a long way to find a good dealer. There is some tie up between certain brands and the attitude of their dealers. The worst i have found are the German brands, the dealers are very brusk and the chances of getting a good deal are slim. On the other hand, Skoda dealers are mostly good, the better ones treat you as a valued customer, so why can't all dealers treat you this way? Car dealerships have killed themselves, reputation matters, it can take many years to build up a good customer base, it can be destroyed very quickly.
Hi, Brooklyn here. I have at least 2020 Volkswagen Passat and I want to add my lease earlier. I found a good deal. It was 2014 Toyota Venza had one owner to deliver us asking $14,000 and the car had around 86,000 mi. It was fully loaded with that sunroof. We agreed. I got to drop my car over there. They're going to take over my lease and then I'm going to just make it some payments for that. Venza. When I supposed to come the day they call me in the morning and they said we could have been sold. I said with myself okay let's try something else. Then they call me at noon same day and said that the vehicle is not available just because it has some issues they were not being able to fix it. Then I got frustrated cuz they been lying to me about the vehicle being sold. They were lying to me about the condition of the vehicle. Eventually I realized It was a bait, because there was the only one car at that dealership for the reasonable price and a lot of guys been calling about it and the salesperson reach me out and he was giving me something way different for more money. He was giving me three owner 150,000 Ford explorer for 15 or 16,000. And I realized that it's just a trick to take more people inside and just to track them and give them the old used and abused inventory. They want to get rid of it.
Selling Lexus here in Minnesota (Napelton dealer) dealers didnt know how to sell or prices packages on cars. They just used ranges. It was hard to customers to buy because they thought newer models were coming in 2019. Quit because managers didn’t know what customer would buy or didn’t want to buy one just looking. Waste of time 🤣 High turnover because dealer didn’t support salesman.
I've tried to email the chevy dealer asking for information, they don't respond. All they do is send me chevy commercials. I did go to the dealer to look at a car. It was a nightmare. I made a good offer which was turned down. They let you know that they are in the driver's seat.
I have a list of these unethical dealerships that I will never buy from or recommend anyone to goto. I am a master technician for 30 years and lots of people ask for my opinion on which dealership to goto..Now I only send these people to ethical dealerships that is doing the right thing on these hard times.
Lets be honest here folks. The dealerships are ripping people off because most people walk into the store with anxiety and FEAR. these 2 elements alone will prompt the dealer to screw people. Not asking for manager when sales reps are rude or continuing on after being disrespected is training the dealerships to be evasive, elusive, disrespectful, DISHONEST, etc. The consumer has created a monster because they are too weak to stand their ground and/or they have not done their homework about the dealership, the F & I and even the particular vehicle they are interested in and the car-buying process overall. Its not like going to REI and purchasing a canoe folks. PERFORM DUE DILLIGENCE! Dont rely soley on youtube channels either because even some of those have dealerships behind them.
Make sure you as a Customer Do some basic research about the Car you are trying to buy, Because if it's a Brand new Design remember the first few years can be a little touch and go with reliability, Some brands do A lot better with Recalls and Warranty situations, Others can really leave a bad taste with Vehicle ownership, YAA has a lot of great resources on there site, A little research can save a lot of stress in the Future. Some of the best info is annual Cost of maintenance this can Vary by alot, Because all poorly maintained cars end up unreliable even if it's a Lexus.
Here's the way I see it. Americans don't negotiate prices for anything except cars and homes. In other countries people negotiate every day for small daily purchases and are therefore more comfortable negotiating. American buyers are unfamiliar with negotiating, but the salesperson is a trained professionally skilled negotiator. Whether actual or not the buyer feels like they are being taken advantage of.
Why are dealerships charging thousands over market price and the poor cars have manufacture defaults? Such as Hyundai excessive oil consumption or Ford oil leaks. After so many years, looks like the car manufacturers could make a car and get it right.
Almost all dealers are just sleezy now. There are a few good ones, but they are very rare. Was looking for an EV in my area. Two Hyundai dealers. One had 10k markup, the second had a 5k mark up. The Kia dealer had a 3k markup, plus a required add on called “pro pack”, which is $1295, but never mentioned on line, in ads or in person until closing. The Bolt dealership had their cars marked down by $5900 as that was done by Chevy, but then added back 5k as added dealer markup. It is honestly impossible to get a straight answer from anyone. I stopped at the VW dealer to get info on the ID4, but was told that I have to call and set an appointment to even talk to anyone. Not one EV6, Ioniq 5 or ID.4 listed on a dealers website was on the lot nor available. Not one.
There is a Silver lining to working with a new salesman. If they have not yet been to a sales training they have not yet learned how to tell the Big Lie in their business. A new honest salesman can be a way to buy a car at MSRP and no dealer addons.
@@khabbad Yes, but in my situation this new salesman was in a protected class. The Dealer needed this employee to meet their HR employee quota "statistics" ( Diversity, Inclusion, Equity).
If car manufactures end up selling all or the majority of their cars online it would be nice if they had an annual car show so people could see what the cars are like in person or better yet if they had a car lot with a limited number of each car so you could test drive them and look at them before you buy online.
I cannot believe how much people were going to pay for a Bronco, the vehicle sucks and has mechanical issues. They were paying 20k to 30k over MSRP. Does not matter how much money a person makes, paying for an overpriced car that will lose 20-30% off MSRP plus add on the money you paid over the MSRP, that is how much you are in the hole. I think a lot people were impulse buying these cars and wanted to be the 1st one to own it. Now the feeling is wear off, they were dumping their cars on the market shortly after.
This. If manufacturers profited on each car on the percentage of profit to cost of what Apple does for each I phone, they would be the top wealthiest companies in the world. Buuuuuuut, nobody complains when they go buy an iPhone now do they?
That potential buyer of the EV6 is living in a dream world. All EV6's have been sold out for the foreseeable future period. The only way to get one is at an inflated price. I don't know why people believe that MSRP is carved in stone - it is not and never has been. The fact that for years people paid much less and now for many models they pay more.
Since February, I've tried to buy a 2022 Veloster N in Texas. Only twice have I found dealerships wanting to sell at MSRP and both times I wasn't able to purchase the car fast enough. I've been sooooooooooooooooooooooooo frustrated in trying to purchase this vehicle that I'm about to give up entirely as its stupid why a dealer won't help me order or trade for the car that I request. Why is it so hard to find this car?
World Economic Forum by 2030 you will OWN NOTHING. You will be a slave if you are still alive! Good News, All evil people will be destroyed... There is hope
I want to see the order video as I'm looking to buy either a corolla or civic hatchback with a 6 speed and I'm figuring I'll have to order that unless I'm lucky
I doubt you will be able to order either one, per se. Those Japanese manufacturers don’t do make to order. Instead you give your requirements and wants to the dealer and they try to find you a car in their incoming allocation that’s a good match. That was an OK model when inventory levels were high, but it sucks when they can’t keep up with demand. You end up with waits that are indeterminate, prices that can be a surprise, and it makes it hard to match one brand against another.
Interesting about sales person turnover. Here in my town that doesn’t seem to be happening. Now one salesman I worked with did retire. But aside from him, of the dealerships that I visited (three overlapped with 2016) all of the people I had worked with in 2016 when I was choosing a vehicle are still there. One of them is now the sales manager. I guess my town really is 100+ square miles Surrounded by reality.
Stupid question but why do we need dealers to buy a new car. I get if you want a used car. Why can't we call the manufacturer directly. We build the vehicle they tell us what they want and we buy it.
The same reason you don’t call the manufacturer for anything else you purchase. You don’t call kitchen aid to buy a mixer. You don’t call Sealy direct to purchase a mattress etc
Yes car dealerships are changing and not for the better. My husband and I have been long time customers with one Ford dealership for over 25 years with one employee. We bought at least 15 vehicles through the years for both commercial and personal vehicles. We are electrical contractors and even gave them great deals in the past for property renovations as their place was growing through the years. We are retired from the field a few years ago. So when my husband suddenly got severely sick and was hospitalized for 6 weeks. My older truck’s engine went during that time and couldn’t be repaired. I went to them with one of my husband’s friends who was a car salesman for a few years and knows the game and gave me moral support. I went to my usual sales person that I knew for decades for help and they wouldn’t even give me a decent deal for a used vehicle I was looking at even after his friend mentions the price was at least $3500 is way off of what it should be based on the online prices. I could see my sales person was upset but I don’t think it was him that was allowed to change the price. He even went to the “boss” and came back with no change. My husband’s friend pushed them harder to remind them that we were long time loyal customers and my husband was in the hospital and I needed a vehicle to continue to drive the 45 minutes to the hospital everyday. They said nothing and just walked out of the room. I felt so betrayed and hurt by that after YEARS of being their customer. My husband was furious and didn’t need the stress. We ended up having a friend rebuild the engine for us and I borrowed a family member’s car for 10 days. So after that awful experience I decided to never deal with car dealerships again and try to go online even after they dealership tried to contact me after that interaction apologizing. I had a deposit on the truck and demanded to get it back which they did send me the check buy from that moment on I realized there’s not loyalty anymore and it’s cut throat that I will go online now on or a dealership that doesn’t fudge the numbers. I will walk when that happens.
Frankly I don't want or need a relationship with the car sales guy. This is like buying something on Amazon. That is why so many on line car dealers have shown up. With what we can do on a computer today there is no need for a dealership or sale person giving people a hard time for nothing.
I just got done dealing with the dealership today over 2020 Telluride with 40,000 miles on it and they Jack the price up for what they advertised it for over the weekend while they let me wait cuz they said they couldn't get a hold of anybody to finance and then when I go back to get the car they mark it up 50 Grand from 47 to 50 in a matter of 3 days walked out I'm never going back to another dealership again I'd rather ride a bike. These Kia guys be thinking their cars are better than gold and they're fairly new to the industry. The only good thing I can say is I walked out not 50 Grand in debt and with 2,000 bucks in my pocket still they can keep the car and let it rot on their lot
Hello and thank you for your videos. What's your advise in buying out a lease. Can I show up with a check made with the total payoff? obviously financed thru my credit union or any other finance company? Thank you in advance..

I as a woman find that I need a man with me so I am not taken adavantage of. is there a service that I can get a professional car buyer to help me with a purchase of a car?
WHY THE HELL is it so difficult to buy a vehicle? Why cant I go in and buy a vehicle like I buy a new tv or microwave?. Dealerships are a pointless splinter in the customers purchasing experience. Vehicles and real estate are the only buying experiences that are totally pointless and are designed only to take the highest amount possible and scam or con you in to spending even more. I've been trying to buy a used vehicle for 4 months now with a lower than average credit score and $4000 a month income and $500 a month expenses. And How are we suppose to get what our credit score really is? Transunion & Equifax are bullshit and Experian is not on any monitoring apps that are free and most of all the FICO score is constantly difficult and not easy to get and ITS ALL A BIG CIRCUS TO SKREW THE CUSTOMER OUT OF AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE. People with good credit only means that they previously paid their bills not what there situation is heading into the future. I raised my score 100 points in one month by stupid little things you can do for free. That itself shows how credit scores are bullshit. Whats amazing to me is that knowing that they are going to screw us we still go to the dealerships . Simply Straight Thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t blame the dealerships for your credit, trust me as a dealer I wish all of my customers have good credit so I can sell them a car. Regarding “scores” there’s more to a report than just a score.
@@khabbad well even paying everything on time for a year and tweaking stuff to raise it 89 points they still say no because im a 1099 employee and ive worked there for 18 months. The answers always no. theres nothing more I can do. Also what are they so worried about if I dont pay they get the car back and sell it again for 100% profit, right? Its just frustrating when Im doing all that needed and still not qualify.
The only thing I can say is that all people have a clue about buying a car. From insurance to finance and credit score. If I heard it right from you that a salesperson can be annoyed that the customer is unprepared. I don’t think it’s fair that innocent people are thought of that way. To me, the salesperson should help them anyways. It would be a learning experience for them and if you have done their jobs they may be back when it’s time to trade. I love this show and this is is the first I’ve heard negativity. Continue to throw negativity towards the dealership as always 🕺
At this point would it be better to buy a newer used vehicle of the street and get the funds from your personal bank, and have the chance of talking the price down from the seller?
Idk why anyone buys a Kia or Hyundai rn, The 2023 model stuff, it’s stupid I would’ve addded a few hundred dollars compared to a 2022 unless 2023 is a completely new model year. At my store we aren’t even allowed to collect a deposit without the customer signing it. Consumers need to take some blame, we keep buying over MSRP they will keep asking for it, if you don’t “NEED” a car please get out of the market for now
I just watched a YT vid from the Pres of Ford and how dealership's are on the way out of business. Tesla does all things with online model and the P of ford sees the future. As for buy a car and the Rep sez OK leave... Maybe rent the car for a weekend, some rental company's have we end rates. A guy can not remember his name said go on the last day of the year, a few hours before closing get a demo model. Sales ppl get various bonus$$$ and may move to a lower price with these buyer advantages.
I need some help, i drive a lot all day city driving and i need a new car for the same driving. I am poor very poor but i have a job and a 700+ credit score, the last time i bought a car i was ripped off in the finance department. What i need help with is what car to buy today, what car is going to last with hard city driving because my Kia is not holding up (not that i thought it would when i bought it)
Ok question. I tried to buy a truck from an other state and i didn't finance the vehicle through the dealership, i took the money out of my bank. The dealership asked me to give them my SSN and i said no. When i asked what is the reason they told me they need it in order to transfer the title of the vehicle from the company into my name. What do you think ?
@@chevy3mac In OHIO the have a state law that says you need to give your SSN in order to transfer the title .I learned that today but anyway you are right never give your SSN
When I bought my camry in late 19 toyota offered me 7% I told them to f off call my credit union and had it finances at 1.9% . Know what rate you are able to get before you go in. Don't let them screw you on the backend
Zach, this was gonna be an order for a 2023. Now I don’t know about that particular manufacturer and when they release their price sheets to the dealers, but it’s possible that they don’t really know. For example that is exactly the situation with Lexus right now. You you can get in line for a vehicle but they haven’t announced 2023 MSRP’s yet. So what is the dealer supposed to do?
I'm not sure of this, but didn't the car manufacturing the " Saturn "product years ago try the no haggle, set pricing way of selling cars. They even let people build their dream car on line, with price up front. They stopped doing business. Isn't this what Ford working toward? If so, Is it a good ideal to follow a failed plan of a past car manufacturer?
@@cube1us Interesting, division of GM. Makes me re think why Saturn disappeared. Maybe the program was too successful, and dealerships feared the trend would take off breaking up the "play house" they are enjoying. I assumed Saturn was a failed attempt, I ponder, maybe not so much.
How does a customer have any information about the actual amount of profit the dealer has built into the car? If I have this information, including the factory "hold back", I will be in a position to negotiate on price.
Hello guys! I have been watching your videos for a while and learn some amazing things!! I noticed you had a video on how to buy MSRP?? I miss watching it... Can you by any chance let me know how to buy MSRP without that them adding that $10,000 hike they're asking for..... At the beginning of the year making February of this year I bought a brand new 2022 Chevy 1500 Silverado.... I wanted to buy it outright cash or something like car broke down I wound up having to get the truck giving $25,000 of the Dell payment plus the additional $5 00 for the total amount of $25,500...... I have 7,900 mi on the truck now from February to August of 22..... I went to go trade it in they're offer was $23,500 for the trade in... Looking at a 3500 Chevy Silverado truck they just got in. The only problem is the vehicles that they got in or a small amount and they were all 2500 to 3500 they were diesel trucks. I don't like diesel cuz I don't know that much about them and I hate that they're turbo diesels. And the sales guy was telling me they had added a $10,000 price on the vehicle which I saw MSRP was $84, 000 plus and they were adding $10,000 to the sticker price plus the addendum sticker on a brand new vehicle.... When I bought the 1500 Silverado they were trying to do the same adding more to the sticker price plus the addendum sticker. But on the 1500 I told him to take all that bull 🐂 shit off and I would buy the truck!!! So I got the truck but I took the addendum sticker and the extra amount that they wanted for it.... I still feel I got screwed somehow on this deal I call the bank who has the title on the vehicle for a copy of the contract and matched it up to the copy of the contract that I got and it all matches up down to the price of a vehicle.... It took him the bank 3 months before I could get a copy of the contract that I have been calling for from the very beginning.... I want to trade my truck for a new one The service department tells me to wait till the 2023s come out but I kind of like the ones they got there but yet they're 2022s they're diesel the interior is nice and they're long beds and they're 3500!! So my question to the both of you how can I buy at MSRP without getting really screwed on the $10,000 added to the maroni sticker or the addendum sticker I know I did it once but the way you talked about it was totally different..... Any suggestions on how to go about having them remove the $10,000 upgrade in price they're trying to do??????? Trying to charge extra.
I agree it's the customers responsibility to know the cost of the car, their interest rate, and to have their insurance lined up. However, many car purchases are an emotional reaction and that is when dealers take advantage of uneducated customers. We should be teaching in high-school budgeting including in this subject should be how to negotiate a car buying.
I really need and love your channel. As a single female, buying a car for me creates anxiety due to the facts that we are taken advantage of a lot of the time. Your channel is building my confidence and preparing me to make another purchase. I appreciate you taking this topic on and making it fun and exciting for all.
Hell as a single man I still get anxiety every time I enter a dealership, I try to avoid them at all costs hahaha (they skrew us too)
You ain't special because your a woman they take advantage of men too
@Godchangesu well the inflation is real if youve paid attention to your grocery bill the last 2 years. Or the price of a car the last 10,20,50 years.
@@walta8986 I know a few Toyota dealers that have zero markup, but you must see a new salesman who has not yet gone through their "sales" training where they learn how to lie without remorse. It is ALL about the bucks.
It’s very easy, but from somewhere else
You can try rental Subaru and see how it fits.

Couple years they will be begging people to buy their cars.
My girl needed a bank statement and stub last week and I was worried about her not getting a new car frm the dealer 😴 but everything good now only because of deelscafe good work 👍.
This channel is gold I’m so happy I found it. Please keep putting educational content out. I will never buy a car the same way again.
You forgot Ford, GM, Chrysler stela it’s all pay union bonus end of yer let see how much they get to past if they get a lot they are ripping us off
@@future62 Well it could also turn out that they are getting all the low hanging fruit now. Could be tougher down the road.
Just a rip-off. How people pay this blows my mind.
$5k over MSRP in CA too.
With most cars turning into full electric. It should be sold at BestBuy
Anddd no one will work there…

Hey! Hey!

Love this channel. I wish I watched more of their videos before I buying my Subaru Outback from the dealer.
I would rather enter into a toxic relationship than go to buy a vehicle at a dealership. Wait, those are the same thing…
Your dad's comments at the start of every show injects the perfect amount of awkwardness and unpredictability that I love 😆
Can't wait for this to happen, deal directly with a Manufacturer will be the best thing.
Want to start looking at/for a new 4Runner….. I dread it more than going to the dentist….
Here in the UK i have had more bad experiences than good with car dealers.
I have been what felt like "escorted" out of the showroom on far too many occasions.
You soon learn which dealers to avoid, this limits the brands you can choose from
unless you are prepared to travel a long way to find a good dealer.
There is some tie up between certain brands and the attitude of their dealers.
The worst i have found are the German brands, the dealers are very brusk and the
chances of getting a good deal are slim.
On the other hand, Skoda dealers are mostly good, the better ones treat you as a
valued customer, so why can't all dealers treat you this way?
Car dealerships have killed themselves, reputation matters, it can take many years
to build up a good customer base, it can be destroyed very quickly.
I thought there were consumer laws in the UK that would prevent such treatment.
@@johnmackey3937 The dealers ignore the laws and taking legal action against them is too expensive.
Nissan needs to clean house and review their dealership outlets sales tactics as well. It's atrocious.
New rules are fine but strong enforcement and financial penalties is the key to protecting consumers.
The good old"middle man"! Always looking out for your best interest 😜
Despicable dealership behavior, I think a lot of this really surfaced with the lockdowns and shortages.
The salesmen doesn’t “pencil” the pro wing the manager does. Makes no difference if they are new or seasoned
@@khabbad Yes, but in my situation this new salesman was in a protected class. The Dealer needed this employee to meet their HR employee quota "statistics" ( Diversity, Inclusion, Equity).
Whatever happened to the $60k C8 corvette, that GM advertised ?
Just watch state governments take the dealership money and pass laws that further entrench the dishonest dealerships.
Also about getting a different vehicle when figuring the monthly payment don't FORGET insurance COSTS as it may go up BC it's newer car.

You guys are hilarious, but very good information you guys give out.
What do u consider bad? What’s the average mark up profit does each car make? Then how much does jewelry or furniture mark up??? Please advice
Start a "Boycott" of all car dealership's !
Yes they need to take the middleman out so we can buy direct from. The mufactor.
The Tommy intro was hilarious 😂
Apple Ford/Dodge in Shakopee MN gives you there price. No negotiations... but they do on the extras. Haha!!!
I am shopping for a used car and the price they advertise on Cargurus is not the price when you ask when you call them
Hello and thank you for your videos. What's your advise in buying out a lease. Can I show up with a check made with the total payoff? obviously financed thru my credit union or any other finance company? Thank you in advance..
Don't deal with the dealer. Deal with the leasing company. That's whoever you pay your payment to. Send the check to them.
Not sure if you covered this in other videos, but is there any room for price negotiations for ordering new Tesla? Doc fee or delivery fee?
No, they are no negotiation
I built the system (at the 26 minute mark,) Zach is describing in 1993 in Atlanta.. I’ve tried to reach out. I’m sure you guys are very busy.

I as a woman find that I need a man with me so I am not taken adavantage of. is there a service that I can get a professional car buyer to help me with a purchase of a car?
I want a 2023 Tahoe z71, should I wait or do it??
So 599$ for nitro filled tires is not a good deal?
I can't wait to buy my cars straight from the manufacturers. Dealerships are terrible.
Sheesh. I thought our Lexus dealer was nuts charging $99 for that.
@@Aryisk it’s not then it’s the banks telling them they won’t fund you. Word of advice next time you apply. Don’t put down self employed
Idk why anyone buys a Kia or Hyundai rn,
The 2023 model stuff, it’s stupid I would’ve addded a few hundred dollars compared to a 2022 unless 2023 is a completely new model year.
For the last few weeks now I’ve been wanting a scat pack challenger but now after seeing your videos I’m going to wait and see what happens 🤷🏽♂️
I need some help, i drive a lot all day city driving and i need a new car for the same driving. I am poor very poor but i have a job and a 700+ credit score, the last time i bought a car i was ripped off in the finance department. What i need help with is what car to buy today, what car is going to last with hard city driving because my Kia is not holding up (not that i thought it would when i bought it)
Oh good Lord. When I worked for a state agency we had press contact forms. Oh this reminds me too much of that. Yuck.
Someone answer this question please
never give SSN. or. bank Account.
Update: Today I am going to call the BMV and see if he really needs my SSN
@@chevy3mac In OHIO the have a state law that says you need to give your SSN in order to transfer the title .I learned that today but anyway you are right never give your SSN
@@kosmas9995 ok thanks. good to know.
All facts💯
Yeah you are saying the right things but it seems to be on the basis that the dealers give a crap about the customers. I don’t think they do. 😬
Good evening can you canceled LoJack on your brand new car.
That was Saturn, but it was a different era then. By the way Saturn was just a division of GM.
Emailed a few, hope it helps!
