The Romans conquered Britain over 2000 years ago, if an Italian came back now to England and claimed the right to land once occupied by the Romans.....we'd think he was joking.
It's not as simple as that. The Jews have had a continuous presence in the land of Israel for the past 3,300 years. However, over the last 2,000 years they have not had political control over the land - but they have always been present there. They were likely still a majority of between 200,000 to 300,000 under Roman and Byzantine rule and then afterwards their presence was concentrated in the main holy cities (Jerusalem, Safed, Tiberias, Hebron, ...) . Remember Jews pray towards the city of Jerusalem every day (similar to muslims who pray towards Mecca) . Throughout the middle ages, there are many account of famous Rabbis who moved to the Land of Israel (Maimonides, Nachmanides, Rabbi Yehuda Ha levi, Rabbi Yosef Karo, Rabbi Chaim ben Attar ). When the Ottoman empire took charge in the 16th century, conditions were more favorable for the Jews to return and many of the small communities began to grow (especially Safed!). By the end of the 19th century, over 60 per cent of Jerusalem's population was Jewish. When the UN approved the partition of the land in 1947, there were about 630,000 Jews which was 32% of the population - they were more or less granted the areas that had a high Jewish population (they were also given the dry Negev desert for some reason !) . They accepted the plan and established the first Jewish political rule over the land for a long time. So there was always some Jewish population there, but it was the first time in 2,000 years that Jews had political authority over some part of the land .

@John Smith As for your 'breakdown' of history. The Palestinians were there at the same time as well. Palestine was colonized by the Ottomans, then the British, and now the Israelis after the British handed them most of the land. As for the onset of violence, the head of state for Israel at the time admitted that they preemptively attacked their Arab neighbours. Also, before Israel was 'recreated', the territory of British Palestine was in chaos as both the actual locals and the Jewish refugees were basically in revolt. It's easy to paint the story as entirely one sided as you did, by leaving out more than half of the details.

@Bettina MN yea, you're talking about Israel right?

Those will only increase get used to it, that land was never yours
Last week I was walking down a road, I saw a big mansion owned by an old couple, I asked them if I could stay at their house and they were very happy to let me stay temporarily, as time passed they became more and more exhausted by my stay and I became more and more infatuated with their house. I even began to invite my friends to come and squat there, until we finally said one day this house is ours and locked them outside. I am an Israeli and that old couple is a Palestinian one. This is exactly what is happening in Israel and it’s how it will stay sadly.
Excellent allegory you summed it up beautifully.

Well spotted lol
To knock on someones door with military and police escort and say this was my family home 2000 years ago, I'm taking it now. Criminal
She sees no problem with how she feels and where she lives. "They just need to understand that I am right". She certainly sounds very German, if nothing else.
🤣
Pretty racist of you.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere....UN should think about it .
Speace and justice is not the same. UN is an organization for speace not justice, plus we all know the UN cannot over right a nation wish, they can only offer a table for speace talk
But that's not allowed to happen, it's a violation of international laws, but Israel can do everything they want and won't be punished in any term, USA will protect them, Europe will protect them.
British colonised India and some "rulers" made friend with locals But, British remained colonial masters and Indians remained "subjects"
This is same story in Apartheid Israel , where Israelis are Colonial Masters and Arabs are 3rd class citizens.
Since when is Israeli court rulings above international law?????
Ever since national law is the relevant law for a country. Check out other countries' law systems you'll be surprised
This is so wrong to inflict so much injustice and pain on innocent people, who have every right to be in their country is totally inhuman. We love you our brothers and sisters in Palestine 🇵🇸 May Allah Swt product you all.
I mean- Germany, if you feel so bad towards them, why not give them a piece of your land?
Most of these settlers have grown up in America, Germany wherever just go back!
I live in Germany and I am shocked that a women who recived good eduvation in germany thinkt like that. I know that everyone has an opinion and an opinion can not be good or bad but her opinion is beyond bad.
Eh, she's Russian.
That's pretty interesting to understand, how background sound is used in to fuel, emotional connection that how much these colonisers are suffering after occupying other's home, farm land and even their peace!
its disgusting that humans so easily see others as less human than themselves. wake up and realise that every human is human and that means they have human experiences and feelings and thoughts and should have human rights just as yourself, its not a difficult concept and should be basic logic for everyone

I think J is talking about the same people that you are.
Robustus your 100% right
It's not that they don't see them as humans, but are driven by their own survival.
Leaving Germany for that 😂🤦♂️
yea and she was born and grew up in different countries and cultures so its not like thats her original home and she missed it so much.. guess its the free land and all the perks that they get that makes them make the move to that like she explained herself
Her mere existence there is causing oppression on others.
Yeah could not believe it either !!!
I guess being trailer trash is acceptable if you are the chosen ones !!!!!
I know 😂
They are agents or atleast the ring leader and the rest are sheep that follow the leader.
It’s so weird how they want to live in poverty when they can freely go anywhere but Palestinians can’t
They can. You just need ID.
You shouldn't even be there. End colonialism!
Palestine is for Palestinians, if you wanna live there fine but don't taje their land and claim it's yours because it's not
Oh know they're settlers. No. They're occupiers.
Soldiers are occupiers, civilians are settlers.
@@dionysus8967 actually they whould be colonists, not settlers, since settlers implies the land is unowned.
Go back to where you came and give the land to it's owners. What injustice supported by USA, GB, and Europe.....what a shame!!!
LOL... Yeah like that is actually going to happen.
They want us to feel sorry for them for stealing Palestinian land and not enjoying leaving there ?
The oppressors have special place in hell
no.
She wants peace but she’s also a settler 😭 how clown!

Also War determines who is gonna rule the land and control the spoils, this is how Israel been created and this is why we have 4 Palestinian out of Palestine , and this is why Palestinians who still live in Palestine are second glass citizens, and this is why they can't prevent Israel from taking over their land and homes , therefore this is why Israelis enjoy much more resources than their opponents, let's not lie to ourselves, without the Israeli army , Israel would never be exist
@@jeffjeff5719 Without Israel Palestine would not be there .They supply water .They invent most things also they cultivated that land .Blame the Palestinian Government for the peoples problems.

Won't happen
Absolutely appalling. How could anyone steal a person’s home and not be morally bankrupt.
Validating two thousand year-old land titles certainly complicates things, just imagine if some native american tribe living in Honduras claimed Texas or if some aboriginal people living in Papua New Guinea claimed Australia that is how this whole thing must have felt in 1948.
Well and if they came back and claimed it what would you say?
@@ChayaTthat they’re clinically insane. It’s how the rest of the world has come to see Israeli society
Watching it again it is really disturbing. The lady settler is in a position of power and so can dictate whatever friendship she deigns to offer. It evokes an abusive relationship, where one partner has all the power and the other is forced to be loving, else their life will be misery. It's difficult not to see her as trying to put a pleasant face on human rights abuses. Perhaps the Israelis can etch smiley faces onto sniper bullets and paint them on checkpoints?
Very wild assumptions there man. Individuals can have relationships apart from politics.
Yeah thats a messed up way of looking at the world. Go back to the stone age.
@@tompeled6193 Not if one partner holds abhorent views.
True, I rebuilt my fence and pushed the fence over into my neighbors taking some land in the process. Now, they're suing me in court asking for their yard back. How preposterous of them
2000 years old 😂 at least they are talking. Its like having a guest who never leaves your house. As a semite myself i never claimed that part as my homeland. Poor palestinians i hope they get thier land back ❤❤❤
My god! Yournot brainwashed! Let's be friends 💜
I guess you have another one Reem lucky you we havent had it for a long time
It's sad when you think that the land owners are living in refugee camps
Thank you Germany and western countries for your blessings of Apartheid in our land.
