Hey. So, I had a Boss MS3, it has the same effects exactly as a GT10. Can it do pedal pitch effects. Yes.absolutely. Does it sound exactly like this. Not at all. It just doesn’t.
Hi Rhys. I hadn’t noticed that it had to be honest. Not to a problematic degree anyway. But I will say I’m not obsessive about tone so I may not be the best judge.
I have a question I've been trying to find an answer to, for a while now. I have two identical Whammy 4s that I run together (one for harmonies, one for bends/drops). They were both purchased new, maybe 3-4 years apart. One has a standard 9VAC power adapter. The other has a 9VAC power adapter of the same exact size, but this one has a small port that outputs 3VAC in addition to the normal 9VAC via the plug. Does anyone know what this 3VAC output is for? Thanks in advance.
@@TheGuitarEffect DigiTech has been purchased, but I believe the new owners plans to keep running the brand. I'll email them. One other interesting thing, is that there are two different DT part numbers for two different power supplies, but photos of neither of them depict a 3vac port, nor does any of the technical literature mention it. Come to think of it, you can only see it from a certain angle, and only on mushrooms... Ok, not those last parts. If I find out what it is, I'll come back and post about it.
Hey. Thx for the comment. I suppose it’s all down to personal taste. To me the whammy is supposed to be glitchy and imperfect. But that’s because of the way players I like use it. Others might really need the polyphonic thing available on the v5. I know you can pick up a 4 for a lot less than a 5
@@TheGuitarEffect for me also, the soul of whammy is the glitchy and there is another difference: the V have a less smooth and less wet detune, on V the end of the sound on detune die in a raw way and on IV it dies smooth.
It's a matter of taste. Maybe just how he likes to play. I undertand that it can mask the sound of the pedal he's reviewing, but honestly it doesn't really have much to do with what the pedal can do. I can tell you that I like mine. He does a good job explaining its functions. If you like RATM, well, that's how it sounds. Also Dimebag Darrell would use it to add extreme pitch to his hamonic squeals (play a natural harmonic and pull up the whammy bar and use the Digitech on the octave up setting to boost it into the stratosphere).
Merry Christmas to you and Happy New year. But I hope that you remember that Jesus is the reason as a season. Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That band is called Able Archer. You can check them out here. ua-cam.com/users/AbleArcherDublin
Unfortunately Able Archer split up about 3 years ago. My current band Kampala are here: ua-cam.com/channels/g-l5z43z-IXEzYGWQtXygw.html
Thx so much for subbing by the way. Really appreciate it.
@@TheGuitarEffect very cool man I will check it out. If you would check out my UA-cam page. I have a few guitar and drum things. I need to post some more stuff. I was in some bands for awhile. Now I just play at my church in the praise band. My dad plays bass. I started playing guitar at age 11 because of him. I saw him playing over the hills and far away on acoustic and wanted to be able to do that. At that moment music became a big love in my life. It started with guitar to piano and then bass and then to drums. I wanted to be able to do it all. I got divorced three years ago and went on a guitar pedal buying spree and bought a mandolin. Enjoy the rest of your week.
That’s cool man. Music does have a tendency to solve all of life’s woes! I’ll check out your channel now.
It's driving me nuts but I can't remember what song that riff is you're playing at 5:59. I just got my son one of these pedals (Gen 5) for Christmas and let him open it early today. He's having fun exploring already.
Hey man. Thx for the comment. That’s Iron Lung by Radiohead. Nice one on getting one for your son!!
AHHH. thank you. I thought it was Radiohead but I couldn't place what song it was. Appreciate it.
Got him a Jade Pearl Metallic American Standard Telecaster (2014) a couple years ago and he plays it every day :)@@TheGuitarEffect
Amazing. My son just learned jingle bells on the Ukulele. It’s a start!
Can you use this pedal to detune only like the drop?
Hey Douglas. You can yeah but the glitchy ness wouldn’t really work for that purpose you’d be better off with a drop.
You can get this EXACT effect; in a Boss GT10, GT100, etc. Save yer money.
Hey. So, I had a Boss MS3, it has the same effects exactly as a GT10. Can it do pedal pitch effects. Yes.absolutely. Does it sound exactly like this. Not at all. It just doesn’t.
I’ve heard this pedal does not feature true bypass. Is this noticeable when the pedal is off or does it change the tone
Hi Rhys. I hadn’t noticed that it had to be honest. Not to a problematic degree anyway. But I will say I’m not obsessive about tone so I may not be the best judge.
It doesn't have the greatest output buffer. It's nothing noticeable unless you are a big time gearhead.
True bypass or buffer??
Honestly mate. I don’t know. Never really been a concern for me if I’m honest.
Hey. I’ve never hear of that before but I’d imagine e it’s for some sort of external MIDI controller. But 3V AC is very odd.
@@TheGuitarEffect That's what I originally thought too, though for the life of me, I can't find a single one that runs off of 3VAC.
Mad! Maybe try emailing Digitech. Actually did they go under recently?
@@TheGuitarEffect DigiTech has been purchased, but I believe the new owners plans to keep running the brand. I'll email them.
One other interesting thing, is that there are two different DT part numbers for two different power supplies, but photos of neither of them depict a 3vac port, nor does any of the technical literature mention it. Come to think of it, you can only see it from a certain angle, and only on mushrooms... Ok, not those last parts.
If I find out what it is, I'll come back and post about it.
Ha ha. Only on mushrooms! Nice!
If someone wanted to have these effects in a multi effects pedal, what is the wise choice?
Hmm. The HX effects can do all this but it doesn’t do the glitchy sound the same way. Nothing does.
Duu... wee! Sold!:-7
That’s a technical term. 😬
watching the videos the whammy 4 seems to sound better than the 5.
Interesting. I must check that out
How is it infamous…you never explained that
Right on Right on!!!

Indeed.
Turn off the damn delay. Why do reviewers do this?
Sorry if that made the demo less useful for you. The artifacts sound better with the delay on to me.
Thx for that Spammburgers78.
Still is uninspiring
Ten four rubber ducky! 👍
Merry Christmas to you and Happy New year. But I hope that you remember that Jesus is the reason as a season. Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you don't know Jesus Christ is your savior I hope and pray that you accept him as your savior, now today. God bless you very much. Peter
Thx Pete.
