Virgil mentions that this is a prequel to the earlier episodes, but Will mentions his phobia of modern art. That phobia was acquired in the second episode, which is supposed to occur AFTER the events of this adventure. This is a clear retconning of the Tabletop Game Theory canon.

Sir, that is not a retcon, I served in the air force in World War I, as a troop, I can tell you that Will had a phobia of modern art from the beginning, but that phobia was cured at the end of this when they were all cured of their madness, and then he re-acquired the exact same phobia in the second episode. Boom! Headshot. This is canon. There is no retcon. Lib destroyed with facts and logic.

Seeing Felix dressed in an IDF shirt is, on the other hand, as normal as things get.
In the original scenario, there's a guy that works at a morgue who the neighbor is working with to get body parts, in exchange for supplying him with drugs. The journal entries that Virgil skips, besides the funeral entry, are the ones where the neighbor exposits on it. It makes sense for Virgil to have removed that guy to streamline the adventure, but I don't think it occurred to him that without that detail, there's no reason for Will, Matt, and Felix not to think that Jeffstein is just a murderer.

I hope Virgil comes back to be the keeper of another Tabletop Game Theory. However, if he doesn't and if Chris replaces him, I'm sure Chris would be great. Chris is hilarious on his own, he'd bring a different energy to Virgil's "as you know, I am a gamer" style. He does have a similar deadpan delivery in his locker. Anyway much love to Virgil, thank you for the Game Theory episodes, hope they continue in one way or another.

Question for anyone who's familiar with the campaign Virgil was working off of, is there any way things could have gone differently? It seems to me like the dry boys did some solid investigating, but is there a "better" ending than fight and kill the thing?
It’s a really diverse scenario, probably one of the best IMO. If they don’t intervene soon enough Man-Bagari (yog sothoths son) becomes strong enough and will kill Mr Corbitt (jeffstein) and will escape, and the investigators will be tormented by news stories of people being killed horribly. They can also feed and raise Man-bagari but he will turn on them when he is strong enough
There’s also a whole subplot with the crazy satanist hospital orderly who helps jeffstein. When I ran the scenario my investigators kidnapped and tortured him for information and dug up Corbitt’s family’s corpses to inspect them
I don’t know what kind of beer Virgil is drinking but I’d like one
