The hot couch guy house when I was in first year were some friends of friends who lived in a shitty town house in the run down part of town. The four dudes who lived there all worked at the same Taco Bell full time and were all like 24. I drank with them a few times and it always ended with someone vomiting in the bushes next to the house or else the cops showing up.
This was before HDTVs so they had this one massive rear projection TV that they all chipped in and bought on sale because none of them could ever afford it alone. There was this super dodgy stoner guy named Rodent who lived on their couch and never paid rent. One day, they all came home after work, there was a big crack in the TV screen and Rodent had a big band-aid on his head and no one ever actually found out what happened. It was a strange place.

I've had multiple hot couch guys in my life but probably the wildest was the one who lived in a metal garden shed. There was surprisingly a lot of space inside that thing. He later upgraded to an unfinished garage, then the final form was us renting a ghetto apartment together, I actually had that thing decked out really nice for the first year until it devolved into full on hot couch status. That lasted about 3 years until he quit paying his part of the rent and we got evicted. I managed to get my shit together after that and went back to college.

I lived on a hot couch in LA for a year in my teens. Overpriced student apartment with 2 bedrooms, 4 gay Japanese guys and a flamboyant Spanish dude. I was too cheap to get my own room so I slept in the living room. Looking back I'm not sure if those were good times or extremely depressing. Somewhere in between I guess.
I used to hang out at a house down the street from me which was absolutely this hot couch house. 2010-2012, the TV always had either a shitty ass movie or a Halo or Skate game, somehow always a 24 pack of coors light despite everyone being broke, we'd go outside every 15 minutes to smoke Marlboro 27's, homie had 2 snakes and like 3 dogs but one died because someone put lemonade vodka in it's water bowl and it literally got so sick it vomited itself to death but no one ever owned up to it, I was the only person who hung out there that had a job except for one dude who lost his job at gamestop because he stayed up until 11am playing minecraft on the xbox 360 and missed his shift for the 6th time, one dude who always walked barefoot and his feet looked like if you left a steak out in the sun for a week, and one dude stayed there for a month and gave everyone scabies. Very specific image for me

the one facet that i didn't hear anyone mention is waking up to the dvd menu music sounding different because your brain had tuned out certain parts of it from hearing the same 20 seconds of music on loop for 9 hours. i think that's one of the key components is the repetitive drone that proves extremely disorienting when you wake up.

So there's me, my girlfriend at the time, and my younger brother hanging out and we decide we want to go somewhere or at least get more people hanging out, so we hit up our buddy Camron (there's no e in his name, it's just Camron).
Camron tells us he's hanging out at Mikebob's house and that he's there with some apparently super cool dude named Timmy, and I'm like fuuuck I don't want to go to Mikebob's house. I was just really not in the mood. They both look at me and ask me "wait what's wrong with Mikebob's house?" And it dawns on me that neither of them have been to Mikebob's house. At that point I just decided that they should experience Mikebob's house for themselves, so I told them let's go and you'll see.
While we were on our way over Timmy got knocked over by Camron's girlfriend, falling into the coffee table and dislocating his arm while she promptly continued on her way to the backroom to pass out.
When we got there everyone was in a circle yelling at Timmy for being a bitch while he was on the floor straight up crying his eyes out, stating that his arm was fucked up. Being the only sober and sane minded people in the place we came into the room and I backed everyone away, helping Timmy up and asking if I could inspect his arm. He couldn't bring his hand away for more than a second but it was more than enough to see that his shoulder was indeed dislocated (for some reason he had his shirt off, it was plenty warm inside and all but it was the middle of winter and most of us still had our sweaters on).
We urged him to come with us to the hospital, but in his drunken stupor he sobbed that he was apparently having a good time with his friends and didn't want to go to a hospital. Okay bro.
There was more weird shit that happened in between that has to do with Timmy crawling across the floor like a crippled monster to attempt to sexually assault a young girl but this story is long enough as it is so I'm going to wrap it up with us having packed everyone in the car there that we wanted to hang out with in the first place plus the girl Timmy was creeping on and going back to my place to have a much more safe and positive kickback.
Needless to say, they got the Mikebob house experience.
