I love how Felix is on the front lines in a full-on firefight with multiple enemies and Matt is moaning about being useless behind a door and Will is doing opium under a kitchen table, occasionally lobbing molotovs and missing. It's literally just like the podcast.
In a way, Lovecraftian mythos is the perfect allegory for WASP mindset. Both profess a hierarchy of race, both are contingent upon the mind's ability to shape reality, and both are steeped in an all-consuming terror of inconceivable otherworldly horrors.
This makes me feel hella badly for Matt. He sounds miserable. Meanwhile, Felix clearly can do no wrong. It must be like when your older sibling is just schooling you in a game and any possible joy is just ripped from it.
Okay wtf at 1:18:40 the song is from an obscure Italian Giallo movie called The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh, the soundtrack of which I’m obsessed with. Who decided to put that in?!
Am I just imagining a similarity or does it sound like the occasionally repeating ascending chord in the Gran Torino theme (most easily heard at 1:25:47) is a major version of the frequently repeating ascending chord in the Saw theme (1:20:21)? I'm hoping to hear some music theory nerds weigh in on this bizarre coincidence.
Damn you have a good ear for not being a music nerd... So you are close, but the precise difference is: (1) c d e, c d e, d e f (2) d e f, d e f, e f g these are not chords, they are scale fragments, BUT both can be derived from the C major scale, only since the second theme starts on D, the ii of C major which is a minor chord, it does indeed imply minor versus major
@@nathanialmynameisajoke personal tastes, sure, and Spencer is absolutely amazing... but I think it may be the game itself and the characters, like Matt being forced to deal with a coprophagia fetish.
It's played at the ending of the Simpsons episode when Homer has an insanely hallucinatory trip after eating an ultra-hot chili pepper. IIRC the episode's ending scene is also a reference to the end of "Caddyshack," when Rodney Dangerfield says "Hey everybody, we're all going to get laid!" (El Viaje Misterioso del Homer" is the title, something like that. So an obvious choice in this context.

Look
"You somehow manage to woo her" is a sentence worth considering.
Turns out virgil likes to woo her too much
My God, was I ever feeling Mat in this. I think every table top player has been there.
sounds exactly like trying to teach my dad how to play a board game.
Matt is so defeated by this but by his own admission if he'd paid attention he'd be kosher
"as a bear of men, and I served as an otter under him". Lmao
😘❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽
How fucking dare you

"capone speakeasy" is the best chapo bit of all time
I won't stand for this neoliberal daycare erasure
It snaps me to attention every time because my last name is Capone. (was, at least. Now it's Prince Capone)

Probably the same one used in Kill Bill Vol. 2
"I kick over the table and use it as cover to smoke opium behind."
“ I love you..: I tell her that I love her” lmaooo
The song at the end is so beautiful lol
I fell asleep during the episode and woke up during it and I was entirely captivated.
1:08:02 this is what teaching my dad to play a board game is like.
Other than Matt’s Inebriated Past eps, these are only ones I’ve listened to multiple times
This is what anyone who attends a Turning Points USA meeting experiences.

Fucking love the Futurama gag with the painting of the safe but still very hack of you Virgil
If McClean is sperging out in his Gran Torino, where's the shotgun? Matt could've gone from useless to clutch if he was able to grab it.
Anyway you want it/That's the way you need it
Matt got discouraged, but he did really well.
Oh man. This is better than HarmonQuest
Virjunior I absolutely love HarmonQuest as well!
Mmmmmmm, not really lol. Mostly because spencer is a much better DM and dan harmon is a much more seasoned comedy writer

I am willing to bet 50$ that it’s Kevin MacLeod
Brass-eye esque opening theme that just. keeps. on. going.

Matt's little shitfit is so funny

What's the idea behind singing "Anyway You Want It" at the end? (aside from the fact that Will clearly enjoyed it, which I wholeheartedly endorse)

Haplogroups were not discovered until much later - unsubscribed. Also the term molotov cocktail was not invented until 1940 or so
Why stop there? Might as well list all the historical anachronisms in the video and list all the relevant factoids you know.
