This is up there among the best directed episodes I've seen. The montage of the 1000 years between Flamme's time and Himmel's is about 50 seconds, and the quick flashes of her journey with Himmel is 0.5 seconds. The 1/100th that changed her. Also yeah, Aura may have won if she played it safe and used her full army instead of attempting so early to use her perceived trump card.
Aura was playing safe by sending her army first. Most likely to see if Frieren's mana fluctuate during the fight; a sign of mana suppression. What she didn't expect is Frieren actually been suppressing her mana for so long, it didn't fluctuate no matter what action she took. We saw how Flamme did it. Flamme shown to release her mana when launching an attack. This is what Aura was expecting when she sent her army first.
In episode 2 there was a littlr montage with Frieren drawing a circle around Fern. Now we know why - to teach her how much to suppress her mana.Lugner saw exactly the same diameter in the begining of the episode
11:14 If I remember correctly in Episode 8, Lugner mentioned that there's a way for the one controlling the barrier to allow them to enter the town that's why they're not killing Granat right away.
It's my headcanon that the reason why Frieren is such a slob and wakes up late in the day is because she's exhausted from always hiding her mana. She may have refined the technique to almost completely hide her mana but the energy to do so remains the same.
Frieren: Aura, KYS.
Milet: 🎶 (and) you alright? 🎶
This is my favorite episode to watch reactions of. Thank you for sharing 😊

I don't know if she'd have won considering Frieren keeps some stuff hidden for rainy days but it wouldn't have been that easy and effortless.

Flamme doesn't get tons of screentime but every time she shows up it's amazing. Definitely my favorite side character
Now you know why frieren is soo tired all the time....
You love Himmel. Just you wait for episode 14. Better have tissues ready
It's out on Patreon now if you wanna see 😉

And you're alight... Nope. Aura is not alright. You were unsure on the story on ep1. But they blend the back stories so well in this series
4:26 and Frieren sleeps a LOT. The poor autistic elf girl is probably pretty tired much of the time.
