This works great! After one year almost to the day the lid separated. I replaced the lid back on by positioning it correctly, and then I used a pair of needle-nose pliers to re-tighten the middle part of the hinge, that part attached to the lid, and that fixed it. My Ekobrew Stainless Reusable K Cup is back in business. While it was broken I bought something similar that wasn't Ekobrew, though it was called Elite. Turns out when I got it from Amazon, it didn't work. It actually blocked the fflow of the water. The lid didn't have that plastic cone with the holes drilled through it. It had a simple hole in the middle of the stainless top. So looking on the internet for this Ekobrew, excellent coffee holder, found that it could be had at Walmart for under 10 bucks. But sadly, Amazon no longer had it. That's why I bought that non Ekobrew "Elite" replacement that didn't work. I'm in the process of replacing that 20 dollar mistake. I'm ordering two of the original Ekobrews at Walmart for the 20 bucks that one faulty holder cost me at Amazon. I've tried plastic coffee holder and none of them lasted very long while making about 6 coffees a day. But this Ekobrew is still going strong, though I am a little easier on the lid than I used to be. I wish these Ekobrews would be available once again on Amazon. What's up with that Ekobrew? Why not? You've got the superior product.
from previous reviewer "Started with the plastic ekobrew and found I had to use paper filters with it. Since ordering and using the stainless steel version though, filters are no longer required and I am completely happy with the cup of coffee I get."
I just got this Ekobrew and I'm totally IMPRESSED with making a stronger cup of coffee. When I first got my kuerig, I was looking forward to all the flavored coffees, but was disappointed with weak coffee. Definitely will be getting extra Ekobrew filters.
got this based on your review, and finally I have a nice strong cup out of my Keurig. Love the Keurig for the variety of product but for the day to day cup ($$) this is great. Keep up the good work!!
I have tried the same taste test. I DID taste a difference between the 2 types of of brewing. Unless you can grind the "canned" grounds finer, it will easte weaker. I used Folger's Black Silk, grounds & K cups. Tried different measures of grounds. To me the K cups had a richer taste.
This is our take on the EkoBrew: the majority of this refillable capsule is stainless steel which provides strength. The amount of plastic is minimal and no doubt required to ensure the total functioning is reliable. Don't worry about contamination from the plastic - you will breathe in far more contaminants when driving your car or walking down the street! The standard Keurig capsules have a paper liner built-in which prevents any sludge from entering your cup - nice touch. If you want sludge-free Ekobrew coffee then simply place a paper filter inside before filling it with your ground coffee. The only disadvantage to the Keurig machine is the low pressure which does not produce that desirable 'Crema' you get with a Nespresso. However, most people can live without the gimmicky foam on top of the coffee they are drinking. Hope that helps.
Great review, I just purchased the latest version of the ekobrew and no longer does it have the plastic water dispersing plastic part and also the side holes are no longer there. I called them about it and they said it's the new design for it. I wish I had the one you are using in the review, seems like they are going the cheap way in making these. I'm struggling trying to get a strong brew with the one I have, they suggested using a course ground, but if it's too course the brew comes out weaker. They recommend 8 or 9 grind from Starbucks, I'll try that next, even with the course ground I'm not getting that strong of a cup. I'm using medium coffee. I guess trial and error will be my only choice.
Please include this also in to your description (They are NOT compatible with any of the industrial or office series of Keurig machines as the needles are not the same as consumer models) as bought this and i thought i can use with my k155 office series but its not compatible!!
+mzmo367 it doesn't work with the 2.0 you should have looked into that before purchasing. there is no reusable k-cup for the 2,0 currently but I've heard it will come out in th future.
It's nice durability-wise, but it leaks like crazy and makes a mess in my new keurig elite brewer in which it's compatible. It's very frustrating because at the top of the ekobrew there's water/coffee which makes a mess removing it and it also sprays on my machine and cup a bit every time I brew with it. I'm only filling it 3/4 at the most and seal it carefully each time and it's placed correctly in the holder.
I noticed when the machine was closed with the Ekobrew in it the lid didn't appear to close entirely. Could that interfere with the brewing or damage my own brewer with repeated uses?
There is a list of Keurig models this is not compatible with, one of which is the B130. I have a B130 and can say I've not had a problem using an EkoBrew Elite. Heads up for anyone wondering about this like I had.
Can you comment on the Ekobrew elite versus (with water diffuser {not just a hole}) and the ekobrew elite with just the hole. I wonder if there is a difference. I have tried the ekobrew ELITE with just the and got coffee grounds floating back.
When filling the Ekobrew, is that a tablespoon that you are using in the video? Just trying to determine how much (tablespoon wise) the Ekbrew will hold.
Is it compatible with the newer Keurig machines? I read something that said that the newer machines don't accept products that they haven't approved and it won't work. Is that true?
What keeps small grounds from escaping through small holes into cup? This us my only issue.will pre made mini filters work or lessen pressure from machine?
Yes with #Keurig it could be tricky :). We would recommend to use less grounds at first. Then nake sure to use proper grind. Enjoy your cup Aromacup - Single Serve Coffee
The information that you provide through your videos are always helpful, but I wanted to know that does this stainless steel Ekobrew Elite works for Keurig 2.0 K400?
I have a 2.0 and the last time I ordered K Cups ( Aug. 2015), I spoke with a representitve and she stated "Kuerig will be coming out with a refillable K Cup for the 2.0". She did not say when. Who knows, it could be this yr. or next year.
+Neelofur Surty i just bought this exact one on amazon.com and it says...Ekobrew is not compatible with the B30, B130, B150, B155, Mr Coffee BVMC-K, Vue or Keurig 2.0.
Isn't Ekobrew pronounced "eeko brew"? Eko, like eco (short for ecology... meaning environmentally friendly). And isn't Kuerig pronounced "key-yer-rig"? Sorry for being a stickler it was just bugging me! lol. Thanks for the video! I went on to buy a Ekobrew and love it.
Is this compatible with the RIVO keurig brewing system? I am trying to find a reusable pod or like this product, or the "my K kcup" that is compatible with the R500 Rivo system... Please Help! :)
I've been looking for a reusable pod for the Rivo also as in I am trying to decide if I should get a Rivo. Amazon has foil seals for The Rivo pods to reuse them but I also wonder how does a person know how to position the pod to be reused so it doesn't get so many hole on the bottom. A patented last about 7 years. so if anyone is going to make a reusable pod for the Rivo, Their going to have to wait about 6 years.I hope this helps some, I can't find a reusable pod either.
fresh ground beans, who doesn't want that, I have both k-cup and the eco brew, the older version, sure its a mess sometimes to clean up, but worth it because who want to drink plastic, thinking maybe not the best health choice, who knows if the kcup plastic is dangerous down the road...and better for the environment.
anyone know of a fully, 100% stainless steel cup? Alternatively, a 100% biodegradable K-cup? I have found espresso pods (tea bags of coffee, essentially), but no biodegradable (non-plastic) k-cups.
You cannot use Ekebrew for chocolate. You'll have better result if you add chocolate or tea into your mug and then just brew hot water :). Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
I have been having a problem with my brewing slowing down to a trickle when using my Ekobrew S.S. cup. What could be causing this? I usually have to open it half way thru the cycle and close the lid again to get it to brew faster. I also find that it seems to overflow with too much water. I don't have any problems when brewing my tea, just the coffee. Suggestions please?
yeah I need to know what's the problem too my brew slowly trickles and it doesn't even consume all of the water in my keurig tank. I have to hit brew 2 or 3 times and it's really slow. It works fine when there is no filter or a regular k cup, just brews slow with my stainless steel. I'll try a medium/course grind
+Tina First probably you are filling it with too much coffee grinds try putting less in it and see if that helps. let me know if it helps because i just purchased it so if it doesnt work i can cancel my order.
you really need to show the brew drip as it happens so we can see how dark the drip stream remains from beginning to end with the ekobrew...i know ur trying to save time on the vid but this is an imporatnt aspect to show abt the ekobrew
This works great! After one year almost to the day the lid separated. I replaced the lid back on by positioning it correctly, and then I used a pair

You are the "go to guy" when it comes to reviews about most anything to do with coffee and coffee makers.
I always trust your reviews. Thanks.

I tap the grounds into the trash pail and then wash it out with a baby bottle brush. I then store several of these in our k-cup carousel. LOVE them...

Nope :) Enjoy your cup, www.aromacup.com

Question... What grind consistency would you suggest for the Ekobrew?
Great review, I just purchased the latest version of the ekobrew and no longer does it have the plastic water dispersing plastic part and also the side holes are no longer there. What's the point of making it out of stainless steel if the water going through the coffee is still gonna pass through that plastic part first?
ya found that out the hardway also man it doesn't matter what coffee i use i still get sludge and sediment
I agree, there's no point making the bottom part stainless steel while the hot water passes through plastic, it's definitely not "EKO" friendly.
Please include this also in to your description (They are NOT compatible with any of the industrial or office series of Keurig machines as the needles are not the same as consumer models) as bought this and i thought i can use with my k155 office series but its not compatible!!
Having issues using this on a Keuring 2.0. The lid on my machine will not close. 😕....Help!
+mzmo367 it doesn't work with the 2.0 you should have looked into that before purchasing. there is no reusable k-cup for the 2,0 currently but I've heard it will come out in th future.
Can u use disposable filters also? This would give u a cleaner cup of coffee
Does it smell? I had A caraf that stuck 5 ft awY.Threw it out!
Can you use this with their filters?
Have you ever tried making a latte using the Keurig, as in using a fine ground coffee with a paper filter and using 8 oz and strong setting?
It's nice durability-wise, but it leaks like crazy and makes a mess in my new keurig elite brewer in which it's compatible. It's very frustrating because at the top of the ekobrew there's water/coffee which makes a mess removing it and it also sprays on my machine and cup a bit every time I brew with it. I'm only filling it 3/4 at the most and seal it carefully each time and it's placed correctly in the holder.
Great video. I saw this a few weeks and you pretty much sold it to me. Right after I hit "post", I'm going to go and try it out.
King Instrumentals I love it!
We use it for long time. No problems at all. Please check Amazon reviews as well. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com.
I noticed when the machine was closed with the Ekobrew in it the lid didn't appear to close entirely. Could that interfere with the brewing or damage my own brewer with repeated uses?
Is there a stainless steel option for the machines that use a Vu cup?
Does the Ekobrew cup of coffee have grounds in the bottom?
There is a list of Keurig models this is not compatible with, one of which is the B130. I have a B130 and can say I've not had a problem using an EkoBrew Elite. Heads up for anyone wondering about this like I had.

Can you use a paper filter inside? I'm looking for easier cleaning without wasting water to flush this out after brewing.
Does the Ekobrew stainless steel elite require a filter?
where the heck can I get this ekobrew stainless elite!?????????? the link doesn't work!!!!!!!
When filling the Ekobrew, is that a tablespoon that you are using in the video? Just trying to determine how much (tablespoon wise) the Ekbrew will hold.
thanks for the review, I'm going to pick this up.
Is it compatible with the newer Keurig machines? I read something that said that the newer machines don't accept products that they haven't approved and it won't work. Is that true?
You didn't show the machince brewing the coffee. It was a cut. Why? Did it spill over like they do 90% of the time.
what size cup of coffee did you brew in both tests?
Brah...this is exactly the video I needed to see. Thank you brotha!
its a great product but the problem i seem to be having is when it brews it seems to drip a little bit while it's dispensing the coffee.
Thanks. I'll try a medium grind and see how it works.
I got the ecobrew classic series
Yes. But is have plastic handles on the side. So wait 2-3 minutes before wash it :). Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
is there any refillable options for T-disc users?
Do you know if this is compatible with the K15 mini brewer? I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere online or in reviews..

are the ekobrew hot to touch after a brew?
Is this compatible with the RIVO keurig brewing system?
I am trying to find a reusable pod or like this product, or the "my K kcup" that is compatible with the R500 Rivo system...
Please Help! :)
As of today nobody makes reusable filter for Rivo. Enjoy your cup, www.aromacup.com
I've been looking for a reusable pod for the Rivo also as in I am trying to decide if I should get a Rivo. Will Ekobrew make a K-carafe model? Thx!

can I make hot chocolate or tea using this Ekobrew ?
Where can I buy this?
anyone know of a fully, 100% stainless steel cup? Alternatively, a 100% biodegradable K-cup? I have found espresso pods (tea bags of coffee, essentially), but no biodegradable (non-plastic) k-cups.
+Fuck You Google Plus Looking for this as well..
what grounds do u buy for this thing
Coffee
You cannot use Ekebrew for chocolate. You'll have better result if you add chocolate or tea into your mug and then just brew hot water :). Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
Thanks for the review! I am thinking of buying a k cup coffer maker? Love the red gloves! Lol 😂 🥊🥊☕☕☕☕
I bought this it sucked. It wouldn't filter properly and coffee grounds would get through. What did I do wrong?!
Sounds like it wasn't the coffee holder that sucked. Chances are you over filled it. I hope you've got that figured out by now.
Your link won’t work
good review, but the red gloves are strange.

What you are describing sounds like your grind is too fine, change your grind to a medium/course grind.
But when you continue to read you will see that others recommend a super fine grind. So that's what is confusing.
But i will try it
yeah I need to know what's the problem too my brew slowly trickles and it doesn't even consume all of the water in my keurig tank. I have to hit brew 2 or 3 times and it's really slow. you find the same at Wal-Mart online for $7.40 instead of $25.00 but it's probably a limited time savings
the thought I have is, there is nothing to hold the water back to get the best saturation in the coffee grounds
Wow that is mucho bucks.
What's with the red gloves? Creepy.
WHERE to BUY: @t Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn't here.
We knew they are will get somebody's attention :). Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
Thank you. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
Good point. Thanks. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
Compost those used grounds, coffee-boy!
good tip. gonna look into this!
This won't work with the Keurig 2.0!!!!!!!!!
...Mr. Science Gloves...
Great. Thank you. Enjoy your cup, Aromacup.com
