Yes , with the recent David Brown collection where the cars were found stacked up like a layer cake , there was a story on the ACA website . Hopefully the story behind the Scottish collection will also be told .
Absolutely fantastic. The thing about you people is we see you at the auctions tidy and spruced up to sell cars. Then we see you like this! Another thing about this 'setup' is we see the cars here, then we see them sell. I mean, that last auction just 'blew me away.' Some of those cars fetched over "£100,000. Why, how? A pile of scrap. As you know from my other comments, I would LOVE to do this, but I have Cerebral Palsy, so have to make do with these movies and diecast models etc. My brother is a mechanic and has vintage tractors and stationary engines. Dad likes rallies too as these vehicles were on the road when he was he was young. Even though he's in his late 80's, we still go to rallies etc. I watch UA-cam featuring all the classic car auctions. That's something good that came out COVID19. [I had a mild attack of it] Thank You.
Some Background to the cars. The guy in Scotland who had all the classic Cars, collected them over the years, He liked red ones. It started from his dad I heard. The red Consul Capri, was kept by the Cook Family, John Cook (my Dad) was a mechanic and owned and ran the Ecclefechan garage. John Cook changed the engine, and gear box, it was kept in a Garage for years after John Cook Died, The garage , was built around it to save it from getting rusty, and sold to the Scottish guy 10 years ago. Its nice to see it will be restored, hopefully.
Well Guy , as you say . To find 2 barn finds in quick succession is rare . To find 2 as valuable as these is incredible ! (Although this collection is less valuable but definitely worth the trip . Thanks Guy
This is a great video what a great follow up to the london AC find - amazing . This video was a lot better to watch than the last one and the video shows us all just how much work is involved to rescue some of these barn finds - what a huge job not easy but great to watch. Will be good if you can add the back story to how the cars ended up stranded there and who the owner was.
The E type might be an ex local one owned by an old friend of ours here in the Highlands. He hit a cow at 70 mph. The damage is consistent with that story. It snapped the windscreen pillars.
I'd love to know the back story of how all these wonderful vehicles ended up in this place? The XK140 was always my favourite AND a 1955, my year of birth, would be a dream.
Great Vlog Guys Some Awesome cars there my Guess is every one of them will be restored over time be Nice to and get a story of one of them being restored Thanks Team Great Vlog
Once again we have a hoarder, who could never get to any of these projects in a lifetime, yet continues to aquire more, without spending a bit of money on making sure that they're preserved & protected from the elements. Thankfully now they will likely go to someone who will restore them & get them back on the road.
Once again it must be explained to a hoarder whiner that hoarding is a good thing. If collectors didn't collect, and stash away their collection, we wouldn't be here. No musty, rusty old classics to rescue and resuscitate. No shows showing how it's done. No YT channels covering every aspect of restoration. Without hoarders, we'd be screwed!
Another great video guys. Great to see David getting his hands dirty and having his passport stamped again..!! I’m sure he was born wearing a blue gilet.!! 🤣
Well done guys. Saved in the nick of time before they turn to dust. It will be amazing to see those cars back on the road in the future. It's going to take some big hearted and talented mechanics but it's definitely a great achievement to free those wonderful cars and get them towards their new life. Well done 👏 ps I and many others no doubt would love to know some background history on how they came to be their and who had the foresight to store them away for all those years 🤔
About time Andy took some praise , lots of hard work goes in to the whole auction. Some one has to go and collect them ,(good job Andy 👍🏻) Can’t wait for the auction on November 4th and 5th 😎👏👏
great find guys will be there next year as a buyer just a thought have you ever tried car dollies i know they wont be great on loose ground but getting them out of the barn may have helped great channel
Wished a relative of mine would part with his garaged 1990 1 owner Sierra Cosworth 4 door 4x4 . Been sorned for the last 10 years and doesn't see the light of day. Has optional black leather with white paintwork. You could have picked it up from Edinburgh on the way down.
Like many others have commented. I'm really feeling a need to know about the original owner. Presumably dead. I think he deserves a little respect. For me slightly overshadowed an amazing bit of film. Really amazing. I think spun out to a full day id sit though it all.
Hey guys first you show an XK140 then a XK150 which you say is a XK140 TSK TSK. Unless it's been modified that's a Series 2 E Type from 1968 onward, OR am I wrong ?
Those were the days, All these old cars would have been found and stored in that decrepit old barn for next to nothing, and someone is going to pay a fortune to restore them.
I will say you are so down to earth & know your stuff not like that D/M auctioneer on a well know classic car auction company on tv who seems to bluff a lot
You can't just find cars and decide to claim them for yourself, even if they are "abandoned", so they obviously belong to someone. A few details would be nice......
no way i would go in there butt i already had a similar accident pullling a nash out of a barn 450ft from nearest road ,,add in snakes,,racoons stupid gungho farmers geez what a mistake again destoyed me back butt got the wooden spoked bugger out 3 days it took
I hate these barn finds- all those great old cars taken in and disassembled and then left to rot by some fool who probably kept repeating that same old tooth gritting phrase "Not for sale- I'm gonna fix 'er up someday"
The story of the person who's kept this stuff for all these years deserves to be shared!

Absolutely. When I was doing my apprenticeship he used to give me a lift to work in his 2CV. Very interesting dude.
stu thompson owned that lot
Fan bloody tastic 👍
Like the the Ford Consul Capr on the backi, thats a cool looking car
Good job boys
Thanks, these nice old cars deserve new homes and love and care and being driven again, one day.

That 1961 roadster roadster was gorgeous even in its current state
Wow an Aladdins cave full of old classics this collected new there stuff
Brilliant work guys ,what a collection 👏
Kenny will tackle any job. Great guy 👍
Amazing what's still out there, look forward to seeing them :-)
Guy is like a Automotive Indiana Jones through the forest searching for the hidden treasure. You could bid on them, if only you spoke Hovitos.
Well Guy , as you say . To find 2 barn finds in quick succession is rare . To find 2 as valuable as these is incredible ! (Although this collection is less valuable but definitely worth the trip . Thanks Guy
that corvette and the consul capri😍🏁

That C1 is absolutely gorgeous. What I’d do for that.

You must be correct as the right hand pillar is indeed missing !
@@johndavey72 Theres a photo that still exists which may reveal the number plate, Ill see if i can find it.
Fantastic find..AND location. If those walls could talk... Im really curious about the story and people behind this collection.
Bentley is gorgeous............
Amazing Guy! Living the dream!!
Nice find but what about the owner?
I'd love to know the back story of how all these wonderful vehicles ended up in this place?

Arguably, this "hoarder" saved them from the scrap heap!

Just wondering whether they will all be ready for MOT on auction day?
Close to Lockerbie by any chance?

My name is Scott, my grandfather was from Scotland. I'm a Scott no matter what. This is my heritage!!

I guess the fiberglass corvette is the only thing able to stand up to Scotland's weather....
Nice to see David getting his hands and clothes dirty!
I got most excited about the Range Rover Classic! Either to far gone or one of the crews?
The first red with a yellow bumper was an XK 150 not XK 140. Single one piece windscreen
I would have liked to have been told WHERE in Scotland this was. Its a big place. The Jaguar is a 150 NOT a 140. Keep up the good work lads.
Was I the only one wincing as the Corvette got dragged past all that scrap/crap that could of racked up huge bodywork bills totally unnecessarily? 😮
They are fiberglas and new panels can bought inexpensively.
@@Mercmad i know vettes are fibreglass, but repro panels ain't originals plus it's a bitch to prep & paint properly.
A huge amount of spares left behind, what happens to them?
Frogeye was the best

but " HOARDERS " (hated by crooked local authorities} ARE THE NEW GODS OF NOSTALGIA
They are everywhere, they have ocd, we have one in our family, not cars though.
Where have the rest of the cars and bikes gone ?
Those were the days,
All these old cars would have been found and stored in that decrepit old barn for next to nothing, and someone is going to pay a fortune to restore them.
Thats not a bond bug its the Jamaican bob sleight

Their cars they can do what they want with them ? if he had not they could be in a scrap yard years ago .
@@kennymorrison8639 10-1 you've got a few never to be finished projects too.
