nice to see someone other than Q making light tac drivers
really? it's not like there are carbon fiber stocks and chassis available from mcmillan, manners, and xlr. not to mention the lightest chassis made by xlr. did you mean factory rifles? if so then you proof research and christiensen arms and now savage. so......
I know what to start saving for now.
Might make this my first bolt gun
ordered mine today in 6.5 Creedmoor, in camo. Looks to be great value with form, function, and flexibility. Psyched to take the precision rifle course with it, and hunt.
It’s a production model of the Q rifle. System. I will have one!
It’s a less expensive Q fix with a bigger company backing it. It’s a win. I want one!
serious numbers
This will definitely take some of the wind out of the sails of the RPR and Savage Stealth.
With those ballistic pressures, I am thinking it will need to have an easily removable barrel. Very curious as to how many rounds before that barrel throat is gone.
Mr. Supergun from SIG forgets about the M1 live on camera... it was designed for scope/sights etc.
Very nice
Looks like you're first to get these videos out again this year too. 🙂
I do it for the money. I make literally dozens of dollars in ad revenue lol
80k psi is very impressive. I’d love to neck the cartridge to something besides 277. A 7mm would be a great option. Great review man and amazing turnaround time on videos. This range day was this morning! Very well done
SIG has already shown other cartridges, including a 6.5 Creedmoor. Seems a little dangerous though to make a round that is beyond proof load pressure in the same dimensions as a conventional cartridge.
Pretty awesome if they can deliver that at the quoted price point!
I want one!!!!
hope it will be legal here in canada i will get one for sure
If the ammunition can be reloaded and it does not burn barrels up to quickly then they have a true game changer. I really hope that is the case, but for now I am going to remain patient and see how it goes.
Did they drop the camber dust cover?
Sweet an assault weapon I can own in Virginia!!!
That is a Very Tight Package! Will have to take a LONG Look at it when it comes out since I am not able to go to this SHOT SHOW but should be able to go to the NRA show in April. How did it feel when you shot it? How was the Action? Were you shooting the 277 Sig Fury and How did the Can handle it?
I was shooting 6.5 cm, the action was very smooth and very quick. It felt similar to my old Yugo Mauser, but not as smooth as my Enfield. Pretty neat gun, definitely going to take a closer look at it in the future.
@@BurstReview How would you compare it to the Remington and Ruger Precision Chassis System in the Same caliber? if you have shoot the same one before.
@@af22raptor23503 - I haven't, but it reminds me of a more refined Ruger Precision Rifle
So what can we expect for barrel life with the furry. There is nothing cutting edge about a barrel burner there are already quite a few and a lot of people avoid them specifically for that reason.
I think the problem with adopting a cartridge like the .277 Furry for military use is it's excessive high pressures in automatic weapons. Higher pressures equals more chamber erosion and greater wear on the barrel caused by excessive heat and friction and also more wear on the gas systems. I think the 6.8 or .277 would be hard on a conventional direct gas impingement system. I'm not for certain that a conventional AR type rifle can withstand higher pressures. You are talking 80k PSI!! There is a reason why the 7.62x51mm NATO and 5.56x45mm Nato are still used is because of one case geometry, two all platforms are proven designs that withstood the test of time. Three, since those are standard pressure cartridges barrels and components last 1000's of rounds. Why change something if it's not broke?
Because body armor exists. The entire point of the 6.8 NGSW is to penetrate level IV plates.
That’s an awesome rifle I would love to pick up but after putting a decent optic on it your looking at a competition rifle for hunting at a price of min 2k. I’ll lug my 10lb. Rpr at that price and that’s not including the suppressor either. But who knows might find a sweet deal.
Street is 1499, only a few hundred more than the RPR which has had a couple price jumps since it came out
Looks familiar
60 degree instead of 90 degree bolt
Things like these make me think why didnt i think of that
Do they come left handed too?
1/2 MOA Accuracy pllllllease with factory ammo!
Looks sweet wish it had a 20" barrel though
Might be in the works. Plus, if the platform becomes popular, I'm sure someone will get one to market
Point is it don't even need one lol 140 grain over 3000 fps out of an AR 15 basically. Think about how crazy that is. It has like 6 feet less drop at 1000 than 6.5 creedmoor! That is worth adopting for the Army
@nvdirtbiker exactly. Seriously tge Army needs to adopt this ASAP. Its a Super 7.62 NATO
SHOT 2017: Q's The Fix
SHOT 2020: Sig's The Faux
This thing is really thumping that shoulder because of how light it is...
When will these be coming to market?
Guy said possibly around June
Thats a bad ass rifle. A 140 grain going over 3000 fps out of a 16 inch?!?! That's absurd. If this works out it would allow soliders to easily reach out past 800 meters out of an m4 type platform. I don't think people truly understand hoe game changing that would be. Afghanistan showed regular engagements between 300 to 800 yards since the enemy knew 5.56 is horrible in those ranges. This would change that
SmithN' Wesson it’s not that absurd and 5.56 is not horrible at all at those ranges and that’s not the reason for the distances on the engagements. Our 5.56 out classes the fuck out of any ak at those distances. The reason they chose those distances was because they don’t have nearly as much ass or reinforcements or qrf as coalition forces which meant they always left a door open so as not to get trapped by maneuver elements which would allow them to fall back to secondary and tertiary fighting positions. Strictly strategic reason.
I love my sigs.. but this? Not sure need to shoot and handle
Lord please
what a about Left hand bolt?
80,000 PSI? So are we changing a new barrel every 500 rounds?
Nope they have been testing these barrels for a while now. Of course they have less life than a 5.56 or 7.62 but who really cares if its the Military they can swap barrels.
Will this come in a Lefty? And will this come in a scoped model?
I need 40,000 of these stat to....Vïrgïnï@.
They make the barrels easy to change because of the short life.
Wow, fn, i mean sig, is really putting out a lot of products. i wish colt, i mean sig, would focus on quality control instead of government contracts. there are some cool products, i just wish they had their old quality.
triggers need to be adjustable down to 1lb. This won't cut it.
80,000 PSI, jesus christ.
They got me at "new bolt rifle", the lost me at "new cartridges".
People fail to realize how game changing this is. Sig made a hybrid case with a steel bottom that can handle over 80 thousand psi. So to put it on laymen terms...it gives you a bullet that flies REALLY FAST at more than double the weight of a 5.56 and goes twice as far out of a 16 inch barrel. Oh and don't forget it has A LOT less drop and drift than a 7.62 nato.
Tf is a cross bolt
should be titled "Sig copies ex-employees idea" - its a Q guy made badly.
