Wearing a Casio Duro: "Hey, is that a Rolex?" Wearing a Seiko Samurai: "Hey, is that a Rolex?" Wearing an Omega Speedmaster: "Hey, is that a Rolex?" Wearing a Hanhart 417ES: "Hey, is that a Rolex?" Wearing an IWC Mark XVIII: "Hey, is that a Rolex?" Telling people I like to collect watches: "So, do you have a Rolex?" LOL.
someone at rolex did their job very very well..
@@musash777 100%. Marketing and Hype there's no one that can touch Rolex. The only other brand that even comes close to Rolex is Casio. Both brands are part of pop culture.
I love everything about the style of T&H, however I’ve been in this for 30+ years and you’re definitely overthinking it.
The only people who care about watches are other watch guys. The “average guy” has not one iota of f#%k to give about watches. People who have any sort of disposable income can be watch guys, but more will put it into family/vacations/cars etc… I’ve spent so much money on watches over the years to realise the only person who gives a sh#t, is the one in the mirror.
Just my honest opinion C
Truer words were never spoken
Agreed! Feel like pleasing yourself is the fun part and the beauty of collecting because you know how badass that watch is but no one else does😂 unless its got rolex on the dial
Yeah i was thinking this. Most average people know absolutely nothing about luxury watches other than Rolex, cartier and maybe patek. Even fewer know about Audemars and omega, forget any other brand. They'd also probably be hard pressed to value any of those accurately and would likely think rolex is the most valuable of those brands. Still great content to watch :D
I disagree, there is another person that notices immediately... The Wife
... and that conversation can vary in tone range like a financial electronic xylophone
What does a nice watch a person wears, say to me? “Nice watch”. I’ve learned not to judge people, by what they wear or own, until I get to know them or view their actions.
I get nervous around young men with expensive, outward-signaling signs of wealth. No parent who cares about his children would allow such vulgar flaunting of privileged birth.
In general, violence has squirmed its way out of its origins and into other parts of American life. It is more difficult to avoid these days, but I try nonetheless.
I’m 18 and love the weekly calendar. I can’t wait to fully embrace grandpa style
Drink every time he says the word "right".
I do some coke every time he says "right", and I drink a shot every time he rubs his nose.
The drink is whisky, so to my stomach, it's just a whisky and coke. 😉
Right? Right! 😂
Now that you mention it, yeah, that is a weird thing for him to say it so much.
He needs to work on that.
@@TRJUST Right!
Be it watches or any other luxurious item, you buy them you wear them for yourself because you like them and want to have them, not to showcase them to the world.
Indeed. I have maybe 4 business/work friends that are watch guys and when we get together we geek out. Outside of that every once in a blue moon someone might notice a watch but typically it's just my time piece that I enjoy wearing. Well until I got a Panerai and then all the Sub guys started asking questions.

Well said about the Reverso, a class watch
Christian, I have been watching for years...through the Anna, Michael and Sam phases of your journey. You are SO talented!! I know you have a young, opinionated audience that rebels every time anything changes. Be true to yourself and ignore the naysayers. I think you're wonderful and I LOVE SAM!! He's doing a great job! Hope we get to see him on screen again. Your dynamic with your co-hosts is so much of the fun! Always wishing you the best!! Go get 'em, Tiger!
I miss Anna
Where is Michael ❤
@@mikefleissner4415
Michael moved on to pursue his own channel that's more style-related. The iron snail is a great channel to watch.
I assume there's still a lot of respect between the two
👏 Loved the Gravity Concept watch, truly unique! 🎨
That Patek Weekly is phenomenal.
I got my Ti YM very first day. I didnt find anyone on UA-cam with one for months. I’m not rich, but I have a TON of connections. My style is probably best described as “Alternative Athletic” so the matte black goes with nearly everything I wear.
if anyone is asking, I’m a certified MCoS lvl 2 Sommelier with a masters in Chemistry in Miami, and I flip vintage sports cars and host live music events for additional income.
Fun discussion. Thanks as always!
I feel like IFL Watches are extremely overpriced... That "Gravity" Seiko 5, a 150 piece limited edition, was £1,090. The Seiko 5 Sports "Blueberry" GMT SKX re-intepretation (SSK003K1) has an MSRP of £420 but it is normally available for considerably less if you shop around. I can't see how the painted dial adds £670 onto the value of that watch. They haven't regulated the movement or anything else that can justify such a wide markup on the painting. It's a nice design but I just can't see myself paying that much for a basic Seiko 5 GMT on a jingly-jangly jubilee...
It's strange, but they painted over one of the best bits of that Seiko 5. Why didn't they paint over the strap, or do a Trompe L'oeil on the back to make it look like it had decent movement in it?
They have to charge that much I've seen it now flogged on 3 different UA-cam channels. That's gotta cost some money.
JINGLY-JANGLY JUBILEE MANNN
The Sub wearer gets too much hate from the watch community... they characterize a Sub wearer as someone that knows nothing about watches and got a bonus and wanted a Rolex that "looks like a Rolex" ... "everyone has one"...."too common" ... "boring".. ..etc..etc.. I agree its often the case... but some actually appreciate the history back to 1953, the Bond connection, the evolution from a pure tool watch... etc. And lastly whats with the watch community obsession with "flying under the radar"... we are not stealth fighters....what wrong with being on the radar 😁
Great topic.... enjoyed the perpsective !!
I appreciate this comment I own a Rolex Submariner 14060m. Along with a Heuer Coral 980 026, Heuer 981.006, Breitling Super ocean A17367, Rolex EXP1. 114270, Heuer 272.006 a Tag Heuer Night diver 989 113, Seiko Tuna Marine master SBBN035 Ninja and a Sinn 144stsa. I enjoy alot of different brands and their history. The Submariner comment is just a bandwagon comment at this point. They just want get likes from other haters. Like hating on Rolex makes them special or something it's strange
I appreciate the post also. I have four subs, 1680 red, 5513, hulk, and new 41mm, along with many other neovintage and some more modern pieces.
The sub is my favorite watch of all time and I clearly collect them. From its history to its robustness and versatility, it’s iconic for a reason.
"looks like a Rolex" ... "everyone has one"...."too common" ... "boring" I couldn't agree more :P
Yeah but to appreciate the history and context and sub is worse than just being basic IMO
"what a day date says about you" deserves a whole episode
My foreman in the late 70s wore a blue stella dial Day Date working a jack hammer. When he made foreman he wanted a gold Rolex to commemorate the occasion and the stella dial ones in the case were cheaper.
It’s weird when I see an IWC I don’t assume anybody paid retail for it. And they really know their watches.
Please do a women’s edition! I know we are a few out there 😄
Christian, love this format, though it sounds like I am heading for the grandpa phase 😂😂😂
An IWC that fits a large man’s wrist and can be bought for less than $30k is “baller and flashy,” but a little obscenely priced steel watch with widely-known brand that screams “rich guy” is sophisticated? Most people have no idea what IWC is. That is why so many people like it.
I understand that there are small men who look ridiculous wearing big watches, but for some of us, a 36mm Datejust looks ridiculous.
Some of us have 8” wrists or larger. Some of us are well over six feet tall (come to the German-Scandinavian Midwest), and our wrists get bigger as we age.
Many of us would feel more comfortable dropping $30k on a gold, not big name watch instead of a flashy name steel watch for the same price. I am old, so it might be a generational thing, but after rap, I am not comfortable wearing Patek or AP on the streets of Chicago anymore. I sold my Rolex. My gold chain is white gold (which also suits my ghost pale skin and blue eyes better). I kbow you are Italian and from New Jersey, and that your words speak true to that region, but where I live, Patek on anyone under 40-years-old screams poor taste, or even thuggish, not unlike an over-sized yellow gold chain, or worse yet, a diamond-set chain on a man. To me, that is Patek Philippe, a young cursing man surrounded by call girls talking about how much money he has. AP even more so.
I am more impressed by FP Journe, Czapek, and other exceptional independents (Maurice Grossman is another). If I were not in a financial situation right now, I would own a gold Czapek Antarctique. That is beautiful and does not come with any brand baggage.
Again, this could be a regional difference, but here, a little Italian guy wearing a Patek looks considerably more flashy than a large man wearing a size-appropriate IWC (I know watch publication do not get this, but many of us have 8” plus wrists). I understand how size impacts this (my friend’s sub looks larger on his wrist than my massive Seiko Astron), but there are big people in the US. I lived in Manhattan for years, and I was not the only tall, big guy there.
glad to hear from sam again
@theo and Harris, what does an Omega Speedmaster Moonphase chronograph in blue dial and blue alligator strap say about the owner?
Yachtmaster are under appreciated. I love them and titanium, so I’d do just about anything to get a titanium YM at retail. Hopefully they will eventually become more readily available.
Now I need to get an IFL Gravity...lol
Love love love this episode. The Yacht is just so rare, you never seen it. Frankly I don’t see anything out in the wild other than 5 digit sub dates and Pepsi GMTs, maybe an occasional DJ. When I see a colorful Breitling I get stoked
That sweater screams "mom bought it at Talbot's."😂
i love you so much! I recently just found your nkuwan and i’m in love!! Your videos are so fun and you energy is just MWAH! keep living your life
The hour markers on the yacht master are a lot bigger than on the Submariner. I like it more!
I don’t think anyone here cares, but Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles heel rupture (not an ACL). Totally agree that one must be a huge AR fan to get that watch. It has the team colors for both NFL teams he has played with.
the YM is an answer looking for a question - trying too hard to create a space for a watch that doesnt need to be. And at only 100m of WR...this is no proxy for a Sub...unless you just want to try and feel different. With DJ level WR....stick with the classier option and just get the DJ.
As a diver watch, that IFL would’ve been much cooler with an underwater diver scene
Ya totally agree with the Zenith haha so many good watches.... why the Aaron Rodgers... Love Zenith... would be a weird watch to see out in the wild lol.
I would get the aaron rodgers chrono because i really like green and those indices are in a great font for legibility. however, since i have a hulk, my wife wouldn't understand me having two green watches, and there isn't even a shadow of a contest between those two.
One day i wear a Casio, another day a Navitimer or a Chronoswiss and another day maybe one of my Seikos or Timex. So what does my watch say about me? Maybe that my mood for watches is different every day but nothing more? 🤷🏻♂️
For years I wore and Old Navitimer, it was my one "nice watch" it was almost like a beater to me. I loved knowing it was wicked expensive but looking at the rest of me nobody had a clue what I was wearing. I also had a Seiko 5 field watch and a few ani/digi watches.
Into the hat and sweater, God bless America!
The Yachtmaster titanium is like a less serious Submariner with the lack of glidelock and the illegible bezel writing.
Christian……definitely do not agree with you on the Aaron Rodgers timepiece. It’s an absolutely stunning El Premerio. Have you seen it in person? You need to see it in person. Then you can tell how you really feel. I’ve seen it in person and it is one of the most difficult piece to get it at retail since they only made 200.
Liked and subbed
Is the Theo and Harris store not a priority anymore?
Bravo for the outfit! The amount of engagement you just boosted from all the ppl taking the bait and commenting, chef’s kiss!
RIP Michael
I couldn’t care less for Aaron Rodgers, but the Zenith watch itself. It’s a beautiful watch. I couldn’t care less about the player.
I don't think ANY watch can tell someone how good you may be at business. Just because someone has an expensive watch does not mean they know anythiing about business.
You can always get a job as a second hand car salesperson, it is perfect for you.
I get these videos to an extent. But I know a very wealthy man that has a massive watch collection and I see him in the wild on a Monday wearing a Patek and then a Seiko on Wednesday
A watch truly really doesn't say anything about you. Millionaires wear Timex and minimum wage guys can wear a Rolex. If you see me in public wearing my Rolex Submariner it tells you ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about me, or what kind of person I am.
That’s a dumb thing to say.
@@ajmaclean351 A watch doesn't say anything about the wearer, except that he/she MIGHT know how to tell time.
The average person: You can't afford an Apple watch?
No one gives a shit
In Japan, we have the saying "A Rolex and a Toyota Crown, some day"
It's the typical, cliche go-to that every normie aspires to. At your 40s when you've climbed the ladder a fair amount and to show the world you're respectable, Rolex is THE symbol watch. I literally see Rolex, Omega and occasionally an IWC worn by so many people, they're like clones of one another.
I know it has history, but Rolex is the Louis Vuitton of watches to me... I can't imagine they have taste, they see the logo and buy it. Their designs aren't classical to me either - the strange balance of the bezel and the dial face (it looks too small to me, it's like and iPhone 3G screen) with the ill-sized dotted digits...it's simply obsolete in my eyes. Which convinces me further that they've kept that design without aspiring for novel designs to keep it recognizeable, to attract the average bear who strives to wear VLTN t-thirts and a Rolex.
My grandfather owned a few and maybe that's giving me the old-man vibe bias. But yeah, I really don't see the value in it, just as I don't see value in an LV monogram bag.
Where are the other dude's at? I think the same exact watch can say many different things, depending on who is wearing it.
Would be better if the video was not about hard to get watches that need "special allocation" ... or was referring to more generic categories or icons ... there would be more to relate to
I have to say that #nkuwan 's watches is amazing!
I thought you were going to say in the intro "how good you are..... in bed" 😆
Kudos on the cap. Don't tread on me. I admire individualism and personal freedom.
That being said, my appreciation on a watch is not dependent on its price, but on the value I place on that piece. So far my most valuable watch is a G shock that reminds me of my daughters resilience, confidence and strength. I can place my full trust and reliabilty. I love that watch. Cheers.
'Tallica hat ;)
Christian, T4YC. The Yacht Master is not that impressive. It looks very rough in titanium. And the colour isn't as nice as other titanium watches.
Also, this is very much an American perspective. Any watch that's connected to a Football player may have a rough ride. Did OJ Simpson and Michael Vick do any brand ambassador collaborations?
Your hat matches the flag on my truck ❤🥹😏 pew pew
zenith- mak kau hijau.
Nice hat
I was initially surprised to see the Gadsden Flag hat. But-really it should come as no surprise largely because often people who are deeply into watch collecting are students of history in many areas. It's also common for watch collectors to collect firearms.
Where is Michael? 🥺
nkuwan I love you so much and watching your videos makes my day brighter
People get judged on hats not watches based on the comments.
All you seem to say that somebody is on an allocation.
what does that hat say about you?... depending on the state...
Thumbs up for your cap and shirt!
Your watch says virtually NOTHING about you. Someone might wear a vintage 33mm Patek from the 40's because they love the style and how it gives them a feeling of being connected to a bygone era that they are fascinated with. Someone else may wear the same watch because they are a "label whore" and it was the only Patek they could afford and love telling people they own a Patek. Someone else may care nothing at all about watches but wear the same watch because it was passed down to them by a grandparent. Someone else may wear the same watch only because they are an aspiring writer and found out their favorite author wore something similar. Someone else may wear the same watch because it fits in with their hipster vibe and someone else may wear the same watch because they are very much into design and the love the simplicity of it. Someone could be rich, poor, very educated, uneducated, a serious collector or have no interest in watches at all, a businessman, a teacher, or a pro wrestler - and all have the same watch for different reasons.
Love the hat and flag 👏 👏 👏 🫡
Based on my experience, nobody cares. Unless another “watch lover” notices what you’re wearing it never comes up.
Rolex Stella tasteful? Those watches shown are super gaudy. Sorry but when I see a guy wearing any Rolex outside an Explorer or Explorer 2 I automatically assume they don’t actually know the name of the model they are wearing.
I miss Michael. 🥲
Did he leave?
Tore his achilles
I'm a mild collector. To me a Rolex is a Rolex. It is expensive. IF I notice it, I wonder if you and your watch is a fake. If you wear one of many other luxury watches, I want to talk watches with you.
I don‘t know why but I stopped watching your videos months ago. And I watched every single one since the beginning. Can‘t really say why its not catching me anymore but the Videos feel so boring to me these days. The old ones had more insides more tastefull things and more of your style and your energy ..
It's because the Michael / Christian chemistry worked. File it under all good things must come to an end.

Why are you wearing that hat? I’d love to hear what the symbolism of that hat means to you and why you’d wear something that has been co-opted by some very questionable groups in recent years.
Why shouldn’t he wear that hat?

@@Enriadero Well, now I have two questions for you: Why are you coming to the conclusion that I’m trying to “police” him? And what do you mean by “political purity?” I simply want to understand what the Gadsden Flag means to him and why he’d wear that hat given how it’s been used as of late.
