That's the borax burning off causing it to burn green. You can just add enough organic matter to raise the acidity to counter the alkaline properties of the caustic, resin, and the and borax used to make the glue in corrugated board.
I was always wary on using cardboard in my garden/compost. Avoided the one who had any ink/printing/glue on them, but even then I wonder if it is safe. What do you think about the completely brown cardbor? Is it safe to use or better to avoid all cardboard in one's garden at all costs? 🌼
in these times, who knows what else they add to plain cardboard. But since cardboard adds so much volume to compost, it may be a good idea to have two compost piles, one for edibles without cardboard and another for non edibles.

The chemicals I mentioned in the video burn this color. Other cardboard didn't burn green.
