Well the allegory of the cave seems peculiar and thought-provoking, until you find out the allegory of the double cave. A man is in the dark. The only thing he sees are figures in front of him. They run, they show men riding horses: one of them holds a great spear, and attempts to strike a mighty deer. The deer stands, white as the snow, in all of his majesty. There's something about him, you can't really tell. Now he's wounded, and still succeeds at running off. The great man refrains the others, that were behind him: he says he wants to finish him by himself. Then spurs and chases the deer, up until a strange place. There's a lake, deep and cold, and a cave, big and dark. The great man plunges into it, and disappears. Several days after, he returns, but he was never the same after. A sheer sense of wonder pervaded him, you could see it in his eyes: stark, open, attentive. It was like it had seen the light for the first time, and after that, he was forever blinded. The group fooled him, made fun of him, the mighty warrior, who got belittled, humiliated by an hallucination. A dream, nothing more. The man in the dark began to wander in his mind: "What had the great man seen? What is so precious, so astonishing, to change a man so drastically?". And he wondered, and an idea stemmed in his brain, deeply rooted, to never leave. The other people began to make fun of him, and they said: "You are just like him! A man tricked by imagination". They didn't persuade him. He kept on his quest. And one day, the so beloved scene of the great man chasing the deer appeared again. But he wasn't the same man as before. The story was so charming, and was pervaded by desire, he couldn't stop, he couldn't rest: he pounced over the deer, as the great man did in the scene. Suddenly, the beast was gone. The other people, vanished. He was inside a great cave, he had never seen. There was a spear lying against the wall, on the right. Just aside of it, carved in the rock: "You will never return". Dubious, slightly worried, but at the same time fascinated, he proceeded. After a turn, a great light in front of him: it gave a sense of "otherness", a sense of being the home you never have imagined, nor remembered. Still it was strange, mysterious, and behind it the cave opened to reveal an impossible scenario: a crack in the cave, and above the high sky, open, without limits. A notch in the fabric of reality. He run through, ecstatic, filled with joy and wonder. And when he was on the other side, now he was the great man who chased the deer. He had always dreamed of that dark cave, that's why he made the request of being alone in his quest of the deer. And when he went into the cave, now he finds himself as the man who is fascinated by the story of the great man who chases the deer. His dream was dreaming about him. What was once real, now is an endless flow of possibilities. That's why he's blind: his connection to reality is lost, forever, bc he has seen too much. He has seen the phantasmatic nature of the story on the wall. Well, jokes on you, I made this right on the spot.
Very dense story, do you have a condensed version or, at least, what is the double cave trying to tell us? Can’t find anything else about double cave online, thanks.
@@otakulife9157 Well, it's a story I invented to try to amend what I find faulty in the platonic mith of the cave. I made the realm of "dreams", "illusions", collapse with the one we often regard as "real", in order to challenge the idea there is some outside world of pure bliss awaiting us. See, my conception is that everything is on the same ontological plane. Take the idea of "samsara": I would tell there is nothing beyond samsara, and that reaching Nirvana doesn't mean getting acces to a new dimension, but to understand the eternity of samsara, reaching enlightenment in the process. It's only a matter of seeing the world with new eyes, not to trascend into something that doesn't exist. This idea of the "other world" keeps us trapped in never ending cycles of self mortifyng activity to reach the impossible: it transforms the world we know in the samsara, while it isn't necessary. The most radical thing a human can do is to accept his mortal condition of transient being: to know himself, to reap the veil that conceals not a hidden beyond, but that there is nothing to conceal. That's very traumatizing. And accepting that is a sign of maturity.

Thank you very much for your feedback @olliephillips6446 much appreciated! I figured I’d throw in a little „attention check“ you know, just in case someone was dozing off. But it looks like you were definitely paying attention! 😄 I might need to stay consistent with the gender next time though! ☺️
Yep. If you lost your job, just start a YT channel, and you'll be fine.
(That's why we have so many absolutely trash videos/channels, of which I specifically hate the intentionally contrarian stuff designed for attention grabbing. Spotted a strange little red dot on your cheek this morning? STOP EATING THE WRONG SUGAR - YOU HAVE ANAL CANCER, PAL!)
@@dremovremen1764 there’s definitely a lot of content out there, and some of it can feel like it’s just trying to grab attention in all the wrong ways. But losing a job can also open up new doors. Whether it’s starting a podcast, using the time to improve your skills, or even finding a better job opportunity, it’s a chance for reinvention. Some people use that time to learn new things, build on their passions. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Are you giving news to God what He doesn't know?
@JaferRealAccount Thanks for your comment! The video is about philosophical ideas, not about divine knowledge.
black swan theory is just another name of uncertainty ...
@@Mr.Eminem indeed, butit’s more about those rare, unpredictable events with huge impact.
