It was a month-to-month tenancy; he could have left at any time. He stayed because he was enjoying only paying $250 for rent. You can't complain about an apartment being illegal and wanting all your rent back when you lived there for almost four years.

A 70 year old for instance can tell you about real racism. So leads me back to my original comment being 50 has nothing to do with it. If you are 5O you mainly grew up in the 1980s and even the 1990s. there isnt any significance difference between racism levels in the 1980s vs today. I'm not surprised he pulled the race card at the end. The judge got it right on this one!

You cant live in an illegal apartment for many years and months then when you find out its illegal you demand all the rent you paid back because if that was possible that will be an incentive for tenants to actually go out and specifically look for illegal apartments to move into

The shocking part is that the plaintiff made it a whole 2 years in Los Angeles without getting into a car accident. He must be really lucky or drove about 100 miles a year.

When people lie their mouth gets really dry, the plaintiff is talking as if he has a sponge in his mouth.

Is it just me or does the plaintiff seem to have cognitive issues. I GENUINELY believe him when he didn’t understand or know.. he literally looks confused the entire time

Yes!! How is the judge not picking up on that? I wonder if the accident is the cause.

Perils of being who I am in America? Seriously? Not going to get ahead in life with that mentality. 😂. Guarantee the plaintiff has more money than I do.

The tenant knows d*** well. He's living in illegal unit. And he should be thankful that he got to live there and quit trying to sue and steal this man's money what a thief.
