      studies show that less that 2 percent of people taking 1 mg fina have side effects, and these side effects aren't necessarily the dreaded ones (ED). So why do you feel the need to push this rhetoric? As a man who started balding really fast at 19, and managed to save his head full of hair thanks to Finasteride (going on 33, my thick luscious curls are still the basis of my style), I just want every young men to be able to avoid the dreadful feeling of losing one's hair.

      @@davidn.8150 understandable to be worried! But before claiming anything, especially when it comes to health, it’s worth doing a little research! Finasteride has been around for decades and has been administered in doses 5-6x higher to people with other health issues (prostate problems) so we have a pretty clear understanding of its safety over time. In other words, if we had messed up and Fina posed significant risks over time, we would know by now.

      @@jul3249 you just havve to be realistic. It is messing with your hormones to a degree; that's literally how it works. So how that will impact you 30 years from now is going to be difficult to document. I don't think you should rule out the possibility of paying the piper in some way. It might still be worth it for you or for others.

    So basically his transplanted hair has stayed but his native hair has continued to fall rapidly. I’d say this guy was a very poor candidate for a transplant anyway, naturally very thin hair and a diffuse thinner. He definitely started finnasteride way too late and didn’t give it long enough either. I know a guy who had a HT back in 2016 and didn’t take fin and his hair looks amazing still, but he was a slow receder with very thick hair.

      Yeah but with SMP your head still shines like when you are bald, and it is smooth, without any texture. The way he has it now, it is like having a realistic SMP, where his head will not shine and he actually has a texture if you run your hand through his head. Also, it wont fade with time and he will not have to worry about wearing hats or sun screen all the time, or shaving like every two days for it to not be noticeable, or paying every 2-3 years for a retouch. I am thinking of getting a transplant and if it doesnt work out I will just shave, and it will result like a realistic SMP.@@zr5451

    I made a $1500 hair transplant in Turkey in 2014. I had great results and very dense hair until this year, when I suddenly started diffuse thinning. Never used any meds, wasn’t even aware of them and can’t recall my surgeon said anything about it. Started meds 2 months ago, wish I had done some research back then and I could have been on meds all this time and possibly not have any thinning. The point is to anyone that is considering a hair transplant, don’t forget about medical therapy.

    He looks good! He needed to take finasteride sooner to stop the top of head hairs falling out. However theyve done a good job at the front, and its standard to only transplant one area at a time. They have over harvested the donor area however SMP would fix that. If he has enough grafts left then he could get the top done over a couple of transplants along with finasteride. Or just work the shaved look now he has a good front and get SMP on the back.

If you’re 40 and kept most of your natural hair then do a transplant to top it up then yea you probably won’t need meds because it’s not aggressive hair loss. Clinics often insist that you first take finasteride for 6 months to a year, before undergoing transplant. They do this to improve your donor area and your recipient balding portion. But remeber this improvement in the donor is borrowed due to effect of finasteride, and it's gonna go away once you stop taking the medicine. So beware of such clinics, who try to make a fool out of patients, by giving them good results solely by taking loan from the medicines. Instead go for an honest clinic, which will give you realistic expectation and long term sustainable results. Also choose a clinic which gives you freedom to choose rather than forcing you to take medicine.

    Why would you advise against transplanting on the sides / temples?

    • @letsgethair
      @letsgethair  Рік тому +7

      Not saying nobody should ever do temples, but I think that people should not overdo them + never do them while not being on medication.
      Why transplanting too much hair on sides (temples) should not be obsessed about by most guys:
      Because the % of doctors who can do them well is low,
      Not everybody is a good candidate for temples because of thick hair caliber for example, even if he has a great donor (and not every doctor is using the fine nape hair for temples).
      Lowering the hairline will improve your appearance more significantly than tightening your temples
      You can not really style your temples unlike the hair on top. Temples don't add any volume to your hairstyle (because they are on sides). I prefer using most of the already limited donor hair on the top of my head instead, where the hair could fulfill the coverage role much better than if placed on sides.

      @unclechaelsneckvein Рік тому

      @@letsgethair Thank you for the detailed answer! My sides suck ass, and I'm thinking of going for a hair system (since it's much more of a permanent solution in my eyes than medication and a transplant, since I'm losing ground on fin and min). And I thought if I'm wearing a system I only need hair on the sides, temples and back, and I could have a transplant on these areas.

    • @sakshiagrawal501
      @sakshiagrawal501 Рік тому

      Matt you are absolutely correct here. Temple creation is a very fine skilled work, not every surgeon can do this. You need to use finer hair from the nape of the neck, the angle of grafts is almost horizontal and also the temples should be created in a receded pattern, then only it looks natural. Only those transplant surgeons, who have doing this for 10-15 years can make it look subtle and natural.

      it is resistent, I made for example hair transplant 7 years ago not a single hair felt out from the transplanted ones, can guarantee that this medication is not needed for your transplanted hairs as long as the donor area doesn't start to get weak as well, if your hairs in donor area are still strong so they will be on the transplanted zone, this medication haves nothing to do with hair transplant, this medication is prevention for losing your natural hairs, this guy looks much worst because he lost his natural hairs then sure the new transplanted hairs can't cover the area alone and it looks bad, I never took any medication still all great not lost a single hair and they super strong still. really some advertising videos for Finasteride Matt doing now I watching since the beginning, but for sure its not untrue that taking Finasteride is good for your hairs you can really prevent losing your natural hairs and strength all hairs if medication dont have side effects on you, but for your transplanted hairs like I said don't need to be worried they don't fell out if you don't take medication. they just will be exactly the same were they come from the donor area.

      Don‘t worry bro I got you:
      First of all use some natural DHT Blocker which won‘t harm you like Finasteride.
      I would recommend the Advanced Trichology dht blocker as it is 100% natural ingredients, has been researched for 15 years and is FDA approved. While it doesn't block as much DHT as Finasteride (70%), only about 25-30%, it's definitely a good start to prevent hair loss.
      Next, besides the oral, you need something tropical to get better results. I recommend the Keeps Thickening Shampoo which not only removes/blocks DHT from your scalp but also adds volume to your hair making it look thicker and denser.
      Third, I would recommend essential oils. The best are peppermint oil for more density, rosemary oil, pumpkin seed oil, saw palmetto and green tea for blocking DHT and promoting blood circulation and last but not least Alma seeds which reduce DHT in the scalp and supply vitamin C to the hair follicles.
      I suffer from hair loss myself and can recommend these remedies to you. And if you still need motivation or hope I can only tell you that in the next 4-5 years revolutionary hair loss remedies will come onto the market. That means you just have to use all the recommended stuff until then.

      There is no need to start a strong medicine like fimasteride at such an early stage of hair loss. You should have applied only topical minoxidil. But now since you have been taking finasteride for a long time, your hair must have become dependent on it. On stopping the medicine, high chances that you will see a rapid massive rebound hair thinning and hairfall. You can decrease the dose of finasteride to may be 1/4th of the dose that you are taking. Also I have seen Dr. Shaiil Gupta, at Satya clinic, using trichophytic closure technique, wherein he closes the scar in such a way that you can see hair coming out through the scar tissue, thus making it almost invisible.

      Well i had two transplants and never took meds. I went from hair almost as bad as George on Seinfeld to a pretty average head of hair for a guy in his 40's. I use powders to make it look thicker, which only works if you have some hair. My wife is a playboy model. I'm not joking, she literally is. And i don't have to pay the piper for some hormone changing drugs that will obviously mess with me over time. So that' the point.

    • @exactly1176

      Wouldn't work long term. Minoxidil doesn't block the DHT.

      @8398 minoxidil doesn't decrease DHT at all.
      Minoxidil works by opening the potassium channels, it's a growth stimulant (that's why it works great alongside finasteride basically)

    Why people take finasteride if it only works for a couple of years?

    • @exactly1176
      @exactly1176 Рік тому +6

      Finasteride works for as long as you use it. Just look at the Japanese study on finasteride.
      Also we have lots of real life finasteride users that have been maintaining for more than 20 years.
      Edit :
      And let's say finasteride start to lose in efficacy 25 years later : in 25 years they will be better hairloss treatment than finasteride (GT20029 etc... etc...) .
      You will be happy to still have hair at that time when you will get on another better hairloss treatment 😉. So it's a good idea to buy yourself lost of time while on finasteride. As simple as that.

    • @BiZii1024
      @BiZii1024 Рік тому +5

      If I remember correctly longer studies on finasteride 5-10 years shows that finasteride give regrowth for like first 2 years but hairs stop falling for most of the people as long as you are taking it (at least in the context of 10 years)

    • @exactly1176
      @exactly1176 Рік тому +4

      @BiZii1024 absolutely. And the graph shows it stays perfectly stable during those 10 years (without going down at all) so we could easily say that it keeps working even for 15 years to 20 years or more .... (I mean maintenance not regrowing hair for that long obsiously). And yes the regrowth are mostly during the first 24 months of finasteride use.
      All of that shows that finasteride is an extremely effective drug and will definitely buy us enough time until a better hairloss treatment comes to the market ! The future is bright 🌞 😉
