Idk what it is about V9, but it had that "end of an era" feel to it, our characters we've grown to love changed, they've grown up, like us.

More like Casey Lee Williams grew with us. She started her career with RWBY back in 2014 and is leading the charge with Martinez now, 2023.
Although V10 is arriving soon, I don’t doubt your” end of the era” idea. We await for sunny days in Vacuo, 2024, give or take.

Pretty bittersweet to know this note is where the series as we know it ended on but in a somber way it’s kinda fitting.

Casey did such a great job with this soundtrack honestly it’s blown me away. So glad her and Martin were able to work on this volume although I do miss Jeff’s classical rock. His influence is clearly heard even if he isn’t producing anymore.

I'll miss Jeff but I really like what Martin and Casey did here. It's very cool they kept the musical theme somewhat reminiscent of the old, somewhat evolved, transformed, and new.
Yes they are their adults now no longer kids even though fanworks are still portraying them as children like crossovers and as for me I still see them as adults because it's finally time for them to act "More like grown ups" in the next and soon to be Volume 10 and arc coming soon.
That fanart of Ruby leaving the Ever After is so beautiful but yet set sad to see it go, and go back home with Weiss, Yang, Blake, and Jaune

There was a break I took for two volumes, but I’m back now!
In Volume 3, our favourite heroes have grown up. In Volume 9, they've matured up.
Yeah in Volume 3 they were forced to. But now they chose to, and it turned out so much for the better for them.
This volume is deep I know people have mixed feelings about this season but I am happy they are bringing up topics about self-worth like feeling like your not enough, depression, bottled up feelings and emotions are high right now this volume was amazing with music I hope it continues to be amazing
Being someone who struggles with that every day, this Volume has become very special to me. I haven't had a favorite Volume since 6. But I mostly liked 6 for the step up in animation quality compared to 5.
But this one? This one is different. This is probably the only Volume I've connected with on a personal level. The entire Volume (especially episodes 7-10) has captured the cycle that I constantly go through in my life. Volume 9 has become my absolute favorite Volume in RWBY because it speaks to me.
I can understand why some people might be disappointed that after 2 years this volume doesn't really progress the main plot at all, and I am looking forward to getting back to that in Volume 10... but at the same time what V9 lacks in plot development is made up for in character development. Things went *so* badly for these characters in the last 2 volumes. The more I think about it the more I appreciate this Volume giving them the opportunity to recover from that before throwing them straight back into the war.
It was better than 8, for what little that's worth! But I still can't watch this show.and not pull my hair out in frustration (hyperbole, relax folks) at how even 9 volumes in the same goddamned mistakes happen again and again. The same pitfalls in character writing. The same cowardice to truly challenge the heroine's righteousness and have them acknowledge "yeah we fucked up, no point in dwelling on it, we learn and we move on". The even had the perfect setup for them to acknowledge it when yang accuses a ruby who is having a meltdown that she is starting to sound like ironwood! All we needed was to have ruby go "and maybe we could have listened to him some more" or something like that. They could have had the official reveal of yang and blake dating by having that whole storm force them to air some grievances that had been building up in the background, confirming their relationship was happening off-screen for a while because literally no one was impressed or surprised or anything (well, maybe surprised that the show even considered their confession and getting together worthy of highlight after v6-8). Oh and jaune being used as a vehicle for a meta joke while completely missing how creepy it sounds in-universe.
And I could go on, I want this fucking show to be good, it threatens to do so so frequently but then just...doesn't!
Also their handling of mental issues I find insulting. You got ptsd? Hold your crush's hand for it to go away immediately. You're wounded? Ask a friend to kill you. Apparently cruel and pragmatic decisions are ok when done by the main cast. You are feeling let down by everyone? Off yourself. Do it in front of them too! That's not completely fucking psychotic.
Because of what it used to be, and what it has shown it could still be (volumes 6 and 7 specifically, even if 6 was spotty) I want to love this show. But it just refuses to let me. It refuses to finally get gud for love or money.

I could go on and on about what the show does right and how amazing it is and how good it is and unnecessarily criticized compared to what the others shows are bringing.. but I wont waste my time. This show has completely changed my life and is still one of my all time favorite fantasy animated shows of all time and still manages to deliver to this day and clearly thousands if not millions agree and are still tuning in. All that begs the question, if you feel that way so strongly why are you still here. This show will go down in history as one of the greatest indie american shounen animations of all time for countless individuals.

This song really feels like a liminal space and moving onto a new frontier, it was a really wonderful conclusion to an incredible RWBY volume. Casey and Martin have done a wonderful job helming the music production for this Volume and I'm really excited to see where they take it next!
Ever since Casey made her band "ok goodnight", I feel like she made an identity with her music and vocals that I can hear plain as day with every song she's made since with RWBY. I don't know how to explain it well, her music became really iconic and easily recognizable I guess?
After years of having depressing endings to volumes, I'm glad we're given a story of hope just this once

@@obscurewondering3162 Rwby is not a cheap show to produce, It might have been in Volume 1 when most of the costs were keeping Monty fed and in Mo-cap suits, but it's a full massive animated series now with some of the better 3D anime style animation outside of Studio Orange. It probably costs millions to produce a volume now. So yeah, he needs to get the greenlight from the big bosses. Unless V9 and RWBY/DC did numbers it has a chance of failing. I think it will manage mind.

Yeah i got the feeling that Jeff wad being tired of making the music for RWBY way back in like S5-6, while Casey seems to like it still
What I really love about this song is it feels very RWBY, but not like anything we've heard before. Typically other RWBY songs are high energy and fast, or slow and sad. But this song evokes a different emotion, something far more complex and represents a lot of where the characters are in their journey.

I still get super emotional when I hear this song. This Volume is super special. I hope CRWBY are happy and can pat themselves on the back for this one. Volume 9 is hands down my favorite Volume now. It’s going to be hard to top this for sure since it’s so personal for me.
This volume it really felt like volume 1 again with the fairy tale allusions and aesthetics. Idk how to explain it but its like we're back to rwby but all grown up/been through so much. This series and the soundtracks for some reason always seem to follow my life and the themes I'm going through at the time. Its surreal.
I have honestly grown so close to these characters throughout the 9 Volumes (especially for Ruby and Jaunne) that I legitly cried when they managed to finally leave their struggles behind in the Ever After... I was devastated after Volume 3 and was really worried for what will happen to my favourite heroes... I rooted for Ruby and Jaunne so hard as if they were my own children.
I believe this show is constantly getting better and better and seriously pray that Volume 10 be greenlit!
I highly doubt this is the end.❤ And yeah, I wished SO hard for Ruby and Jaune to find peace and acceptance in all that has happened to that, and I felt pride in them for overcoming those dark times.🥹 And what with things calming down, production of the next season might take less longer to make. After all, we still got the Crown of Choice and Sword of Destruction to get!😉

volume 9 was so damn good. As the 10 year anniversary volume of RWBY, it blew it out of the water. Volume was easily the best RWBY volume ever. Some issues here and there but generally great as a whole. Can't wait for the V9 ost and then V10 announcement

This vol was an emotional trip for me. This song was just the suplex finisher thst nailed me in the feels. Honestly feels like a song we all heard as kids back in 2000 from a movie we barely remember watching.

I feel at peace when i listen to this song. I could not explain why. I think i'm in love with this instrumental part. If i close my eyes, i imagine someone flotting completly peaceful and feeling so much serenity.

Just finished all of volume 9, every episode having an insane bombshell of emotions drop. An insanely good chapter to that conveys a message every episode.

RWBY Is back so I came back to this masterpiece of a song! It's just a new beginning.
I was trying to think about what this song was reminding me of because it's composition felt soooooo familiar (in a good, not copying way). This reminds me of Utada Hikaru's music for Kingdom Hearts for some reason. All I know is this song is reaaaallly good.
The journey Ruby goes through in Volume 9 really resonates with me and my experience accepting myself as trans, and getting ready to take that leap.
It's a leap of faith. It might look like the end of a story, but it's just the prologue in an even greater one!
We all change through our lives. Some in miniscule ways, some in more noticeable ways. None of us are ever the same person. Whether that change is for good or ill, only time will tell. It always does.
This soundtrack was similar enough to the music from previous volumes to fit in but different enough to be unique in its own way. I really enjoyed the feel of this song, its really something else and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the songs when their full versions come out.

Volume 9 ending was beautiful, and the song is heartwarming.
I went through what Ruby did in V9 over my life. It can be so hard to see any light. But honest to God, this show, these characters, reminded me why I love life, why I love this world & this fanbase. When I truly thought I was at my lowest, when my mind went to dark places, this show showed me I mattered. And now, now Im just so fucking grateful to be alive.
It hurts to know that the show may in fact be done forever, but this is as a good homage song for it as possible. For all my gripes about recent RT, gonna miss the titan and trailblazer of industry.

what i loved about this volume is that the songs that they made for this volume gave us a feelings that the characters have grown up as times goes by, it really makes it so heartwarming because the songs also made us feel the same emotions as the characters feel, i love this series so much huuhuu 😭😭😭💕💕💕

This song is underrated, honestly. Everything about it is perfect. From the haunting vocals and etheric instrumental, the simple yet fairy-tale esque lyrics and song writing, to the build up and climax. Of all the songs they've done, this and Fear are arguable their best.
There's just so much emotion to it, and it ties perfectly with the end of this volume.

If you really think about it, "The Edge" actually matches pretty significant and interesting similarities together with the "Red Trailer". "I arrive at the edge of the world..." Ruby arrives into the story at the edge of a cliff where her mother, Summer Rose, and her grave rests upon. "...and I wonder. Should I sit or should I stand? Should I kneel?" What do you do when you're face-to-face with a grave that you are paying respect to? You wonder about which position you should be in when you're giving your prayers. Sitting, standing or kneeling? "I'll meet you at the horizon where we first met." Interestingly, the "Red Trailer" is the very beginning of the story of RWBY, and that's where we meet our first ever character of the show, and that character is "Ruby Rose", and much more interestingly is that the trailer first reveals Ruby standing at a horizon line. In my opinion, I honestly believe "The Edge" to basically be symbolizing the 5th stage of grief: "Acceptance", and this song is Ruby Rose finally achieving that stage, which would make a lot of sense as to why she would be making similarities between her beginning and who she is now, that is if this song really is about that.
God this sound track is absolutely stunning, I really can’t wait for the full release of guide my way

Scene: Neo let's Roman go and then she ascends to be born again as someone new. It's also kind of like how Trivia "died" and was reborn as Neo.
The song is also called The Edge, there is the scene where Neo is straight up standing at the edge of the tree looking down before jumping in to ascend.
It's probably a Ruby song. All those things can be applied to her, maybe better than to Neo.

The other volumes were finally distant enough that I could ignore the continuity mistakes and such on first watching and just enjoy the show for what it is.
And it was really good. The soundtrack this time around played no small part in that either.
Sometimes you have to go with your gut and stumble through it, let history decide what is wrong and what is right.
At least that's what I believe what this volume's ending is telling me...

_The Edge_ is a perfect tear-jerking conclusive track for Volume 9's "Hero's Journey" for Ruby Rose and her friends who came to basically rediscover themselves and grow as people, let alone as heroes.
Through death and rebirth, Ruby is now at the very top of her game... the day she's long been waiting for, dare I say!
