I studied for a nail certificate (for personal use)...we were told to use a disinfectant in the water for clients. I always went further and washed my feet with a peroxide bath or a mild bleach solution. I went into a shop in California (with clean feet) and I got a fungus in the flesh of my feet. That was it!!! I do my nails, now!!! Some salons are so filthy. They use dirty equipment.

Unless you had been recently to the doctor for your feet and they could come in on the stand and claim you're feet were in fine health prior to the salon visit you cant prove much. That being said you could go a long route of getting them shut down and having warrants made out for their equipment having it tested and seeing if the fungus matches what's on you're feet etc but to do that you gotta know people spend about 100k minimum on lawyers and such and if it ain't a chain you got nothing because they'll claim bankruptcy and you'll get maybe a small portion of your lawyer fees back. So dont stress you had no "real" options. Also depending on where this is the 2nd options with all the money in the world might not work.
Speaking from a standpoint of a nail business personnel. Such an attitude toward our customers is unacceptable. If he the pedicurist got enough, he should quit his job and do something else. Not every customer come to a nail salon from their home. Most of the customers, I believe come out of their work day tired, wear off and they deserve to have their feet treat right and a relax environment including welcoming attitude. Such content reflects the lack of self respect from a professional worker and respect for our customers. Not all pedicurists have such an attitude toward our customers.

I mean, that's part of experience. Clients love it when they get their feet washed. It's a relaxation technique, and not only that, every nail salon is required to do that. So if you don't like it, get in trouble, get fired and walk through that door and feel like you should be ashamed of yourself of making that video, you'll regret it.
Your daughter wasn't lying. I did nails and pedicures in the 90s prettiest women who had money and nasty feet toe ham city thick callouses and gross acrylic nails. Pedicures were everything cleaned then and a polish. Now most women have polish on the feet regularly back then polished toes were not as popular. I hated doing feet and later would only do the acrylic nails.
One time I had a guy come in. He had worn leather shoes at a festival and I guess it had rained. his whole feet were stained black. He was in need of a pedicure too. It was a lot of work. He didn’t even try to fix it himself. Just came in like that. SMH.
I thought it was just common knowledge and curtesy to shwoer and stuff because getting anything done, it’s the same as going to the dentist you brush and floss all that stuff, last time I got a mani pedi I made sure I was super clean even scrubbed my hands and feet really well lol they aren’t doing the service just to clean your feet you should be able to do basic hygiene lol

I work manufacturing one time. The nail salon by my work was cool went in straight up told them yeah I work at this company that makes us stand all day and my feet hurting. She told me no worries we take care of you like family since my in laws goes to the salon and I had no idea they went to the salon.

Sometimes I feel like there’s a disconnect because personally my feet have never smelt bad enough that they stink i work a physical full time job but other people just are naturally stinky. But I feel like when it comes to get your feet soaked you can use a product that helps make feet smell nice. It’s not something I expect but a service for both the client and employee.

Especially in my teen years when guys start getting smelly everywhere, especially feet. Best habit I learned as a man. Pretty disgusting I imagine for the nail tech just like it might be for your barber cutting dirty hair and seeing a dirty scalp. Oh and for us guys, the ladies like it when you take care of your feet. You don't need a pedicure, just wash and use a pumice stone weekly and trim the toe nails. It's not that hard. Or go get a pedicure with your girl. It's great.

It’s hard to believe people go to nail salons gross. They’re the exact people that being a trashed car to their mechanic. Just really ignorant I professionally do gardening and I’m very aware of staying clean you can get gross pretty fast but if they smell they haven’t taken a shower in the last 12-24 hours which is ridiculous to go to salon. When I go mountain bike or workout after work I take a shower first then take another if I’m drenched mountain biking in the heat😂

Noted I only got my pedicure and nails done once in my life when I was younger. So I’ll keep that in mind if I ever get it again.

When I go mountain bike or workout after work I take a shower first then take another if I’m drenched mountain biking in the heat😂
I understand that they stink, but have some common courtesy and do that in the back and then walk in. If you would have done that to me, sir, you would have not been tipped. That is just rude!

😂 all you humans sniffing each other and complaining about smell when you probably have a scent that someone else doesn’t like shower or not. Mind your own business including hygiene. Not everyone has immediate access to a shower. Also, not everyone thinks of disinfecting their shoes where the foot bacteria actually like to make home. Instead of being rude be helpful and take that opportunity to educate your client. You care enough to do this job so like any healthcare professional (yes, this job is considered healthcare) help educate and inform them or any concerns or issues. Nobody is perfect and surly you are not infallible.

Exactly. You are so correct. Clean People don't say stuff like that. I guess it is because I was raised in a proper environment. And yes I shower twice a day; however, I don't say ignorant stuff like that. Baths are nasty if you walk around barefooted.
