Man I remember how intimidating woods was as a new player, but after sucking it up and learning the map, I realized it’s one of the best maps in the game.
this is my first wipe and I felt the same as you, I must have went in at least 10 times trying to get jaegers letter until I did it then decided to finally learn it and it's now one of my favourites
I know Woods to the back of my hand and think it's easily the worst map in the game 😂.. Only my opinion though. Customs is the epitome and perfect example of what a good map should be like in shooters.
@@ItsAlpa All preference as you say, you might like choke points on the map and people kinda forced to conjugate to a few spots for some nice CQC but a lot of people love the sniping and sneaking around on woods mixed with some very nice CQC in spots like the camps and lumber mill. I personally always loved Labs, and wish it wasn't such a feast or famine in terms of balancing as it's either the absolute best map in the game or worst.
Biggest tip i can give for new players who are learning the maps is hide for the first 20 minutes. Bring food, set up camp and get away from your spawn. After get up and roam the map doing fetch quests, most quests campers and pvp chads are gone and you can complete multiple fetch quests and scav kill missions with less pmc interference
First wipe, learned woods and never get lost anymore, but still get domed randomly running or creeping through the denser woods in remote locations. Somehow I can sit in the middle of the village for 5 min wasting ammo trying to kill scavs. But in a weird spot a mile away from any loot I get tapped. swear half the woods players sit in a bush and load up a TV show or UA-cam video on another screen and sit there for 30 min staring at trees.
you can't purchase 30round akm mags from lvl1 traders anymore aside from a barter unless they've changed it since wipe, cause of that change I found myself hoarding tons of 30rnd akm mags for use with veprs and stuff lol
I have 12 shitty -4 ergo ak mags taking so much space from my standard acct stash goddammit why would Prapor sell these rounds with nowhere to put it what the fuck
@@JarrylKhan well you can buy the 10 rounders and a huge tip, the fake 30round mag, the one that's the size of a 30rounder that only holds 10 rounds, that mag is super light and even gives +7 ergo last I checked, if you just need something to hold that ammo, I suggest getting those if you have a big enough rig

Buy green outfits from ragman, wear a ratnik, and a green shemagh if you can get one. On woods you can just go prone and disappear pretty much anywhere, or just lay down in general for sniping or getting the drop on people. Crazy amounts of success just laying down in the most random places, even just in the open with no cover hiding in grass. It's so difficult to spot people laying down.
Those dorms safes have been huge for me this wipe too, made millions off of it and completed quests for myself and several others doing them. People don't go to dorms as much they used to in previous wipes, and I think it has to do with the marked key being so rare/nerfed.

Woods was very scary for me when i started long ago. but when i got down on it it was really a rewarding map. Just try to get to know landmarks so you won't get lost, Know where Scavs usually show up, where the hot spots for PVP are and you'll be golden. Still a Pepega in the game tho even all these years XD hopefully this wipe i would could try to get a Kappa for the first time.

Ill never forget when you uploaded a video like this back for like 12.11 or whatever wipe scav karma first got introduced, and I had just started playing and even then you recommended woods. Ever since I just go all in on nearly every kit I use now because I know that even if I die with it I can just go pistol run or scav woods and get like 600k like its nothing because of that original video. People always think labs is the loot map but its always been woods

9:24 I couldn't agree more with this statement. Tarkov is supposed to be realistic. In reality, there's no cheap strategy if it allows you to stay alive. Natural selection doesn't care about people making excuses for their failure.

Any quest will get you XP, but not all quests will get you more quests. In addition, many quests are level locked. So even after you give hree Salewas to Therapist you're going to need to get to level 4 before you get the next quest from her. The exception is Jaeger. Once you unlock him (level 2 & completing Introduction) there are over 25 quests you can complete no matter what level you are. And while in theory it's a good idea to keep any quest items, that has to be weighed against the quest level requirement, the probability the player will reach that level, the item rareness, whether it can be crafted, and the amount of stash space it occupies. For flash drives I personally recommend doing scav runs on Reserve and looting the filing cabinets in the white & black knight buildings (and the ones at the checkpoint if that's your extract). In addition to getting to level 15 I recommend pushing to complete Stash Level 2 (for non EoD players, needs Vents 1) and Intelligence Center 1 (for Fence quests, needs Vents 1&2, Security 1&2, Illumination 1). Some of the other hideout modules (e.g. Lavatory 1&2) are also useful to build early. For Woods, going north-north east is usually a safe plan until you've gotten your bearings. Beginning players should avoid Sawmill and rushing any of the other POI early. Personally I love doing scav runs on Woods and hitting all of the caches and the valuables in the sunken town.
Regarding Vepr vs OP SKS - the OP SKS is a great option but, it seems to be heavily overlooked that you can actually buy the basic 30mm scope mount and barter a Tac-30 scope for two vodkas from level 1 Jaeger which is an incredibly good scope setup for so early on, even being a good setup at any stage of a wipe.
I have seen a few of your videos lately and I have seen when you use some scopes like the monstrum the reticle is red I have tried looking many places to find how to do this and I can not find how. I have tried alt+right click and it doesn’t work I use hold ads not toggle and I use alt for the free look. I was wondering if anybody could help me with this because I would greatly appreciate it.

dying out of nowhere is kinda a new player phenomenon. I'm not saying it dosen't happen, but once you learn the maps, you'll start to understand where your dying from and how to survive raids more.
Shoreline has been a pain in my arse this wipe, constantly getting dropped by 54mmBT especially during the first week of the wipe which was super sus, turns out lots of RMT runners love shoreline. Now not every experience there was that but really no other map did I have the feeling of something wasn’t right when I died.
Yea quite alot sus people at snoreline from time to time. On the other hand, if it happens 10 seconds into raid it might not be so sus, learning spawns in shoreline gives you the ability to lurk and hold a chokepoint almost immediately into the raid since shoreline spawns are often quite rough

" You only need one stray pellet to hit them in the head to kill with shotguns " This is only true with express buckshot outside of 10meters due to damage calculation with ranges. Make sure you include this the next time you reference shotgun tips because not even magnum will one pellet someone to the head outside of 10meters.
Not all of the playerbase plays immediately at the start of the wipe and there's new players and players who struggle to level a month in is still early there's plenty of sub level 20's about
got into the wipe very late and my friends just gave me some .366 TKM AP-M ammo and i play with the VPO-209 it help a lot i one taped a fat dude while being lvl 4 on my first woods solo and he aparently the best sniper of the game they told me xD but the hardest thing is that on standard edition u will become a master of tetris damn it's annoying...

Just had one of my best raids on Interchange. 4 juiced PMCs loads of scavs. Manage to get all the optimum loot without being too overweight, then got one shot in the ear by a scav with 7mm buck on the ramp on the way out 😐
My biggest struggle is audio. I have some Astro A-40 trs and I’ve never had issues with them. But when it comes to tarkov I can’t hear anything. I don’t want to max out my volume either. Any tips on how to hear stuff and not absolutely obliterate my ears.
Super easy tips on wood the game dont spawn you in front off Landmine dont turn 180° straight and its fine . Learn some landmarks Sniper rocks , L mountain , Multiple lac , Big Lake and Swamp village . Exctract Outskirt the only one (West Bottom) Ruaf & Un Roadblack ( South East) and Other Top-Mid East . Do not 100% avoid Road for the Exctract on West give you mush easier task .

I agree with this 'chad vs rat' thing. That being said, I don't really like camping per se, but in situations where you have to push or be pushed - play whatever is comfortable for you. Most of the times I push - I die. While it's not the case for some streamers obviously, but I find it easier to win a fight, even against someone technically better, if I just quietly reposition and hold an angle.
Tbh im at a crossroads right now... I WANT to like the game i really do. But I absolutely cant see enemies ... I barely get to look at another PMC before they killed me. Got 10mil rubel and am lvl 17 2nd wipe and 300hours in. I either get sniped from something silenced, Camped on by someone who is leaning around a corner for minutes on end without moving Im close to giving up on the game because i absolutely cant manage PvP playing with two other i actually end up teamkilling because i have no idea were they were running to. I just dont know what to do.
The fishing for salmon at the end of the list seems so silly as its s uch a low lvl fish but like honestly... if it's a pvper it's probably not far off XD
I got rich after playing woods last wipe. Especially the valuables were absolute killer. But this wipe it seems to me they nerfed the valuable spawns. E.g i often find only 1-2 valuables in the old village and sometimes even none. So idk if this is just me or you guys made the same discovery?

Kinda funny. As a quite new player heard a lot "play woods" so I played about 30 raids on woods. 3/4 of my runs ended like 4 mins after start and rest of them in the middle of the raid. Extractet safely maybe 3 times. Really hate this map. Overall I have 10 lvl and about 60 raids. I killed only 6 pmc's. This game is hard af, but hope someday I get gut at it

The fishing for salmon at the end of the list seems so silly as its s uch a low lvl fish but like honestly... if it's a pvper it's probably not far off XD

I got rich after playing woods last wipe. Especially the valuables were absolute killer. But this wipe it seems to me they nerfed the valuable spawns. E.g i often find only 1-2 valuables in the old village and sometimes even none. So idk if this is just me or you guys made the same discovery?
Not just that. After all this advertisement from content creators, Woods are really busy. Always full of pmc's and scavs alike.
@@chrisgos I've had a few runs these last few nights [on Night Woods] where I swear I didn't hear a single gunshot or encounter anyone. It was great for making money, but nerve-wracking as you wonder "am I really alone? Or am I about to get ganked"

Kinda funny. As a quite new player heard a lot "play woods" so I played about 30 raids on woods. 3/4 of my runs ended like 4 mins after start and rest of them in the middle of the raid. Extractet safely maybe 3 times. Really hate this map. Overall I have 10 lvl and about 60 raids. I killed only 6 pmc's. This game is hard af, but hope someday I get gut at it

Having to wait till level 15 for flea is literally insane considering everyone above you has bullets that penetrate the only armors you can buy and you don’t have access to bullets that will penetrate their’s. Also, I can’t get a fucking variable zoom scope till level 15? Like jesus christ.
