If you’re introducing a line where the hero says “I don’t have to win, we both just have to lose” then he needs to also actually lose. He didn’t have to die himself but he should’ve lost something. Since Hope clearly went for the sacrifice play when she jumped back to save Scott she would’ve fit the bill nicely. If she died then Janet would also have had to face real consequences for what she did.

It’s not as easy as saying “Scott won.” He might have won the battle, but lost the war if that Kang was the one that could have actually stopped the Kangs we saw at the end of the movie. This seems to be consistent with the idea of free will and destiny that Loki & Sylvie struggled with. It might seem like a win, like Sylvie had against He Who Remains, but with devastating consequences.

When I was a kid, the experience of sitting down with a comic always left me with more questions than it answered. And it was perfect in this. It’s escapism, and plot holes themselves aren’t always antithetical to escapism (just the one’s resulting from lazy writing).
These films achieve what the comics did, and more. Before, until the conventions rolled in there was little in the way of community. Now, the fan community is practically everywhere and the films’ success is tied to this change in our culture.
Also, in the earlier phases we were always like “can’t wait until the pallet of character expands and crosses over all the time. Well now it’s happening, and we have a breakdown of the simplicity of the overarching story (ie infinity - to - multiverse sagas). Boo hoo. I love it. We’ve always wanted it. Here it is!
Marvel Team-Up from the 70s was so central to the development of the comics stories, and I’m happy to see it happening in the films.

I absolutely loved this film. It's literally what I wanted to see. It's not perfect, but I have seen it 3 times already. I love Marvel but I normally only see a film once in theaters. But whatever it is about this film is bringing me back. Now with that said, of course film is subjective, but some are acting like this film is the worst thing ever made. And I think 80% of it is people who do like it, but the cool thing is to hate. And that is the absolute worst of fandom.
Point is, I am hype for phase 5 and where this all leads.

It was very clear that I needed to watch the last episode of Loki again and boy. He really gives that character life. I can see all the emotions that I would feel if I had to make decisions. The whole background on Janet and his relationship was amazing. I wish they heavily leaned into that. Everyone has a weakness and pride can be a delicious exploit if exposed correctly. This has been seen many times in the comics. Janet meant a lot to him because she believed in him when his own "variants" casted him out. It seemed as though Kang admired the intelligence of Janet or maybe a deeper connection. Deep down I think he wanted someone adding on to your point to witness his ascension or belief there of.

Those of us deep in the nitty-gritty details are aware of what, who, and the scale of what Kang represents. I like the idea that they are establishing here that even when you _think_ you have beaten Kang, how will our heroes ever know? This is driven further home by the epilogue sequence (which I agree made the whole film for me as well as a great ending). Just seen it on Disney Plus. It's a visually beautiful film! The story is "Too Much. Too Fast". Feels like they compressed an entire season of a popular TV show into a two hour film. We know we were supposed to root for the Freedom Fighters fight against Kang, but the story moved too fast in a medley of so many other things that we don't get enough time to develop an affection for the Freedom Fighters. The film seems more like a two hour long movie trailer.

I also thought the theme of this movie was going to be Scott feeling bad that he lost so much time with Casie. But the movie isn’t about that at all. One of my biggest issues with the movie is no one even seems threatened by kang. Scott isn’t moved, hank isn’t moved, hope wants to understand why kang is a threat but she can’t, Janet is terrified of him but she literally does not explain the so called grace danger. All these mcu movies set up such big ambitions in the trailer and make you anticipate something threatening and then you watch the movie and it’s just not that serious at all.

I felt like the stakes in this movie were high because when Kang has his suit in and it was powered on and maxed out, you can see that he isn't a force to be reckoned with. However, when they were able to disable his suit he basically became a regular guy, a buff dude with some muscle and fighting skills, but just a regular dude. He doesn't have those blue beams that instantly kill people or can make a impenetrable force field around him.
