Looks like a smaller "John Cena"....
I was legit going to crack a joke about that
I just was reviewing this video and followed the advise and prepped before using the Turbo Spray Can. It was amazing to use on the door and completed it quickly without using my Air Sprayer. I spent more time setting the prep, but it was well worth it. Glad I came across your video. The 3M hand masker was pretty good, picked it up on sale, so was lucky there. Thanks for providing these videos, they help a lot for us Do it yourself types
This channel should be called "Paint Life TV Yo". Great tips... Always learn something new. Thanks for making these!
Hey Chris. I dont know if you've ever thought about using wax and grease removers used by the autobody industry but the stuff is great. Evaporates quickly and cheap as dirt vs buying krud cutter. I also by masking plastic from an autobody supply shop. Savings out the ying yang.
I love your helpful videos and tips! I pay attention to all your prep tips! I taught my 80 years old mom todo it too! Making in a wind is so hard! All my taping got undone fast. No prep - the mess will be I possible to clean. I hired some “professionals” and spent more time and money cleaning after them. Since then I paint myself!
I always like to see a side reflection of the finish to see how smooth it is.
So I tried this method and used some of the spraying info you teach in other videos as far as technique like keeping the same distance and never stopping or changing directions on the surface. The results were incredible. I also used the tape and paper gun you recommended, and white turbo spray on a maybe 50 year old steel door. It was chalky and had some light rust spots coming through the paint so I just used a grinder with wire brush head on it. Took down to bare metal in the rusted areas and knocked the chalk off everywhere that way. Sprayed the door and it looks like a brand new white hood on a pickup. It all worked amazingly well.
Cool video Chris and awesome job as always. Thanks for making these for everyone. You’re the man! Rock on.
I painted a flatbed for a truck with five cans.. got excellent results great coverage.. After time I found the nozzle uncomfortable even with using gloves. and you're right that paint drys real fast...
I literally learn something from every video I watch. Thanks Chris, keep doing what you're doing.
Interesting, I was just thinking of this. I don't want to purchase an airless spray painter, then I came across Rustoleom's Turbo spray. I then searched on UA-cam for painting trim with spray paint and came across your channel. Excellent review for those of us who are needing to know.
Thanks for sharing this. I just painted my entry door that was in desperate need and it came out great!
👍
I'm a fan of those Rustoleum spray cans too! I used them to paint 16 shutters and they came out awesome! Here is a tip - always buy one more can than you actually need because on my job, one can tip clogged and I could not free it for the life of me. My local home depot was out of stock, so I drove another half hour away to another Home Depot and bought the can I needed. I also bought the rustoleum rust inhibitor spray cans when I had to sand and repaint some metal sheds. After prepping/sanding/degreasing and then applying the rust inhibitor, I applied 3 coats of hunter green rustoleum spray paint and now the sheds look brand new. Thanks for the content you provide!
I switch the tip with a used can when that happens.
@@amandalandholm7866 Awesome idea! Thanks for the tip :)
Love the krud cutter. Soak painted hinges overnight and then wipe the paint off. Great video. Long ti e subscriber. Thanks for all the help. Go titans!
Awesome! Thank you!
Next time spray door ******VERTICAL****** First. You have more paint in the can when tilted on it's side. Then finish with horizontal strokes so can is in the upright position when running low in paint can. Nice job tho Man.
great tip
Theres the same amount of paint in the can regardless of how you tilt it.....
@@seasgarage What i was saying is that if you paint horizontal first you use up paint. Then when you tip the can to the side to do vertical spray, The dip tube will not be in the paint causing paint valve to spray just aerosol instead of paint. Same as if you turn can upside down...it wont spray paint.
@@petmycat2720 With minimal reading comprehension skills, I understood what you meant, and I agree that it's a great tip lol. Thanks
These comments!!!! Study long study Wrong!!!! It’s just one door he not shooting a stage 3 pearl job 😆
This is really interesting material. I appreciate the effort you put into providing it. Many thanks!
Prep is everything!
Very detailed step by step prep and process, plenty of tips.
Glad it was helpful!
As soon as I saw you doing what I need to do in a couple of weeks and saw you using the spray can. I immediately subscribed. Great video
Thanks
I primed a 15 x 10 gable of brand new cedar shakes with the zinnser primer version of that can. Great for being on a ladder! Also great control getting in between the shakes.
Chris, Good video. For rinsing the lifted chalk, and gunk, when you don’t have a power washer, try using your little hand held airless, along with a wet sponge or abrasive pad.
Great work Chris as always.
I was wondering about that one, glad you put out a video explaining it
I might use this on my old kitchen table. Need to give it a fresh look.
You should!
Looks good, I'll have to try that product sometime
Awesome video. Your videos are top notch quality and thanks for showing all of the steps in detail.
Glad you like them!
@@Idahopainter thanks for always stepping up your game
My favorite channel now for sure
Love it
Thank you sir
I must be learning tricks of the trade. 🤣 I had a brainstorm to spray primer oil based Cover All on my kitchen cabinets instead of cleaning my air sprayer. Glad I found this vid. Confirms my idea of deciding to use spray cans is okay and not being lazy..
How did it turn out?! I need to know! I don’t have an air sprayer and would love to not have to get one
Thank you for the details instructions. I will spray paint my garage door. I will definitely look for this product! I use coconut oil to clean the paint off of my hands and face.
I used that before, it's fast alright, lays down a lot of paint quick and also empties the can very quickly
You did a dang good job spraying that door for using a can of paint. Good job
Thanks
Another great instructional video learning a lot from you thanks
Thanks for your support
Great video and great product as well I would had not heard of that product as I am in the uk but it dose look good if there was a way I could get my hands on it and try it on my day to day jobs that be great fist time watching your videos have to say you good man keep up your great work love the vibe that you got
Thank you
the prep is what everyone need to pay attention to ,,jus sayin
Yep
Prep is everything in the Painting business.
Prep is 90% of the job always 👍
THIS IS A VERY UNIQUE, QUICK AND EASY WAY TO PAINT SMALL ITEMS, IT WOULD BE NICE IF THEY WOULD MAKE REFILL CANS IN THAT SAME TIP SIZE. SO THAT IT CAN BE REFILLED IN OTHER SUPPLIERS PAINTS. VERY NICE SPRAY CAN WITH THE TIP! THANK FOR THE GREAT CONTENT CHRIS.
I totally agree!
I-da-pimp painter. Thank you for the informative videos. You have definitely changed the way I paint for the better and are truely a pro. Very inspiring.
🤙
YOYOYO You be pimp'in those hoes...I mean homes!!!
"Prep work is always important"
Yep
@@Idahopainter very respectfully, you are one handsome man!!
I used those turbo cans to paint my car and it turned out great! High gloss black was the color I used.
nice
What? There is a real painter on UA-cam? Subscribed.
Great, video Kris, love how you stress the importance of Preparing (prep) work is before actually painting, excellent results comes from all the preparation and painting techniques. I noticed you decide not to prime that Grey door since you are painting it white? You sprayed five coats, I generally do one or two coats of primer depending on the color I'm covering, and two top coats. I think it be more cost effective since primer is less expensive and that spray can more expensive if you have to multiple doors. Aways enjoy watching another Professional Painter Artisans doing his magic. Thank you.
thanks for your support
I have a 2 stage turbine hvlp unit that I used to use for jobs like this. The clean up on the gun is very minimal, and it does a really superior job.
Being a tradesman myself, love to watch a professional do his thang! Awesome professional work brotha keep it up!
Make a “painters tool belt” video, or a “painters tool bag” or what’s in your truck? Do you have a shed full of supplies or something? I’m sure you could spend hours talking about it and I’d definitely listen.
I agree, it’s a great idea! I watched many Chris’s videos and made my own bag with his tools. Worked very good for me prepping and painting my house. My professional neighbor was very impressed with my bag and borrowed to help me to work on my house. Thank you all! Love tp paint!
Had trouble with bursting and clogging but found soaking them in a bucket of hot water for a minute or two got rid of that and made them spray way better
Good tip
Your price is great on this paint.. Home depot wants 46 dollars a can. I painted my trailer with one can and loved the way it came out.
I have done blends with a spray can and it turned out beautiful
Be cool to see one
I can't believe it took this long for a product like this to be available
Love your videos and info thank you so much!
Super informative! Thanks for sharing!
That was impressive, thanks!
🤙
Good work, buddy. Stay blessed !
👍
Going to buy this product for sure!!
Im heading to beach (shore) in nj for the day and my girlfriend missed our exit. I made fun of her bc she 0-3 with driving mistakes this morning. She tried to blame me bc she zoned out bc I wasn't talking to her. I was like well im watching Chris spray paint a door lol. She rolled her eyes.. I told her I wish we had painters like you around us. Would hire you guys in a heart beat. Love the videos ans tips.
Hopefully people that want to paint a door like this can see how much time is dedicated to it. It's just one door; however, when you quote to paint a door like this here in California, people get scare of the price. I say "Good Work is no cheap and cheap work is not good".
ALWAYS GREAT WORK SIR
Yeh the first time I used this it blew my mind holy crap this thing is a paint slinger get ya some of that
Wow, this can can fly and. Spray itself 👏
The prep work makes everyone run the other way when painting
What’s the going rate to a client for that job? Materials used, 2 cans, travel time, opportunity costs of a bigger alternative job. I’m curious what you or even viewers think is appropriate.
Just a quick tip Chris I put my tac tape on my wrist that way you dont have to look for it 👍
Nice, I see it works really well, after putting 4 coat's on how much was left and would it be suitable for interior doors? Thanks.
Excellent work.
Great stuff, bro.
I would have been fired if it took me this long to paint one door.
Lolol Right
You sure right !! Lol
Lol facts
Work for yourself, like him. Then you can't get fired.
He's making a video. Lol. Watch his others. He's not a slow painter at all.
Prep prep prep.. Nice job.
Do u get the typical orange peal effect w a can sprayer compared to airless spray. Thinking about doing my front door. I don’t have a large gallon sit tank to meet the air sprayer volume thanks Tim
Little tip Chris. Lose the crud cutter and give that door a good slathering of laquer thinner to clean. Will easily wipe out the chalking and you’ll never have a fish eye again. Also dries instantly. I have done that on all metal and fiberglass doors for yrs with zero issues. Also helps tape stick to problem areas like glass with greasy fingerprints.
TRPL FROSTY OG ///TSP works fine, but you’re missing the point. Laquer thinner is 1 step, period, done. No mixxing, pouring in bottle and no re-wiping. If you’re gonna go that route you might as well give it a 10 min orbital sander and just wipe down with damp rag. My point to Chris was 1 step process that works on every door including wood. Also works awesome for those hard to stick sashes and glass. TSP can etch glass....
Great tip
Paint Life TV/// I hope it works for you. Something i’ve done for many yrs with great success. Just be careful of course on sashes ect because it will take gloss off lickety split. Promise you it will make tape stick to almost anything:-)
Thanks for the great video. I noticed that you sprayed on 4 coats to get the surface covered fairly well and then, after it set for 10 minutes or so, and it became tacky, then you sprayed a final coat. Is this better than waiting for the coats to dry? Is there ever off-gassing problems from this procedure. I could save a lot of time doing it this way. Does it ever cause problems?
The door looks amazing now and I sprayed 4 coats 10 minutes apart
@@Idahopainter Thanks so much, Chris!
Good product demonstrated.
Glad you think so!
There's always something new to try and the only way to know if work is try it ... I like the way you work 👍. Thanks for all the tips you share whit us .. #paintlife ... #ilovemyjob ... #eddiethepainter ..
Thank you! Cheers!
I noticed he sprayed 5 coats but does look good paint as many as you need to make it look Good!
OK
Ive used this method a few times and i quickly realized that the paint takes 7 days (depending on conditions) to completely cure and have to be extremely careful with contact until full cure.
Yep
Nice work Brother!
Appreciate it!
I often use spray cans on bifold doors...take them off & spray them outside.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
What John Cena will look like when he gets older 🤣
🤙
Great video, Thanks
You are a really good painter
I see it sells in gloss white and gloss black can you custom order any other shade in gloss?
The people giving this a thumbs down have a sour soul.
lol
@@Idahopainter I enjoy the videos keep them coming boss.
Lots of distance learning 8th graders in a bad mood these days.
@@Idahopainter i want to join MAFIA, Why do I have to wait till February?!?!?!? 😳!!!
Wow! 1Peter 4:16 in your video description. It was the verse I needed! Amazing how the Lord used a paint video to confirm to my prayer.... Thanks......valuable product information and video too btw...
"But if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed but let him glorify God in having that name."
1 Peter 4:16
I like the wide tip, but what if I have some small areas to paint within the same job, do they make a smaller tip or same paint in standard can?
awesome job
Chris. Few people work as hard as we do !
Yep
thank you for your wonderful.....,,,,,
That was great for video purposes, but as a fellow painter I would have had it finished with a brush and roller by the time you had it masked up.😁
With brush and roll marks, all on it and with nowhere near as smooth of a finish. 🤷
@@Jesse13J Small nap roller does a great job.
Never seen a spray can that can be used like a spray gun. Going to try it out on my back door, thank you.
hope it goes well
It was amazing
Just curious, would it be better to hold the nozzle down the whole time instead of stopping/starting at the edges? Did you get any spitting from stop starts? Obviously you are the expert and are doing it this way for a reason.
You get too much paint if you hold the nozzle down. You get a more even flow by doing the stop and start.
Your origami side hustle is evident!
Wish we could have seen the finished product up close at the end.
Prep prep prep.... My customers always comment about how fast I am. I always tell them that part of it is experience and the other part is the prep work. A good prep jobs allows you to move faster and with confidence.
Well said!
Have you done or ever thought about doing a video on your workout routine? Even better, how you manage to get your workout in with a busy schedule like running your business. Usually by the time I get home I'm beat.
I did a series Fitness For Painters
Great video
A tack cloth was the only step missing. 98/100, great job!
Good tip
Great product.
It really is!
Thats crazy how long that took to mask and tape, I could have cut that in around the door handle then brush and rolled it with a hot dog roller in about 20 minutes tops.
Wouldn't have to tape anything off
30 yr pro here, just my opinion otherwise this guy is solid.
looks like average cost is $11.00 not bad huge savings in a set up time for a small Job like that, awesome
Agreed
Would you recommend this for a garage door and a metal security door?
Thank you for your videos.
I personally think you can use this... Rustoleum is an excellent product for exterior applications.. The key is a clean surface and masking because this paint travels in the air.. Good luck!
You can if you want white or black
@@Idahopainter Do you recommend something better?
Hey Man I have a Wagner twin stoke 9170 it turns on but there is no suction. What’s going on with it??
I'm getting ready to paint my front and back doors. I've already purchased the paint but after seeing this I'm thinking I'll try this instead and just use the paint I have on the trim. What kind of mask are you using? Do you need a special type for painting or will any type do?
They only have black and white
