Cool sleeve, I used one I made for my teepee. Mine wasn’t as nice, it was flimsy but we made it out alive and warm. Looks like your set up is coming along, I want to see you get out and really enjoy it
@Mobile Winter Camp thanks man! Yeah I know I want to get out too but sometimes life has us do other things but I enjoy those things too. You getting that big storm tonight? Hopefully I can get out in the next couple weeks. Thanks for watching
@@AdventureswithSpackmann yes we’re getting hit starting in a few hours. I should be camping on Thursday. I went out last week but when I tried to cross the lake to the park I hit slush. I turned around and went home. I’m going to a park further away with no lake crossing. If I find the mystery trail the ranger was talking about. 😆
Awesome! I like that jack adapter sleeve you made! I like that tent and stove. I was thinking about how you could get some of that heat that is built up towards the top heading back towards you. How about one of those tent or umbrella fan/lights. It can draw the heat down off the top and send it back down to you.
@Jeff Jackson yeah that would probably work great. I’ve seen those wood stove heat powered fans on tent stoves and I hear they work great. Maybe I’ll try it sometime. Thanks for watching man, I didn’t burn myself once in this video lol.
@@AdventureswithSpackmann lmao i did notice that and you wore your gloves lmao! Yeah that fan is a good idea and cheap too. Atleast the one i was talking about is.
It’s like a you built a red hot Christmas tree stand. I love that idea. And seeing your joy reminds me of my Pacific Northwest adventures, just gleeful to be sleeping in 2 weeks straight of rain, standing out in it like Andy Dufresne in Shawshank Redemption. Hey quick stove question. Since I’m still jonesing for a hot tent stove for fun, but being in way too warm San Diego, would building one from a standard mailbox scratch the itch? Or, would it be too thin to think of trying? Thanks for another great video. Cheers.
@Miles Robertson lol. I love camping on the rain. Almost more than snow but it’s close. Shawshank is one of my favorite movies. I’ve seen a picture of a mailbox stove on Facebook a while back. Not sure what it was made out of but if it’s not aluminum it should hold up a little bit. Man if you end up making one I want pictures! Thanks for watching man!
@Scott Mitchell I have a video talking shortly about this cot, it was posted previously to this one, “New Hot Tent Setup” I think it’s called. Other than that I talk about what cot I’m using in a video most times. Just mentioning the one I’m using. I have not used any silicon baking sheets for a stove jack. I have made my own except in the Dollar Tree Hot Tent video lol. That’s a good video. Glad you enjoy the videos thanks for watching
@Renee Gordon first thank you so much for checking! Bruising is gone. Lump is decreasing but still there. Pain is here and there but almost gone. I notice it from time to time but more time it’s spent unnoticed. So thank you so much. Second, the marker makes the video I think lol. Only thing I could find one day cause at some point I threw away all the sharpies cause they were used somewhere they should not have been by my kids lol. Thanks a lot for watching!
If you would soak your foot/ankle in Hot as you can water and Epsom salts that will start to draw some of the soreness out. The lump is a knot in your muscle so you can start to break it down by pressing on it. Caution this will hurt like HELL. Aspercreme & get the generic brand will dull the pain. A massage therapist could do this for you. It will help draw the fluids down which is what’s causing the occasional pain. Take care of this now and soon (a month) you’ll be good as new. BTW, I have 5 boys so I have a lists of all the things you should hide before they get into them.
Wrap the outer pipe in a thermal oven sheet. Perhaps using metal pipe tape. It should add a great deal of more tent protection. And make it cooler to touch
@Bill Lyell that’s a good idea! The stove jack sleeve stays much cooler than the pipe. Wrapping it in thermal oven sheet would make it much cooler. Thanks for watching!
@@AdventureswithSpackmann I saw. My issue is I don't want to cut up my lavvu, so I'm looking for a solution that can use the arm opening. Sure looked made to order. Also I will go with a wax coating soon as I did not like the chemical waterproofing. Si it's important that it keeps the tent separated and cool to the touch. You had a great video.
@@billlyell8322 ah yes. I know what you mean. In my head a sleeve seems like it would work well. I’ve always wanted to wax seal something. Spread the wax on then heat it and watch it soak right it. So satisfying lol. Thank you for the kind words my friend!

@@AdventureswithSpackmann hope it works, I'm trying to find a solution for a lavvu. Yours looks like a great option.
@Bill Lyell the sleeve really does work great! Also love how it adds support to the pipe, if the pipe doesn’t fit the jack hole perfectly.
