I got seriously choked up when Barry said he'd rather have all his brothers back and never have any chart toppers. The WAY he said it, you can tell he still feels it.
If you do "Massachusetts," please make it their Tour Live in Australia performance, because it has some wonderful harmonizing at the end that is not included in their studio recording. Here is a link: ua-cam.com/video/FuoWykVNwyI/v-deo.html
.. and "gotta get a message to you... hold on" - not sure of actual title, but the video is super-cheesy and just AWESOME -- Robin starts, Barry joins.. and well, the costumes! (Barry is like a matador!) -- just love, love it! lol -- original video, I think: ua-cam.com/video/KYkrW7YpRpg/v-deo.html
I love Robin's voice. It is so beautiful, and his vibrato is lovely. His voice is naturally higher than his brothers, and there is a sense of vulnerability in it. As you said, it's magical.
I think Robin Gibb has the best vibrato voice ever. He just made it seem so easy. I don’t know if all siblings can harmonize so well together but it was certainly true of The Bee Gees and the Everly Brothers.
Thank you for reacting to this song. This is the best version of the song, I think Robin was only 18 or 19. What a beautiful voice that nobody could ever replace ❤❤❤ Miss you so very very much Robin.
The unmistakeable vibrato of Robin Gibb. Although Barry would later become the identifiable sound of the group, it's Robin who gives you the heart of their music. In a world of often identical voices (largely thanks to technology) it's a rare thing.
A great example just how well Robin could sing, And one of the most memorable of their songs from their early, pre-disco years. Another two great songs from that era are "Massachusetts" and "New York mining disaster 1941".
Was gonna invite my mom over to watch the HBO special as a surprise. She's the world's biggest Bee Gees fan, and she only gets a few channels to save money. Ended up getting her cable and wifi as a Christmas present instead, and went to her house to watch it with her. She's now in Bee Gees UA-cam heaven.
Thank you for loving & appreciating one my favorite groups. I've always liked their music since 1966. I was only 11 when this song became popular n it left a lot of memories.
Many times, Robin's lyrics were very sad. Barry said, he was a person that could switch suddenly from being deeply sad to very funny. His voice was stunning unique, but for good reasons, Barry's done more leads, having also a absolutely remarkable voice with a wide range. And together with Maurice, they sang unbeatable three-part-harmonies. Check out "Lonely Days" and you'll see it.
Hey! Really enjoying your technique now by not pausing and speaking at the end and nearly 50,000 Subscribers shows you are doing it right :) This was played at Robin's Funeral...
Hi J, I'm new to your reactions and I really enjoy you. You have great taste in music. This song was written about a famous silent clown (mime artist), from France named Marcel Marso, who suffered from depression. X
dammit (wipes away tears) every time .....it makes it hit hard hearing this after his passing T.T (hard for me to hear that one part where he sings "I finely died, which started the whole world living"). Ty for enjoying the music i grew up with
MASTERFUL!!! One of a kind voice!! Poor boys who made it, makes me love them even more!! No amount of money can buy that voice!! Soar with the angels::: Andy, Mo and Robin!!!
Here's some odd ones by them "I've decided to join the airforce" "Every Christian man will show you" "Kirk Fenton Craise Royal Academy of the Arts" "I held a party" "Edison"
Social media wasn't a thing back then, but I feel that this song really hits home with today's social media. We need to be considerate and not use hate-speak and sarcasm online. The whole world is listening and what you say could easily backfire and make you regret it. Let's all just be KIND to one another. Great reaction to a classic song JAYY! Thanks!
My Dear JAYY, The song itself is one of my favorites from the Bee Gee's. It's how we interpret the lyrics that is correct. The song is actually nonsensical, but if it speaks to you in that way, then to you it is correct. Your interpretation of the lyrics is interesting and it's sad that what you say to others can have consequences. God Bless
This was filmed for a tv special along with other songs from their second album. Check out the video for the album’s title song “IDEA” with Barry singing lead.
One of my favorite but under-appreciated songs by the Bee Gees is “Kilburn Towers” It’s a quiet personal song about their teen years in Melbourne, Australia. Check it out!
Lovin' your reactions! One of my favorites by them that is really funky and upbeat is "Jive Talking". I would love to see you reaction to that one. Thanks!
Fun facts Maurice name is pronounced Morris. And they have 100 top ten songs, either sung by them, or written by them for others or a cover of one of their songs... Abosolute legends!!!
Seemed to ME that the joke was that he was playing with a girl's feeling. Only to discover that he had messed up and found that he did have feelings. But now it is too late and the joke is on him after all. ✌❤rose
To me it describes somebody who is lonely & feels always out of sync with everybody else, never quite able to catch up, or pick up on subtle cues from others.....
Luv your vids 👍. I used to post the meanings of songs if I have seen the artist explain them, but too many people said the artist was wrong. Best Wishes 💐
They were a great team. Everyone asking you to check out songs which Barry and Robin sang lead. I'll go for "man in the middle" the only song I heard Maurice sing lead.
Hello Douglas, Maurice's lead-vocals are roundabout twenty. For example "All By Myself", "Kitty Can", "Suddenly", "Omega Man", "House Of Shame" or "Walking On Air" and "Above And Beyond".
"Not coming off like what you meant"....Yep. That happened to me. I'm a Photoshop editor and was giving advice on a website. A year later I read my post and I thought "My god! I sound like a real a-hole" but that is not how I intended it at all. It's just that you can't hear the inflections from type. I contacted the person I had responded to and they laughed and said they didn't read it like that at all either (I didn't ask if they thought I was an a-hole anyway). Now I sometimes wonder what the actual meaning is behind some of these posts, humor, sarcasm, joke...how many have I read wrong?
Hello Jayy, you are a fan of Elvis ~ please listen to Black Velvet by Allanah Myles..a great song about the Man.. Thank you ..I would love to see your reaction🎶🎶🎶
Robin had the most haunting voice of all the brothers , always get chills
AGREE wholeheartedly. He was THE VOICE of the Bee Gees.
I got seriously choked up when Barry said he'd rather have all his brothers back and never have any chart toppers. The WAY he said it, you can tell he still feels it.
@Davitofratito I agree, and I have to say, speaking as the eldest, that would make it even harder

The singer Robyn Gibb is only 18 years old here - amazing!
Does anyone notice Robin doesn't take a breath,he just keeps singing.
His singing is so amazing.🙂
The song “Massachusetts” also song by Robin is awesome also
Love that song!

Because the other 2 brothers were heart throbs and that's what sold, in ANY ERA.
A great example just how well Robin could sing, And one of the most memorable of their songs from their early, pre-disco years. Another two great songs from that era are "Massachusetts" and "New York mining disaster 1941".
Robins voice for me is so full of emotion and soul, it's touches your soul and warms the heart, truly blessed
Robin's voice is the best
For whom the bell tolls is a good one featuring robin and barry pretty equally
Beautiful voice Robin❤️❤️❤️. Thanks sweetie 😍
Boy! Is this early Bee Gees.
Robin had 3 top 10 solo songs in Europe back in the 1980's that were never played here. great songs. All Dance numbers.
Robin had the biggest solo career.
Robyn had such a unique and wonderful voice. Love love this song.
OMG - thanks, Jayy - Robin was always my favorite - such a sweet vibrato -- !! Love him forever!
From the same era try the Bee Gees "Words".
Seconded ..One of my Favourites of All Time

Please review their song I Can't See Nobody. Robin could touch your soul on that one.
Absolutely. Especially the live in Melbourne performance.
The lyrics are heartbreaking, but boy, there are times when I really feel them deep inside.
Cool! I just watched the BeeGees special that was on!

I love them all but Robin and his voice always had my heart
They played this at his funeral. It's heartbreaking!
Bee gees most underrated group ever! Their voices were magical
This 60's BeeGees stuff, is my favorite. I didn't love all the disco stuff as much. Robin sang a lot of these songs and his voice is everything!
I get filled up every time I hear this. Such a unique voice.
I love 60s Bee Gees. Check out To love Somebody and I’ve Got To Get A Message To You
I love I've Got to Get a Message to You so much. I've never actually been in that situation, but I can feel it so deeply inside sometimes.

Thank you for loving & appreciating one my favorite groups. I've always liked their music since 1966. I was only 11 when this song became popular n it left a lot of memories.
Such a beautiful song! I loved every era of the Bee Gees they were all good!
Wow, I haven’t heard this in ages. It always makes me remember a good friend that passed a long time ago.
I love the Bee Gees. My favorite song by them "How do you Mend a Broken Heart." But shit, there's so many great Bee Gees songs to list them all.
