Tau do tend to try and incorporate other species into the greater good, so far they've only managed to convert some humans, otherwise no-one really shares a planet with Xenos willingly, with the exception of the Eldar for some of their plans.
The Blood Angels once fought alongside the Necrons (which was stupid from what I've heard), The Tau and the Dark Eldar once worked together (One the condition that the Tau sent "Cultural Ambassadors" to the Dark Eldar, It did not end well for the Ambassadors), the DiggaNobz who are humans that try to emulate Orks have control over Necron Warriors, and the Eldar will help the empire begrudgingly if it helps the survival of their species and stops Chaos.
