1) How did Reva get to Tatooine before Obi-Wan? Without a ship? 2) How did the Devastator catch up with the civilian transport but could not overtake it? 3) Howcome the Devastator didn't catch the civilian transport in a tractor beam? 4) Howcome the Devastator didn't launch TIEs or any of it's other myriad of support craft to follow the civilian transport after it split from Obi-Wan? It has 72 TIES and a ton of transports and shuttles... 5) Howcome the Devastator wielded so little firepower? We're talking about the exact same ship that literally cuts a Nebulon-B Frigate in half in SECONDS in Rogue One, while simultaneously reducing the Profundity to a burning wreck, can't subdue a tiny civilian transport that seems to have battleship-levels of shielding? 6) So the small shuttle Obi-Wan took had a hyperdrive? Yet nobody thought to put the 8-10 people that were in the transport in this shuttle and use it's hyperdrive and abandon the transport?

Yeah, one of the biggest issues with the series, and that sais alot. The fact that Kenobi spares Vader after he got told (and he even sais himself Anakin is dead) that there is nothing left but the Sith is incredibly dumb. Kenobi is then responsible for every single person Vader killed after that point in time.

Like this show is 100% trash, and i doubt writers would KNOW about this but typically whenever you DO find a jedi that is willing to follow through and get rid of the threat, that very Jedi becomes the bigger problem than the one he solved to begin with. Like, sure Jedi Council was in fact stupid to decide not to stop mandalorians, and Revan was the hero who did stop them. But that created Malachor 5 and almost destroyed the galaxy twice. The second time by ANOTHER jedi that was willing to stop Mandalorians. Well does not make sense when Disney writes it, but back when lore was solid, there would be a justification for not killing vader there and then. Because Dark Side was never really something you just chose. If killing Anakin (in RotS or here) pushed Obi-Wan into dark side - which it very well could have back in the day - he would be the single worst nightmare surpassing even the emperor, because he would have acess to Luke and 20 years to train him.

It's pretty messed up that she only feels compassion for Luke after seeing herself in his place. Normal people usually feel compassion for others without thinking of themselves. Takes a real narcissistic sociopath to not kill a child only because she thinks "but what if it was me?".
The ability to understand and share the feelings of another is empathy. But asking 'would I like this done to me', a psychopath wouldn't even go as far to consider that line of reasoning... that's what makes them a psychopath. If anything, Reva is a high functioning sociopath. She knows what she's doing, but doesn't actually care. And this little moment where she doesn't kill Luke, it's not internally consistent with what we know of her character... it's just a contrivance put there by the writers so that the old movies can still take place 😂

She's an INQUISITOR their job is to hunt her Jedi brethren and I'm sure someone in the show said they've also been hunting anyone force sensitive which can also include children. That's what makes her redemption so farcical, she didn't earn it
It is now lore confirmed! The reason Owen and Beru died in the original trilogy is when the troopers came to make inquiries about the droids, Beru picked a fight with them getting them killed.

What is Reva’s motivation to go kill Luke? She doesn’t know he’s Vader’s son, so it’s not revenge. To her Luke is just some kid Bail & Obi-Wan are protecting. So it is revenge against Obi-Wan?
@Anonymous Cheese the writers need to learn that a traumatic backstory does not automatically make a character redeemable. i write stories occasionally, and one of my villains had a horrible backstory, with no positive role model in her life. she still shamelessly admits to being a sadistic tyrant, and gets offended if anyone implies she acts that way because of her past

But Vader doesn't know Luke is his son because he only finds out between ANH and ESB. But if she doesn't know he is is son, she knows the boy is important because somehow she knows Luke is NOT Owen's son. So for me there is only two options: Or she knows Luke is indeed Vader's son, or that Luke is important to the point Obi Wan and a Senator from Alderaan knows he exists. Which doesn't make sense that in the end he let her live, when in Rebels the moment Maul find out he was there to protect someone, Obi Wan killed him in two seconds.

I love how such a big thing was made about giving Leia the holster, which Tala was wearing when she exploded behind a sealed door. Even if it is indeed made of some sort of miraculous explody-proof material, it still means Kenobi had time to reopen that door, rummage through the pile of remains, find the holster, clean assorted blood and human goo from it and still make it back for the next scene.
I love how in the final scenes they just dumped a bucket of fan service on it and called it a day. Have to be at their desk early for the Reva spinoff brainstorm session I guess.
Now we know why Luke's aunt and uncle dies in episode 4, beru probably did something stupid and got them killed cause she was a strong type b who knew better then Owen. Btw if I remember correctly THE ALMIGHTY LEIA never did meet Kenobi in ep 4 cause while he was struggling to stay alive against Vader she was running saving her own ass and couldn't be bothered to look back, and even after learning he died she wasn't to chocked up about it, almost as if it was someone she never met before. In giving Leia seemingly courageous traits, the writers seem to forget that she's not supposed to behave like a psychopath or sociopath. She just doesn't react in a normal manner commensurate to the ordeal she faced throughout this adventure. No wonder she doesn't react when her family and planet blew up
I also love how the tiny shuttle Obi-Wan uses... can make lightspeed jumps. That's THREE vessels they could have used in the previous episode to throw off the Empire and/or let Obi-Wan take Leia early.

Or did they do another one of those nonsensical "hyperspace-from-just-above-the-surface" bullshit moments? Did she borrow Varys' teleporter?

It's cool that the vessel Kenobi takes has a hyperdrive. So when they implied there was only one ship in part 5, there was actually two transporters and this little shuttle, that can take him to Tatooine really fast.

Instead, Obi-Wan ies to Reva, doesnt help her defeat Vader, runs away like a coward yet again, gets on the boarding ship putting everyone's lives in danger as he's the only one Vader cares for and wants and he even said this to them all before they all got on the ship, then to only re-realize that all over again while on the boarding ship thats getting chased, gets the smaller ship to lure Vader away from the people on the boarding ship, goes to a nearby planet to face off Vader, fights him like he should have, then lets him go which results in +10 more years of Vader murdering millions more in the galaxy including everyone on Leia's home planet. But bad writing is bad writing

So why didn't they go and evacuate everybody in one ship and Kenobi take the second ship to rescue Leia... Or when they escape why go to jabene at all? Go to alderan.. And drop liea off... It's not as if the empire could kidnap her again or the empire don't know where Leia lives!?
Reva's already on Tatooine before the proto-rebels can even escape the Destroyer. She then waits for the suns to set to attack Luke and Obi arrives at the farm like less than an hour after her. Reva can time travel guys

If you've read the comics Vader has gone on some crazy adventures and been in some insane duels. Seeing him get straight up overpowered by Kenobi was heartbreaking. How did Kenobi get this powerful despite not using the force in a decade. All that power could've come in handy when Maul had Satine just saying

Meanwhile, nobody thought to use that lightspeed-capable shuttle to get away. It was big enough to cram the +-10 people that were in the transport into it to get away... And when Vader orders the Devastator to follow Obi-Wan and not the transport, not ONE SINGLE OFFICER on the bridge thought "Hey, we're carrying 72 TIE fighters and a butt-load of other support shuttles and transports. Maybe we should send some of those to follow the transport while we follow Obi-Wan".. No? Not at all? Not even for a minute?
Reva critically injured on a hostile planet surrounded by enemies and the last ship has just left. Somehow teleports to tattooine 10 minutes later and is fine with no explanation. Star destroyer can't possibly launch a shuttle to chase obiwan and continue its pursuit of the path people. For some reason. Obi-Wan battered by Vader until he is crushed under tons of rock and earth. Somehow escapes and beats vader for no reason then decides to let the biggest threat to his ONE JOB live for no apparent reason other than he can't die for the old films. Why write themselves into a corner like this. Laughable as usual.
I honestly thought Obiwan would fake his death so that Vader wouldn't be as preoccupied looking for him and by extension discovering Luke. So later when the Emperor contacts him he says that he still feels Obiwan's presence and wants to go after him again Palpatine want's non of it and needs Vader to focus on this new Rebellion forming instead

This is when Owen makes a good plan of escaping in the desert to avoid a trained sith inquisitor and his wife tells him that they will be fine if they fight her and then they lose. I also love the when Qui Gon says “Took you long enough to find me” that’s only because Obi Wan Kenobi for NO REASON stops training in the force and SOMEHOW trained jedi can lose the force now. By the way I love the irony that Reeva doesn’t kill Luke not because he is an innocent kid but only because she has a vision of HERSELF being Luke. By the way I love how the put this as a huge win like if all of Luke success are all because if her mercy, it’s like if a successful doctor meets an old unsuccessful friend and the friend tell him that all of this triumphs are thanks to him because he didn’t kill him at one sleepover they had when they were 14 year old. How did Reeva in 10 minutes after being stabbed by a lightsaber turn up on Tattoine even though the hangar was empty and she is wanted dead by the empire? Why does Reeva scream that she wants to know where Owen is instead of sneakily force mind read everybody until she knows where Owend is? Why does Reeva leave her lightsaber if she is wanted dead by the empire and Darth Vader? Reeva redemption arc is the most weakest redemption arc I have seen since Kylo Ren’s redemption arc where the only word he says after his redemption is “Ouch”. Seriously Reeva didn’t even leave the empire on her own terms she was litteraly kicked out from the empire for being to reckless cutting arms of innocent people for nothing and betraying Darth Vader. The thing that is the most weakest about this redemption is that it is completely arbitrary since in the past she had almost NO PROBLEM killing former jedi, force sensitive kids (Like we see in the inquisition base) and torturing kids. Just because you don’t kill a kid for petty reasons doesn’t make you a good person or a good redemption arc. By the way why did the fake jedi not get back the transmitter of Kenobi even though he sees it falling and he has a lot of time getting back? Why does Kenobi trust Leia to the fake jedi even though he lost the transmitter? Why doesn’t Kenobi immediately think that since his transmitter is missing Luke is in danger? Why didn’t Kenobi IMMEDIATELY at the start of episode 5 and in the start of episode 6 use the escape capsule that has lightspeed to get Leia safe since the empire cannot yet intercept them and then distract Vader? Why doesn’t Darth Vader send immediately Tie fighters against the unarmed transport ship? Why does Darth Vader leave the unarmed transport ship when he can guide himself Tie fighters against Kenobi and leave the interceptor to get the transport ship? Why does the Emperor tell Vader that thinking of him master makes him emotional and therfore weaker even though OBJECTIVELY Sith are made stronger by strong emotions? In the end the thing that makes me more angry in the end is that thanks to this show Leia knows that she is adopted and therefore she is lying to Luke in Return of the Jedi about his real mother since she knows that her adopted mother isn’t her real one.
My two biggest problems with this episode: 1.) the lightsaber duel. I’m no swordsman, but I can count at least a dozen moments in their fight where one could have easily just raised their saber and kill the other or lop a limb off. I hope Shad does a fight scene autopsy on this. 2.) This show was marketed as Obi-Wan connecting with his old master. About what he learns and discovers from Qui-gon during his exile. THATS HOW IT WAS MARKETED! But we don’t get ANY of that until the final two minutes of the season. This whole season was one long and useless filler arc intended to get us to the story that we EXPECTED to have this season. I hate Disney SW. There is no more meaningful SW stories anymore. Disney just doesn’t give a crap. It’s all vague and meaningless plots intended to invoke hype and nostalgia. There is nothing of substance in Disney SW. What a fucking shame.
It really is. I absolutely LOVE star wars. Grew up on it, massive fan. Love the universe, played many of the games. But Disney SW has no fucking respect for any of it. They don't care at all, and it makes me so sad.

I’ve never seen Star Wars but these videos were still interesting. It’s like I got hilarious cliff notes of the whole season and it’s made me want to watch the real Star Wars movies. Been thinking that on an off for 20 years but this has settled it That terrible wheel of time show, and reviews of its awfulness, had a similar effect of getting people to read the books. I actually watched most of the 1st season but eventually couldn’t take it and re-read the books for the 3rd time to wash the taste out

Does she know he's Vader's son? How?
Owen Lars was described by Biggs in the novelization of Star Wars as a man who could take on a tribe of Sandpeople with one blaster. Wether or not he was exaggerating is irrelevant. What he was implying that Owen, pre Disney, was a hard scrabble badass who could defend his family. What the hell is this take charge crap from Beru??
I didn't see it as forced feminism or anything. They needed a place where they had the advantage and the open desert offered non of that. Both Owen and Beru were thinking and put their selves in harms way for Luke and that's important. It's good to know his aunt and uncle care about him

Do you remember when Force Ghost ob1 said to Yoda as Luke flew away "That boy was our last hope." To which Yoda replied "No, there is another." Meaning Leia. Meaning in the 10 years after he told Leia she was the future, he kind of had forgotten about her.
That goes with my theory that the writers don't know the previous movies and were just told they needed to try to work around Leia's ANH message to Obi Wan. They didn't know about all the OTHER conflicts.
This would change Luke on a emotional level in ANH towards his Aunt and Uncle. He can't be that whiny teen that needs to join the 'Academy'. For what he witnessed what his Aunt and Uncle did to protect him from Reva. He would've never have those urges to leave the farm when he gets older.
To clarify, though: When he's offered a chance at adventure, his response is, "No, I have responsibilities; they need my help and that's what I should do." It's not until home and family are forcibly taken from him that he finally agrees to go with Obi-Wan--clearly angry so as to defer the overwhelming grief. But that's not all, or even mostly, gratitude for his life being saved; it's having been raised to be a good man, with Owen as his example.
The worst part is that Vader has his own personalized TIE Fighter. He's very much still the same person who, when he was a kid, hopped into one of the Nabooian royal defense fighters to go fight the Trade Federation. Why wouldn't he be annoyed at how dogshit the gunners on the Star Destroyer were, and go handle it himself?
Well, the whole situation was pretty much an accident, he was just supposed to hide in the fighter, then he luckily only accidentally pushed the buttons that made him not die.
Wait a minute… the Empire knows that Leia is the child of Bail Organa. They know that Obi-Wan has been trying to rescue her. And they never bothered to arrest Organa and demand information on Kenobi’s location afterwards? Holding Leia’s life as blackmail? Jesus
@@wun1gee I'd argue it's a plot hole. It would be contrived if we saw how ahe did it, but loads of little convenient things happen in order to facilitate it. Here, we don't even have that, she just teleports.
The Owen vs Reeva fight was much like the Leia vs mercenaries chase... the only reason any of it lasted longer than 1 second is because of plot convenience. That saber could have cut his "stick" and his body in half in one slash. She could have just force-chocked him. Or telekinetically yeeted him into orbit.
Maybe I went brain dead while watching this series, but Reva didn't seem all that powerful in her force use. She did force throw that box or whatever at the Speeder, but didn't do much else the entire series.

Love how Bail Organa and his wife aren’t in prison for collaborating with a Jedi now and how Obi-Wan just shows up in broad daylight to return a dumb droid he could’ve just had sent there. Vader would be watching Alderan like a hawk by now. The writers genuinely want us to consider Reva a sympathetic character as if she s a victim. Anakin doesn’t justify his violence by saying he was born into slavery😂 the other inquisitors had to literally stop Reva from going overboard with her violence since episode 1. She’s arguably worse. Vader’s “using” her makes no sense either. It’s not logical.

Its a small moment, and maybe I'am just being petty...but I really hated the scene where Owen wants to run, while his wife wants to stay in fight, I'am just sick to death of this narrative in the media where all men are cowards or need the strong will of their wife or girlfriend to be useful or have agency.
I was ok with that because I think she came across as the wrong one in that decision. That wasn't the writers INTENTION, you're right about their intention. But from a logical point of view, those 2 would never defeat an inquisitor, staying was crazy.

Once again Disparu nails it. These guys are simply content creators. It's laughable that this series was written by professionals, let alone filmed and produced. The plot holes are infuriating! I think they were trying to give Reva a Vader type arch, but she failed in everything she did and somehow kept getting promoted. Murdered plenty of Jedi and innocents before the series, and cut off someone's hand just because. But then started failing hard. Failed to capture/kill Kenobi twice, failed to kill her boss, failed to kill Vader, failed to kill Owen and Beru, failed to beat child Leia and failed to kill child Luke. But let's give her a spin off because she's so amazing...

They could have made an actual powerful moment by having Obi-Wan tell Darth Vader his wife’s dying words, that she still believed there was good left in him. It would have been an actual good pause moment for Vader.
Instead of Kenobi getting buffed like crazy thanks to power of leia, Kenobi should’ve weakened him talking about the past and shit. This duel could’ve been executed so much better ffs
@@schwaaard The Prequels main issues were execution and not having the run time needed for all the connecting tissue for the story to work optimally. At the very least they told a coherent story and established a time period that had great potential for expansion. Which they achieved with The Clone Wars which provided a lot of connective tissue for Anakin's fall.
The voice acting inflections are entertainment in itself. Hearing them makes me smile. Funny that a YT channel exudes fun & playfulness better than an entertainment company like Disney. Keep it up! Thanks.

Seeing your breakdowns was one of the highlights of the week until now and I agree with you wholeheartedly. But now that it's over and my anger about how ridiculous this show was has waned a bit, I'm just depressed at what they gave us. This should have been the perfect connection between the prequels and originals. I was genuinely looking forward to this, even though worried after the Boba Fett disaster. This show was supposed to make us forget about the sequels and not join them as the garbage that it turned out to be.

Wow so once again Obi-Wan defeats Anakin (oh, sorry, "Vader") thereby undermining Vader as an imposing figure. When will Disney understand that in order for people to RESPECT your villain - and a good villain IS one you respect even if only out of fear - you CANNOT have everyone beating your villain up so easily? It makes sense that it happened back on Mustafar because Anakin was being careless, was still very young and naive and made a bad move. But here, just thinking of Leia makes Obi-Wan go Super-Saiyan and he easily smacks around the guy who is SUPPOSEDLY the most formidable force user in the GALAXY - a guy who was just shown to have overpowered him with the force and should have EASILY been able to sweep those rocks away and force push Obi-Wan a mile away into a wall - this is after YEARS of honing himself in the dark side - the only person who is MORE powerful than Darth Vader is supposed to be Palpatine himself and THAT is only because his injuries hold him back from reaching his full potential. Even so, it was even STATED at one point that if Palpatine is a 10, Obi-Wan would be a 6, Darth Vader an 8, and Luke after training a 7. Anakin's TRUE potential had he lived up to it was to be beyond Palpatine - a 12 or so - while the average Jedi ranged between 3 and 5. Anakin/Vader is a living avatar of the force itself - his power in the force FAR exceeds Obi-Wan. So why after TEN MORE YEARS during which he'd have gotten likely STRONGER is Obi-Wan still winning? STOP UNDERMINING YOUR OWN VILLAIN AND MAKING THEM INTO A JOKE.
Yeah it's all so inconsistent. In the previous episode Vader completely dominates Reva but against a still rusty Obi-Wan he shows none of these dominance or flashy Force abilities he had a week before.
I guess manbabies have to complain aboot something. In episode 3 Obi-Wan was afraid and (I suppose) hadn’t used his lightsaber for a decade. In episode 6 he was partly back in shape and after being covered under rocks, he got his mojo back
Ewan and Hayden DID say they preferred the sabers they used for ep 3 to the ones used for this show. I feel like that contributed to the clumsy feeling of their fight.
I still enjoyed parts of the show, but wow there was a lot of dumb plot points. But the thing that bugged me the most is Bail sending Kenobi a message revealing the secret about the kids and giving away Luke's location. In the same message, he even says he thinks Kenobi might have been captured, and yet still gave away this vital information that could easily end up in the hands of an enemy.
Plus, didn't Bail have an espionage network in place around this time? It was mentioned in "Rebels", "Fulcrum"/Asokha was a member? Why not just use them instead of an aging Jedi 10 years out-of-practice?
The "I will do what I must" from Episode 3 was so frigging awesome, and the ensuing Obi-Wan hesitantly turning Anakin into a torso with one swipe (because Obi-Wan is literally the best swordsman in all of Star Wars) was epic. I cannot believe these evil moronic hack plaguerists did THE SAME CATCH PHRASE AND POSE with a weak ass nerfed Kenobi. This show is absolutely terrible. These reviews are all I will ever see of this woke Disney shite.
Upon further thought, I think it's a lot worse than initially thought. When he says "I will do what I must" in ROTS, that was the point where Obi-Wan chose duty over his personal feelings. Before that, he was torn at the thought of killing Anakin, to the point he tried to trade targets with Yoda. He chose his duty as a Jedi over his dilemma, and that carried him to the banks of Mustafar. In this scenario though, it's played out as if Obi-Wan should *not* have chosen his duty. That in doing so, it is what saddled him with guilt these 10 years. And so, he made the choice to spare Vader under (presumably) some bizarre trade for Vader "releasing" Obi-Wan of the guilt for killing Anakin. This story has the gall of spitting at ROTS by saying that the greater good, one's duty to the Republic, to democracy, isn't worth the sacrifice on one's soul and mental health. And so, Obi-Wan Kenobi indirectly killed people in service to the Empire by letting Vader live, in the name of something truly selfish.
A plot hole no one has brought up yet is. At the start of a new hope when they capture Lea’s ship. A empire officer told Vader that holding Lea is dangerous. It would cause sympathy for the rebellion and senate. But holding her captive at 10 years old- that’s okay. WTF. Wouldn’t that cause more sympathy in the senate? Or is the senate okay with abusing children? But not okay abusing young adults?
I had no problem with Vader saying "you didn't kill Anakin Skywalker, I did". Kenobi walking away instead of finishing him was ridiculously nonsensical.
Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor used to work with amazing choreographers for their lightsaber battles in the prequels. They must know that something feels wrong with this.

I keep seeing videos saying “THEY FIXED EVERYTHING THIS EPISODE” just because Obi and Leia promise not to recognize each other. Like wut. That’s a terrible plot convenience for A New Hope.
That was incredibly stupid, too, because pretty much the entire Empire now knows that Leia was rescued by a Jedi at Bail's behest, meaning Bail has contact with Jedi, meaning Bail is a Jedi sympathizer and a traitor to the Empire. Reva was literally able to find out using the Imperial archives. The equivalent of fucking Google. Whether Leia ever talks about it or not is completely 100% irrelevant...
It's okay, the Disney Stans are also doing their normal "fixing" of Disney's mistakes by re-writing everything for Disney so the series can "make sense" and then acting like what they wrote is actually in the series.
Now that we have this amazing solution - why for example, didn't Leia and Luke meet? they just all pretend to not know each other later. Easy. Season two is could be great you know......

Didn't the rebel lady (Tala?) in E5 say that (as the empire) they rounded up families that "weren't paying taxes" and then the Inquisitors slaughtered the whole family "even the children" and that wasn't okay? Which, idk about you but I felt like that it assumed Reva was included in that group. So she's obviously slayed children who were force sensitive and yet - the plot demands a character redemption arch so here we are. Very convenient, yes. Very convenient.
I actually think at this point that she doesn’t know. Bale didn’t specify in the recording, he just said “the kids,” or something along those lines. I think her anger and “justice” right now is towards Obi wan since she knows they are important to him. However, even in just this episode alone, the writers keep setting up situations where characters shouldn’t know things but somehow do because the writers are writing from the audiences perspective. WE know it’s Vader’s kids, so does she now. WE know reva is injured in the chest, and so does Owen. WE know Luke didn’t die when reva came back with his limp body, and so does Owen and Beru (instead of screaming in pain or shooting her). The writers are idiots.

Obi-Wan hasn’t been connected to the Force in 10+ years and hasn’t trained at all to regain any of the power that’s rusted or refined his lightsaber work. Yet in twelve hours he performs three of the strongest feats of telekinesis we’ve ever seen (machine gun rocks, holding up multiple pillars of stone, and keeping back literal millions of gallons of sea water), and can beat Darth Vader after getting thrashed a day prior. They didn’t know what they were doing

How does Reva even know that Luke is Anakin's? I mean Bail's message refers to children and Tattoine and protecting him, but that could be Kenobi's child for all she knows. The idea of lightsaber fights between force sensitives to me was always that Jedi and Sith have a slight insight into the future. Which is why thier fights always looked fluid like a dance. And the one with a stronger connection would tend to win out
There will definitely be a season 2 of this because Obi Wan needs to learn how to become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. Reva will obviously be the one to teach him this ability and will then go on to teach Yoda in the ways of the force. You know in your hearts that they can't leave this glaring plothole unaddressed.

Well does not make sense when Disney writes it, but back when lore was solid, there would be a justification for not killing vader there and then. Because Dark Side was never really something you just chose. If killing Anakin (in RotS or here) pushed Obi-Wan into dark side - which it very well could have back in the day - he would be the single worst nightmare surpassing even the emperor, because he would have acess to Luke and 20 years to train him.

So for me there is only two options: Or she knows Luke is indeed Vader's son, or that Luke is important to the point Obi Wan and a Senator from Alderaan knows he exists. Which doesn't make sense that in the end he let her live, when in Rebels the moment Maul find out he was there to protect someone, Obi Wan killed him in two seconds.

I love how such a big thing was made about giving Leia the holster, which Tala was wearing when she exploded behind a sealed door. Even if it is indeed made of some sort of miraculous explody-proof material, it still means Kenobi had time to reopen that door, rummage through the pile of remains, find the holster, clean assorted blood and human goo from it and still make it back for the next scene.

Btw if I remember correctly THE ALMIGHTY LEIA never did meet Kenobi in ep 4 cause while he was struggling to stay alive against Vader she was running saving her own ass and couldn't be bothered to look back, and even after learning he died she wasn't to chocked up about it, almost as if it was someone she never met before. There's actually a COPS sketch episode of what happened to Beru and Owen called (TROOPERS). And I vaguely remember something about George Lucas liking it so much he made it silently canon. As you said, Beru did something stupid and got them both killed.

In giving Leia seemingly courageous traits, the writers seem to forget that she's not supposed to behave like a psychopath or sociopath. She just doesn't react in a normal manner commensurate to the ordeal she faced throughout this adventure. No wonder she doesn't react when her family and planet blew up

It took a few episodes for the Grand Inquisitor to recover from his gut wound, but it only took Reva a couple of scenes. Did she even have time to soak in a bacta tank? And how did she get off the planet when she was alone with no ship? Let me guess, Brother Ray from GoT was nearby? She was on Tatooine before Kenobi came up with his diversion plan. Did she borrow Varys' teleporter?

It's cool that the vessel Kenobi takes has a hyperdrive. So when they implied there was only one ship in part 5, there was actually two transporters and this little shuttle, that can take him to Tatooine really fast.
I haven't even watched this series but figured he'd take the Lambda shuttle instead but nope, completely forgot he could just use the tiny ship I guess.

@Louis Vanguard Yep, actually they could have kept this little ship on the planet WITH Obi-Wan, escaped with the boarding ship, and Obi-Wan could have faced Vader with Reva helping him. with Reva attacking Vader while he was preoccupied trying to pull said Boarding ship down using the Force.
Instead, Obi-Wan ies to Reva, doesnt help her defeat Vader, runs away like a coward yet again, gets on the boarding ship putting everyone's lives in danger as he's the only one Vader cares for and wants and he even said this to them all before they all got on the ship, then to only re-realize that all over again while on the boarding ship thats getting chased, gets the smaller ship to lure Vader away from the people on the boarding ship, goes to a nearby planet to face off Vader, fights him like he should have, then lets him go which results in +10 more years of Vader murdering millions more in the galaxy including everyone on Leia's home planet.

Somehow escapes and beats vader for no reason then decides to let the biggest threat to his ONE JOB live for no apparent reason other than he can't die for the old films. I honestly thought Obiwan would fake his death so that Vader wouldn't be as preoccupied looking for him and by extension discovering Luke. So later when the Emperor contacts him he says that he still feels Obiwan's presence and wants to go after him again Palpatine want's non of it and needs Vader to focus on this new Rebellion forming instead

“You have a man coming up with a good plan but then a woman takes over and makes up a new plan on her own that is a bad plan” -Disparu on Disney Star Wars. This is when Owen makes a good plan of escaping in the desert to avoid a trained sith inquisitor and his wife tells him that they will be fine if they fight her and then they lose. I also love the when Qui Gon says “Took you long enough to find me” that’s only because Obi Wan Kenobi for NO REASON stops training in the force and SOMEHOW trained jedi can lose the force now.
By the way I love the irony that Reeva doesn’t kill Luke not because he is an innocent kid but only because she has a vision of HERSELF being Luke. By the way I love how the put this as a huge win like if all of Luke success are all because if her mercy, it’s like if a successful doctor meets an old unsuccessful friend and the friend tell him that all of this triumphs are thanks to him because he didn’t kill him at one sleepover they had when they were 14 year old.
How did Reeva in 10 minutes after being stabbed by a lightsaber turn up on Tattoine even though the hangar was empty and she is wanted dead by the empire? Why does Reeva scream that she wants to know where Owen is instead of sneakily force mind read everybody until she knows where Owend is? Why does Reeva leave her lightsaber if she is wanted dead by the empire and Darth Vader? Reeva redemption arc is the most weakest redemption arc I have seen since Kylo Ren’s redemption arc where the only word he says after his redemption is “Ouch”. Seriously Reeva didn’t even leave the empire on her own terms she was litteraly kicked out from the empire for being to reckless cutting arms of innocent people for nothing and betraying Darth Vader. The thing that is the most weakest about this redemption is that it is completely arbitrary since in the past she had almost NO PROBLEM killing former jedi, force sensitive kids (Like we see in the inquisition base) and torturing kids. Just because you don’t kill a kid for petty reasons doesn’t make you a good person or a good redemption arc.
By the way why did the fake jedi not get back the transmitter of Kenobi even though he sees it falling and he has a lot of time getting back? Why does Kenobi trust Leia to the fake jedi even though he lost the transmitter? Why doesn’t Kenobi immediately think that since his transmitter is missing Luke is in danger? Why didn’t Kenobi IMMEDIATELY at the start of episode 5 and in the start of episode 6 use the escape capsule that has lightspeed to get Leia safe since the empire cannot yet intercept them and then distract Vader?
Why doesn’t Darth Vader send immediately Tie fighters against the unarmed transport ship? Why does Darth Vader leave the unarmed transport ship when he can guide himself Tie fighters against Kenobi and leave the interceptor to get the transport ship? Why does the Emperor tell Vader that thinking of him master makes him emotional and therfore weaker even though OBJECTIVELY Sith are made stronger by strong emotions?
In the end the thing that makes me more angry in the end is that thanks to this show Leia knows that she is adopted and therefore she is lying to Luke in Return of the Jedi about his real mother since she knows that her adopted mother isn’t her real one.

My two biggest problems with this episode:
1.) the lightsaber duel. I’m no swordsman, but I can count at least a dozen moments in their fight where one could have easily just raised their saber and kill the other or lop a limb off. I hope Shad does a fight scene autopsy on this.
2.) This show was marketed as Obi-Wan connecting with his old master. About what he learns and discovers from Qui-gon during his exile. THATS HOW IT WAS MARKETED! But we don’t get ANY of that until the final two minutes of the season. This whole season was one long and useless filler arc intended to get us to the story that we EXPECTED to have this season. I hate Disney SW. There is no more meaningful SW stories anymore. Disney just doesn’t give a crap. It’s all vague and meaningless plots intended to invoke hype and nostalgia. There is nothing of substance in Disney SW. What a fucking shame.
It really is. I absolutely LOVE star wars. Grew up on it, massive fan. Love the universe, played many of the games. But Disney SW has no fucking respect for any of it. They don't care at all, and it makes me so sad.

The people who write modern stuff don’t have even the most basic understanding of humans, cause and effect, or story telling.
To clarify, though: When he's offered a chance at adventure, his response is, "No, I have responsibilities; they need my help and that's what I should do." It's not until home and family are forcibly taken from him that he finally agrees to go with Obi-Wan--clearly angry so as to defer the overwhelming grief.
But that's not all, or even mostly, gratitude for his life being saved; it's having been raised to be a good man, with Owen as his example.
The worst part is that Vader has his own personalized TIE Fighter. He's very much still the same person who, when he was a kid, hopped into one of the Nabooian royal defense fighters to go fight the Trade Federation. Why wouldn't he be annoyed at how dogshit the gunners on the Star Destroyer were, and go handle it himself?
Well, the whole situation was pretty much an accident, he was just supposed to hide in the fighter, then he luckily only accidentally pushed the buttons that made him not die.

The Owen vs Reeva fight was much like the Leia vs mercenaries chase... the only reason any of it lasted longer than 1 second is because of plot convenience. That saber could have cut his "stick" and his body in half in one slash. She could have just force-chocked him. Or telekinetically yeeted him into orbit.
I liked Owen and Beru. They put their lives at risk for Luke, showing how much they really love the boy. Both of them are my favourites of the show
More importantly, think about how she can do all this while suffering from an in-and-out of body lightsaber stab wound??
Maybe I went brain dead while watching this series, but Reva didn't seem all that powerful in her force use. She did force throw that box or whatever at the Speeder, but didn't do much else the entire series.

Love how Bail Organa and his wife aren’t in prison for collaborating with a Jedi now and how Obi-Wan just shows up in broad daylight to return a dumb droid he could’ve just had sent there. Vader would be watching Alderan like a hawk by now. The writers genuinely want us to consider Reva a sympathetic character as if she s a victim. Anakin doesn’t justify his violence by saying he was born into slavery😂 the other inquisitors had to literally stop Reva from going overboard with her violence since episode 1. She’s arguably worse. Vader’s “using” her makes no sense either. It’s not logical.

Its a small moment, and maybe I'am just being petty...but I really hated the scene where Owen wants to run, while his wife wants to stay in fight, I'am just sick to death of this narrative in the media where all men are cowards or need the strong will of their wife or girlfriend to be useful or have agency.
I was ok with that because I think she came across as the wrong one in that decision. That wasn't the writers INTENTION, you're right about their intention. But from a logical point of view, those 2 would never defeat an inquisitor, staying was crazy.

I think they were trying to give Reva a Vader type arch, but she failed in everything she did and somehow kept getting promoted. Murdered plenty of Jedi and innocents before the series, and cut off someone's hand just because. But then started failing hard. Failed to capture/kill Kenobi twice, failed to kill her boss, failed to kill Vader, failed to kill Owen and Beru, failed to beat child Leia and failed to kill child Luke. But let's give her a spin off because she's so amazing...
Let's get a petition going for a series lol, She needs one mate, Disney needs to loose more money again 👍

They could have made an actual powerful moment by having Obi-Wan tell Darth Vader his wife’s dying words, that she still believed there was good left in him. It would have been an actual good pause moment for Vader.

@@schwaaard The Prequels main issues were execution and not having the run time needed for all the connecting tissue for the story to work optimally.
At the very least they told a coherent story and established a time period that had great potential for expansion. Which they achieved with The Clone Wars which provided a lot of connective tissue for Anakin's fall.

But now that it's over and my anger about how ridiculous this show was has waned a bit, I'm just depressed at what they gave us. This should have been the perfect connection between the prequels and originals.

Wow so once again Obi-Wan defeats Anakin (oh, sorry, "Vader") thereby undermining Vader as an imposing figure. When will Disney understand that in order for people to RESPECT your villain - and a good villain IS one you respect even if only out of fear - you CANNOT have everyone beating your villain up so easily? It makes sense that it happened back on Mustafar because Anakin was being careless, was still very young and naive and made a bad move. But here, just thinking of Leia makes Obi-Wan go Super-Saiyan and he easily smacks around the guy who is SUPPOSEDLY the most formidable force user in the GALAXY - a guy who was just shown to have overpowered him with the force and should have EASILY been able to sweep those rocks away and force push Obi-Wan a mile away into a wall - this is after YEARS of honing himself in the dark side - the only person who is MORE powerful than Darth Vader is supposed to be Palpatine himself and THAT is only because his injuries hold him back from reaching his full potential. Even so, it was even STATED at one point that if Palpatine is a 10, Obi-Wan would be a 6, Darth Vader an 8, and Luke after training a 7. Anakin's TRUE potential had he lived up to it was to be beyond Palpatine - a 12 or so - while the average Jedi ranged between 3 and 5. Anakin/Vader is a living avatar of the force itself - his power in the force FAR exceeds Obi-Wan. So why after TEN MORE YEARS during which he'd have gotten likely STRONGER is Obi-Wan still winning? STOP UNDERMINING YOUR OWN VILLAIN AND MAKING THEM INTO A JOKE.
Yeah it's all so inconsistent. In the previous episode Vader completely dominates Reva but against a still rusty Obi-Wan he shows none of these dominance or flashy Force abilities he had a week before.
I guess manbabies have to complain aboot something. In episode 3 Obi-Wan was afraid and (I suppose) hadn’t used his lightsaber for a decade. In episode 6 he was partly back in shape and after being covered under rocks, he got his mojo back
Ewan and Hayden DID say they preferred the sabers they used for ep 3 to the ones used for this show. I feel like that contributed to the clumsy feeling of their fight.
I still enjoyed parts of the show, but wow there was a lot of dumb plot points. But the thing that bugged me the most is Bail sending Kenobi a message revealing the secret about the kids and giving away Luke's location. In the same message, he even says he thinks Kenobi might have been captured, and yet still gave away this vital information that could easily end up in the hands of an enemy.
The trouble for me is that it was too hard to enjoy the parts that should have been enjoyable because they had been set up by terrible writing...
This is what killed it for me. Seriously, the most stupid thing in any Star Wars show ever. Bail is a complete moron.
Plus, didn't Bail have an espionage network in place around this time? It was mentioned in "Rebels", "Fulcrum"/Asokha was a member? Why not just use them instead of an aging Jedi 10 years out-of-practice?

The "I will do what I must" from Episode 3 was so frigging awesome, and the ensuing Obi-Wan hesitantly turning Anakin into a torso with one swipe (because Obi-Wan is literally the best swordsman in all of Star Wars) was epic. I cannot believe these evil moronic hack plaguerists did THE SAME CATCH PHRASE AND POSE with a weak ass nerfed Kenobi. This show is absolutely terrible. These reviews are all I will ever see of this woke Disney shite.

Upon further thought, I think it's a lot worse than initially thought. When he says "I will do what I must" in ROTS, that was the point where Obi-Wan chose duty over his personal feelings. Before that, he was torn at the thought of killing Anakin, to the point he tried to trade targets with Yoda. He chose his duty as a Jedi over his dilemma, and that carried him to the banks of Mustafar.
In this scenario though, it's played out as if Obi-Wan should *not* have chosen his duty. That in doing so, it is what saddled him with guilt these 10 years. And so, he made the choice to spare Vader under (presumably) some bizarre trade for Vader "releasing" Obi-Wan of the guilt for killing Anakin. This story has the gall of spitting at ROTS by saying that the greater good, one's duty to the Republic, to democracy, isn't worth the sacrifice on one's soul and mental health.
And so, Obi-Wan Kenobi indirectly killed people in service to the Empire by letting Vader live, in the name of something truly selfish.

A plot hole no one has brought up yet is. At the start of a new hope when they capture Lea’s ship. A empire officer told Vader that holding Lea is dangerous. It would cause sympathy for the rebellion and senate. But holding her captive at 10 years old- that’s okay. WTF. Wouldn’t that cause more sympathy in the senate? Or is the senate okay with abusing children? But not okay abusing young adults?
Well..to be fair…Disney is pushing creative methods of child abuse, so clearly they don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.

That was incredibly stupid, too, because pretty much the entire Empire now knows that Leia was rescued by a Jedi at Bail's behest, meaning Bail has contact with Jedi, meaning Bail is a Jedi sympathizer and a traitor to the Empire. Reva was literally able to find out using the Imperial archives. The equivalent of fucking Google.

Didn't the rebel lady (Tala?) in E5 say that (as the empire) they rounded up families that "weren't paying taxes" and then the Inquisitors slaughtered the whole family "even the children" and that wasn't okay? Which, idk about you but I felt like that it assumed Reva was included in that group. So she's obviously slayed children who were force sensitive and yet - the plot demands a character redemption arch so here we are.

I actually think at this point that she doesn’t know. Bale didn’t specify in the recording, he just said “the kids,” or something along those lines. I think her anger and “justice” right now is towards Obi wan since she knows they are important to him. However, even in just this episode alone, the writers keep setting up situations where characters shouldn’t know things but somehow do because the writers are writing from the audiences perspective. WE know it’s Vader’s kids, so does she now. WE know reva is injured in the chest, and so does Owen. WE know Luke didn’t die when reva came back with his limp body, and so does Owen and Beru (instead of screaming in pain or shooting her). The writers are idiots.

Qui-Gon as a force ghost is a definite ignoring of canon. The Mortis episodes of TCW specifically said he could not manifest himself because he didn’t complete his training. Guess Pablo wasn’t paying attention during that script meeting 🤣

Obi-Wan hasn’t been connected to the Force in 10+ years and hasn’t trained at all to regain any of the power that’s rusted or refined his lightsaber work. Yet in twelve hours he performs three of the strongest feats of telekinesis we’ve ever seen (machine gun rocks, holding up multiple pillars of stone, and keeping back literal millions of gallons of sea water), and can beat Darth Vader after getting thrashed a day prior. They didn’t know what they were doing

How does Reva even know that Luke is Anakin's? I mean Bail's message refers to children and Tattoine and protecting him, but that could be Kenobi's child for all she knows. ALSO what does killing Anakin's child he doesnt know about do for her whole "justice" schtick? I thought the plan would have been for her to abduct Luke and confront Vader with him and killing him then or some shit but she just randomly wants to kill Luke
Yeah at that point I can only assume its to get revenge on Kenobi for backstabbing her and not fighting vader with her. But there is no way thatd count as justice. The justice line REALLY implies she knows luke is vaders.

The only assumption you could make is that the children are Force-sensitive. Reva has information that she shouldn’t.
The idea of lightsaber fights between force sensitives to me was always that Jedi and Sith have a slight insight into the future. Which is why thier fights always looked fluid like a dance. And the one with a stronger connection would tend to win out
There will definitely be a season 2 of this because Obi Wan needs to learn how to become more powerful than you can possibly imagine. Reva will obviously be the one to teach him this ability and will then go on to teach Yoda in the ways of the force. You know in your hearts that they can't leave this glaring plothole unaddressed.
I can't wait for Obi-Wan and Vader to have three more lightsaber duels before the events of their "re-match" in A New Hope
