Exactly. How hard would it have been for him to say "you're very knowledgeable for a ten year old" instead? The writers didn't know what they were writing for.
It should never have been made in the first place, because Vader and Kenobi never saw each other again between Mustafar and the Death Star. One of the funniest things in this series is Reva’s claim of having dug through the Jedi archives. All these files were deleted by Jocasta Nu a few months after the establishment of the Galactic Empire. These events are depicted in Disney’s own Darth Vader comic book (issue #9 of the 2017 run). They couldn’t check Lucas’ lore but they couldn’t even check their own additions. Glaring negligence if you ask me.
It's tragically funny. They made away with the EU because "it was a mess", but what was chosen to replace it became a far worse mess due to sheer incompetence
Kathleen Kennedy has never ever been the creative force behind ANYTHING. She used to get Steven Spielberg his bottle of water. How she got to be head of Lucasfilm is mesmerizing.
Kathleen was a secretary/assistant long ago. Her boss said she was horrible at it. Whaddya know.. she married a Hollywood producer in short order and starts getting appointed as a supporting director in movies almost immediately afterward. Easy math.
23:35 Once upon a time, in an Air Force far far away, I worked at a secured facility where security was everyone's responsibility. All personel were trained on how important security was and briefed on how bad actors might operate. One day, one of my airman phoned me because there was a Colonel at the main entrance demanding escort. He didn't have his own badge nor was he on the escort register. He also didn't know who was leading the meeting he was supposed to attend or how to contact them. I offered to go to the meeting and ask someone to vouch for him. He responded by trying to pull rank and ordered me to provide escort. I told him that wasn't happening, secured the door, and reported him to the security manager when he continued to loiter. I was only a brand new Staff Sergeant, but no amount of browbeating was gonna make me violate security protocol. Yeah. He could've tried reported me to my supervisor or commander, but what were they gonna do? Demote me for doing my job? What was the Grand Inquisitor going to do? Murder this security manager for not allowing access to someone without valid credentials? This is a Hollywood trope that never ceases to piss me off because it's so impossibly stupid for anybody that knows the first thing about security.
@armr6 I went about my day, and whoever expected him probably wound up escorting him in. To clarify, I only reported that he was there. I didn't file a complaint or anything like that.
In Christianity and other Abrahamic religions containing the Old Testament, there is a ban on idolatry. The most popular story is the story of the golden calf. But the meaning is not that "haha, people worship a cow made of gold!", but that instead of a creator, people preferred CREATION. Is it possible to achieve a high result if you worship a specific result made by another person, and not some abstract or big idea? Hardly. I mean - yes, you can become, for example, the best-selling writer, but not the most loved, therefore people will forget you. Rowling was and still is somewhat popular, but who defends her when she said bad things about alphabet people? That's right - no one. Those who would defend her have long been angry at Rowling.
There was a interview with a 100 year old ww2 veteran who was crying saying this isn't what his brothers in arms died for (not star wars but the state of this country)
As soon as I saw Reeva walk on the scene I knew she would be "a good guy" at the end," cuz Disney isn't original. I literally turned it off when we learned she was a Youngling during order 66..I was like "I've seen enough" told my wife to cancel Disney+ subscription. I never even saw hiw it ended, that was it. Any faith I had left with Disney handling the brand is done. I'm out. I'm as old as Star Wars with disposable income. But I guess I'm a grumpy old man, and I'm being told "it's not for me" ok. I'll take my money and family elsewhere. At this point piracy is a moral obligation.
I've come to the point with anything that Disney made including the Legacy things when Walt Disney was the one creating the stuff, I wouldn't have them even if somebody gave them to me. Just to show you how little interest I have in the sequels, I do know one thing is that the names of all the characters in there are forgettable. Yet George Lucas's names they fit the characters and they're Unforgettable. Cuz I think as dementia begins going on with me I might forget certain points and time but I'll never forget Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader or Han Solo or Stormtroopers or sand people or Tuscan Raiders or Jawas, Obi-Wan Kenobi Qui-Gon Jinn, Padme Amidala, Chancellor Palpatine, Darth Sidious Darth Maul, Darth Tyrannis. Speaking of which, I've got to go get my camera to take a picture outside of a church. It's a Baptist Church that says Tyranis on it.
I had the same response. At the end of the first episode I said to my wife, "if we can look at the race and sex of a character and know whether they'll turn out to be the good guy or bad guy, then I'm done here." Never bothered to watch anymore of it, notwithstanding I love Ewan as an actor.
"Just consume product". That Nichol Kidman vid where she's trying to influence the unwashed masses into eating bugs. For a moment there I thought she was going to do like Jane Badler from the *"V"* miniseries and unhinge her jaw then swallow a live guinea pig whole. You could see the moving lump travel down her throat. Like a feeding reptile. Hollywood has some whacked out plans for humanity in the west. They're the ones that need canceling, or its, "Do you want fried 🐛 with that?".
It’s funny how bad the quality is, but it’s even funnier that Kevin Smith makes fun of the Prequels and yet he cries like a little beeotch over seeing the Disney sequels…🤦🏻♂️ like what happened to these people? Pods from space???
Honestly feel so bad for Hayden with all the press he got before the show released made me think we were gonna get alot more of Him in flashbacks. Sadly we only gotten one good flash back and that was it. If any show needed flashbacks it was this show and not Boba fett
I wouldn’t even say that flashback with Hayden is good. Not because of him, but because he looked like a 40 year old padawan. Disney can’t even do that right
I swear that if Disney never brought up all that stuff about Reva being a brave person of color and creating a safe space for her, 99% of us would not have given a shit that she was black. Maybe they should've taken some of that PR and marketing money and used it to hire better writers
According to this show Leia is much more competent and in tune with the force as a 10 year old. Which doesn't make sense because the rest of star wars canon says you need to train with the force to be good at it but I guess nah nevermind she's a girl boss so it's fine
Reminds me of how Rey is such a know it all on what switches press and plugs to pull in order to open the right doors and pilot the Millenium Falcon. It wouldn’t have hurt if she was like “How about this wire, how about this wire, woops wait up Han, this one? *door opens* JACKPOT” But noooo she needs to be a know it all.
Maybe she needed that little lady bug droid. I gotta admit, I thought it was a pretty cute design so I could see that being wrapped up into merchandising. (Where the real money from the movie is made.)
But we do see Vader meet Kenobi again after a long time during A New Hope. And that scene makes it completely clear they hadn't seen each other in over a decade before that.
They still never explained how Reva knew that Anakin was Darth Vader. She knew Anakin killed all the younglings, yes, but she never had any reason to believe Darth Vader was Anakin in a suit.
Oh that's an easy fix, any plot hole can be fixed by saying the force was involved. She sensed it through the force or the force told her or some dumb shit.
GI: "We're going to leave you in the gutter." Vader: "No. That dramatic crap has a way of screwing us over. Troopers!" Troopers: "Sir!" Reva: O.O **swiss cheese'd**
Its been this way for over two decades now. Remember, Tomino used to be jealous of Lucas' ability to realize his stories in live action. Well, four decades later and Gundam has far surpassed, even in its weakest moments, the shitshow that is Star Wars
It is truly miraculous that I can actually say at any point that I'd rather watch the entirety of Gundam SEED than any star wars from the last 12 years.
My attachment was severed the moment Star Wars was sold to Disney but I forced myself to give it chance because, where not getting anything else. The force awakens had a couple of ok moments but was lackluster at best. The last jedi was so bad I initially had an indifferent opinion at first. I wasn't sure if it was just me refusing to like anything outside of the original trilogy or if it was genuinely that bad of a movie. Turned out it was both. Never watched anything Star Wars since, including Rise of Skywalker.
When TFA came out I knew it was a shittier and more boring retelling of EP. IV... Its only difference was the sequel bait at the very end, but that wasn't even needed because we already knew it was part of a trilogy... Just a blatant as fuck addition like seeing the shadow of Darth Sidious and 5 seconds of Yoda at the end of ANH. My only expectation was that the following movie was so good, all of the setups on TFA were at least worth anything... But we knew what happened...

I feel bad for anyone who had ANY hope for this. Nothing happened in that twenty years. Nothing. Obi-wan quietly watched over Luke as he grew up, that was all. The only way this could have worked would have been showing various interesting parts during that twenty years, like fighting off tusken raiders or finding out about a gang raid targeting moisture farms and Obi-wan having to quietly, discreetly take care of it.
I heard a similar idea mentioned on another video before, and it's a great idea. Instead of making Obi-Wan a defeated pathetic old man they should have made him go on missions to strategically work behind the scenes to ensure the moisture farm remains uninterfered with, or avoid getting the empires attention. Which will involve outsmarting the Huts, getting information at the cantina, and deal with the tuscan raiders. This had so much potential and it could have worked in the hands of more competent writers and no involvement from Kathleen Kennedy.

Can you imagine going back to 2005 and telling a Star Wars fan that it was going to get much, much worse! So bad in fact that the prequels and even Jar Jar would start to look good…
@@reek4062, Kind of. Lucas made it too childish, as seen in The Phantom Menace. He did not take into account that the old fans will grow. Although the claims of the old fans were a little unrealistic and overstated, TBH P.S. The main advantage of the prequels for me personally is that there are different stories. The sequels repeated the plot of the original like it's a remake . This is very stupid. Lightning does not strike twice in the same place. And in the same universe, two identical heroes cannot be born in less than a hundred years. Justifications of this, like "because of The Force!" do not help, but deprive the meaning of what is happening, because then the characters in the world are just puppets of The Force.
This show just goes to show how much Disney hates Luke, Obi-Wan knows Luke is the one he needs to protect and they somehow make Leia his driving force.
This is so true!! I could see one of the writers just pulling their hair out over how Luke “a boy” is the driving force behind obi wans isolation, even in episode 6 of kenobi they had a bunch of leia flashbacks that allowed him to burst out of a ditch and stop Vader it’s crazy 🤦♂️
They are both Anakin's children. Meaning they are both very strong with the force. If one of them was found by The Empire they would be turned and trained as Sith which would be bad. So saving Leia at least makes some sense to justify Obi Wan leaving. I still think its nonsense Bail couldn't have sent others to save Leia. Obi Wan is a wanted man and his involvement only made things worse for everyone involved. But ignoring the shows shit writing there isn't really anything they could do with Luke in this show that makes any sense. Luke is mostly clueless about the big picture of the galaxy in A New Hope beyond thinking The Empire is bad. He says Ben is a old Hermit and seems to know essentially nothing about Jedi or the Force. As soon as he gets kidnapped, taken off world, and sees the force in action first hand his story just implodes. Leia at least treats Obi Wan like what a big deal he is in episode 4. So if Disney really hates Luke than the worst thing they could have done to him is put him in this show in Leia's place. I think the best choice would be not to make this show in the first place but hear we are.
@@jaketheberge1970 the show makes more problems than it ever needed to. How hard is it to make a show about Obi-Wan training in the desert and learning about the force and how to become a force ghost? They neutered Kenobi, and successfully undermined the character of Vader/Anakin, by having him insanely powerful one moment( by pulling colossal spaceships down to the ground, and ripping it apart with only the power of his mind?) To the next moment where he can't even poke someone accurately with his lightsaber? ( the weapon he's literally spent decades killing people with.) He failed to kill the same person - "Reva" twice in the exact same way? She was impaled by his lightsaber as a defenceless unarmed young girl, a weapon that can turn reinforced solid metal doors into dripping molten metal within seconds, but apparently it has no effect whatsoever when plunged into the fragile torso of a small child? And after "reva" was impaled by Vader for the SECOND time, all she needed was a bandage around her waist and she's fine, when anyone else would've died instantly. Apparently only Caucasian and alien younglings can be killed by a lightsaber? The writers of "Kenobi " are morons.👍
There are no Caucasians in star wars, Caucasians come from the Caucasus, too many of you Europeans don't know the difference between a European and a Caucasian. @@pokemonafrican-americanand9578 Bro, go read about multiple personality disorder, and then you'll get it. Vader and Anakin are two different personas that his split psyche created. Yes, split personalities can be aware of each other's existence, and they fight for dominance of consciousness. In a way, this is quite a normal time. For example, new writers opposed themselves to the old ones, and even vice versa - the old ones to the new ones. But the problem is that Disney and Netflix have little to no opposition. They monopolized everything, so they can do whatever they want. Besides - quotas influence. This is not only an opportunity to show that "WE WOKE", but also a way to save money. I doubt that Moses Ingram (I hope I spelled it right) cost more than any actress even B-tier. But for me, the main flaw is not acting or actress herself, but to the screenwriter. He created a rather boring villain for a boring story. Many people say that "we need a complex character" but this is a stereotype and self-deception. Most of the great villains were simple, but they worked within the context of the story. For example, the T-1000 terminator was just dangerous, but that was enough. Anton Chigurh has neither a backstory nor a clear motivation... But he is also dangerous. And the viewer could feel it. Even not so great villains were attracted by their danger. For example, Ramsey Snow is a pretty one dimensional character, but it didn't matter, because he was hostage to characters familiar to the viewer from the first season. This is not Leia, who is alive in the original trilogy and is in the series. It's not a random proto-rebel that Reeva killed.

Needless to say I quit the project and last I heard they were still rewriting the script in the middle of production and they are trying to get actors to come back in their free time to finish the project.
@@minnesotanfreedomist3147 it is a small independent production and I’m still friends with some of the actors working on the project, that is how I know how bad things are. So I’m going to wait until it is released (if it is ever released) to talk shit, just so I won’t burn those contacts.
Yea entertainment is a fucking joke nowadays. Entertainment could have real life points, it always has (rape, suicide, illegal racing, drug dealing to struggles of the poor, family, college life, etc), but when they start just focusing on one thing that a large majority of people do not care about (like they are doing for the past several years) and it's at the cost of what could have been a good story, then that's when you know an era is dying.
I really love the cooperation with the Drinker, MauLer and Nerdrotic because each of them brings a whole new view to the failure of the Obi Wan series.
This show was the first time I've ever been VERY aware of the ADR overdubs. The episode set in the Inquisitor base was filled with off-screen, back to the camera dialogue to explain stuff and it was painfully obvious. They clearly saw all the plot holes after it was filmed.
Be careful with those kind of words you two will ban you for using such misogynistic terms such as plotholes. Especially over something that was produced by Kathleen Kennedy.
”My emotional attachments was severed after The Last Jedi”. Kind of an understatement. However after The Mandalorian, I still had some hopes. Thought it would be a good way to explore the SW universe without breaking continuity, known lore or literally hurting loved, established characters. I thought that’s something Disney could do in a streaming format. Expanding and look into unknown stories in that Galaxy far far away. Then came Boba… and then this shit show. Kenobi could’ve been so tremendously good, but instead of pushing a story they’re pushing the agenda. One of the most loved characters and one I personally adored, and I can’t believe I did this, but I cancelled my D+ subscription after the third episode, and I haven’t looked back. How could they make ME, a fan born in 70’s who have played with the Kenobi and Darth Vader toys 40 years ago, and have watched the “real” movies probably hundreds of times, how could they make me, NOT want to see the ending of this show, including another rematch of Kenobi/Vader. Mind boggling and a travesty.
There shouldn’t have been a rematch of Kenobi/Vader. The original movies made it pretty clear that Obi Wan has been hiding out on Tatooine watching over Luke from an unobserved distance for the last 20 years. He wasn’t having adventures. He wasn’t running around with Leia. He wasn’t battling Darth Vader or any “Jedi hunters”, no matter how “diverse” they were. He’s been living in a cave in the desert for 20 years, that’s it. Kenobi’s character was already as fleshed out as it needed to be. The prequels spent an exorbitant amount of time developing and exposing Obi Wan’s ‘humanity’ and motivations. We didn’t need any more exposition on who Obi Wan was or how he ended up in his role. The story had already been told. This franchise is dead. It’ll be retconned and tweaked into something wholly unrecognizable. Characters, their motivations, their origins, their allegiances, their capabilities will be changed. Events and places will be swapped, entire story arcs “reimagined” or wiped out. New arcs created for beloved characters until every last dime has been squeezed from the IP’s corpse.
So long as KK is in charge, and Disney keeps their not-so-secret gay agenda going, there's no hope of we getting any quality Star Wars content again. Maybe some pieces will be somewhat palatable, like Rogue One and Mandalorian, but mostly by comparing them to the remaining garbage
So sorry to hear it...I watched it all hoping against hope it will be good enough to make up for the bad parts. But the bad parts were so bad I couldn't even enjoy the cool moments 😒
Let's not forget that in that show Leia was showing signs of Force Sensitivity, and in the scene in A New Hope when Vader is in literal contact with her he feels nothing now thanks to this stupid show. He could sense Luke and vice versa in RoTJ from their respective ships but Leia nada. This show did such a disservice to any legacy character it touched.

If only we could ride a nostalgia high into the next life but the older I get the more I think that that fixation is one of the biggest issues that people have anymore. Instead of trying to grow up and find new and exciting things in life they're too busy chasing that feeling that they had when they were kids and end up as giant children endlessly consuming worse and worse entertainment.
That's kind of my point. So many people sit in their nostalgia bubble convinced the next garbage series/movie will be the thing that gives them that same feeling instead of finding something new in life
@@powderedtoastguy8319 as a former Star Wars fan I always loved the idea of more SW content that would expand the universe. Just like the video games did back in the day. I still consider Kotor 2 one of the best games ever made, with well written characters, way better than anything Disney offered to us. The problem is: I want an expansion of the universe, not a destruction of former great characters. I really don't give a f**k if it's some new characters I've never heard before, as long as they are cohesive and relatable. Sadly it seems like no one at Disney can come up with any of that, since they only employ unskilled writers that they most likely pick up from the streets of SF or LA. They are exploiting the nostalgia (SW 7-9 was an EXTREME example of that, just like book of Boba Fett and Wokenobi). Not everyone just rides the nostalgia train.

In Christianity and other Abrahamic religions containing the Old Testament, there is a ban on idolatry. The most popular story is the story of the golden calf. Is it possible to achieve a high result if you worship a specific result made by another person, and not some abstract or big idea? Hardly.

@@jamestyler9897 like we all know what happens and he never knew leia, Disney really doesn’t give two fucks

Seriously, most of MCU stuff I have spend more time on critique videos than watching the actual movie.

As soon as they introduced Grogu, I lost hope again.

IMO. Clearly George deserved this. He sold them. He loved them. He's in more pain than anyone of us and it sucks we are along for a ride we didn't deserve to experience.
pretty sure the Mr Plinkett reviews crushed georges spirit
I disagree! If you gave away your favorite childhood toy because you can no longer play with it, and the new owner tore it to pieces, is it your fault?
@@ahoramazda6864 If they gave you a few billion dollars for the toy then you have no right to whinge about it.
@@ahoramazda6864 Georgу said that he sold his child to white slavers related to selling Star Wars. He knew what he was doing, he just wanted money.
@@yesterdayschunda1760 I sure hope so.

This uber important black woman's name is Reva. When the name Revan already existed since 2003 as a white man. They can't even come up with a unique name for her in the Star Wars universe of hundreds of bajilions of people.
The part where Bail calls Obi like an overbearing gf calling you 20 minutes after leaving the house sums up the show pretty well.
I told you not to because it would screw everything up.... but my fee fees made me do it.
I still laugh to death when Organa says I know we said not to talk but I'm worried because we didn't talk😅😅
@@antonissamp6654 exactly, I was expecting he'd say he heard a rumor that they were killed or something along those lines. Like an actual reason for calling him lol could've got creative and said the empire started the rumor in hopes that the rebels would start calling around looking for him and they could intercept one of these calls but no we got this bullshit 😂
Kenobi was made for all the crazies on Twitter. I had a feeling that when the Mouse bought Star Wars it was gonna be shit and it hasn't disappointed. It's sad that there was potential to have good stories and characters under the new caretakers of the franchise. But it was driven into the ground by wokenism.
No. It was driven into the ground by the fandom. Rian Johnson wasn't subtle about it but we did need to let go of the Skywalkers for good. Rogue One went back in time but with completely different protagonists. The new generation was a good start but Kylo Ren ruined it by being a Skywalker. They need to jump to another time, 1000 years before or after
@@williampearson6299 Nope, it sure wasn't. The new Generation was AWFUL, a god tier Mary Sue with no explanation, a former stormtrooper that got turned into a running gag, and an ace pilot who got turned into a punching bag. Your delusion will never change the fact that the sequel trilogy was awful, man.
@@palladiamorsdeus Sure they made them unrelatable but they don't have to keep them for long. The trilogy is over, start another story, maybe with blue aliens instead of humans. Take inspiration from Valyrian, the graphics were great even though the movie tanked
i remember the day it was announced that Disney bought star wars, a lot of people were happy and excited.
i was confused, Disney and Star Wars were two completely different areas of entertainment, they didn't sound like something that mixed at all. the trilogy put me off but it was shows like Boba Fett and Kenobi has killed this franchise for me, in my opinion.
Love this crossover. I’m so happy that even normies I know are finally getting it through their thick skulls that Disney Star Wars is bantha poodoo.
Hayden Christianson was in Goosebump before Star Wars. He played Zaine in Night of the Living Dummy 2.
That opening is so true.
As someone who cares about Star Wars lore, I've found it impossible to enjoy it ever since TFA came out.
''As someone who cares about Star Wars lore'' lol that sounds piteous.
''I've found it impossible to enjoy it ever since TFA came out.'' You mean ever since The Phantom Menace came out.
@@reek4062 The prequels had many issues in terms of dialogue and pacing, but lore was not one of them. In fact the prequels were the largest single injection of lore into the Star Wars universe and most of what we know of Star Wars is derived from what came out of the prequels and the works that it directly sparked within, before and after its era.
There is a difference between caring for and liking something. I didn't like the prequels but I still cared for the IP. Now...... I couldn't care less. I have my era of star wars. It's alive in my memory and cpllectoon
Amen. Everyone seems to forget TFA was shit and lazy af

Agreed, it is called infantilization, based
Find new grown up hobbies. I adore survival stuff and building huts in the woods. Kind of just getting my sanity under control though.
It's just that we have little influence on whether Disney will do or not.
@@PvtAnonymous I get that not everyone is on that nostalgia train however as you said corporations like Disney exploit the hell out of it because of the people that are. It's cheap and easy to produce since it's basically just a matter of reusing the same tired old drivel and as fans I think sometimes we have to let go of the possibility that some things could ever be as good as they were or in some cases even remotely so and stop giving them our money for this trash because as long as we keep buying into it they'll keep making it

1) We see you have a private space. We demand to be welcomed into _your_ space.
2) We demand you drastically change _this_ space to make it more appealing to people that look and think like me.
3) We find you and people like you to be "toxic," so we are removing you from _our_ space. If you don't like it, go make your own space (Return to step 1.)
A thousand times this. I've tried to explain this concept to a bunch of people, but then they call me a gatekeeper. How that's supposed to be a bad thing, I haven't figured out.
