  • Blue Spring State park just outside of Orlando, Florida is a pristine park with wonderful opportunities for swimming, kayaking, diving, and hiking. There are cabins to rent or a 50 site campground loop to enjoy. In colder months, the manatees huddle in the spring for visitors to enjoy. They have kayak rentals and boat tours as well. It’s a must do park in Central Florida!

      Yes a great park! In December or in cold months, a big attraction is to go see the manatees that huddle at the head spring!

    I just booked Site #38 in October and loved your drive through the camping loop. Definitely looks like very private sites. I truly appreciated watching this to give me an advance tour of what I'll be seeing at Blue Springs. THANK YOU!!

    I've camped here several times and love it. Also, there is a paved bicycle trail that goes for several miles near the campground, so be sure to bring your bikes!

    love the video very informative, my question is whats the best area for kids swimming thats not deep?

    • @CampTravelExplore
      @CampTravelExplore  Рік тому

      They have a designated swim area there that is roped off for swimming, not sure exactly how deep it is there, parts were definitely 4 feet but it had some shallow areas too.

      Thank You for your kind feedback, I was there in Jan and the swimming area is closed then because of the manatees. My experience with gators is that they stay up in the river where it is warmer. I have filmed 15 springs now, and have never ran into one by the spring-head or swimming areas!

    How many people will a campsite hold? Can 2 families be in same cabin? How are the ticks?

    • @CampTravelExplore
      @CampTravelExplore  3 роки тому +1

      I think yes on the cabins as they are usually two bedrooms. The ticks I haven't had too much insight on for you and usually campsites are limited to 6 people. These policies can change especially in the times we are in, I would call the ranger station to be sure.

      Camped there earlier this week and saw one adolescent manatee at the spring, so you might get lucky if the weather turns cooler.

      My understanding is that you can't swim or scuba dive in the winter when the manatees are there. That might be old info. Years ago we went swimming in the spring and the manatees surrounded us. They are so friendly. Sometime after that they limited the swimming and diving.
