This is so awesome to have, as a reference point. I can't play a lot of that shit, but dammit I want to. And this vid shows me quickly what every beat/pattern is supposed to sound like, and I appreciate that. Now I'm gonna do a deep dive into different South American music and African music, just for fun.
Awesome!
Fantastic execution
This is awesome - I was looking for a collection of different latin drum beats and this was the best video I found.
Groovy groovy, Mix of bit hawaian and bosa and jass. Good vibe!
Everything about this video was excellent. From the playing, to the sound of the kit, to technique. Brilliant!
This video should be wacthed more!! What a awesome grooves I was so impressed!
thank you so so much for the compliment man!!!
Fantastic reference for students! Great work, and thank you 👏
Killing man! Your playing is awesome to see too. I'm so bad at writing drum parts so this will be a great resource for me!
Ayo that fast nanigo SLAPS🔥🔥🔥🔥
Lalalalalove
Great work! I am more of a rock drummer but as a brazilian guy, the only advice I can make about samba it’s to search about “telecoteco”. It’s a fundamental thing for the rimshot patternn, the basic concept. You are doing great anyway. Cheers!
thanks for putting a name to it. i watched Edu Ribeiro's videos on samba, and i get why people want to play an easier rimshot pattern. the telecoteco is hard XD
@@Dyingwood. There is a great video about samba called “Como o samba era tocado antigamente- mestre Tata”. “How samba was played in the old times” .That’s pure brazilian gold. Cheers!
@@alexalja thanks man!! hard to find good resources. i mean i speak a little spanish, but Portugués is not my strong suit. looking forward to developing my skills there (on the drums, languages are brutal lol)
Thank you for sharing. I also had a look at telecoteco after.
@@zikandgroovefr It’s retribution for all the people who always help. Knowledge is stronger when it spreads. Thanks!
That’s awesome.. thank you Sir ! 🙏🏼
Wow, that’s brilliant! Great playing and technique, keep it up!
Greetings from Brazil

Would love a tutorial on the calypso beat, I tried to look for it on UA-cam and could never find it
Whoa..
Godlike video sir, damn!
Does anyone has the written partition of those rhythms ?
Is this all improvising or does it come from some kind of book? Good stuff btw🔥
not improvising but i just learned these groove. a lot of them are in tommy igoes groove essentials book. thats where akk the tracks are from!
Hey man i was searching for latin inspired grooves after jamming with a beast drummer and i think the drummer in question is you (at justins place). If you give drum lessons id be interested in you teaching me!
Hey bro! thanks a lot! I do teach! Write to me on Facebook or Instagram!
any chance you'd drop sheet music for these?
Allo
Great job....It would have been nice if you showed the bass drum. Keep the good work!
Guajira, Tarantela, Flamenco
Great point! Thank you!
No songo?
Bravo de Jakob de l'école
Would like to see your kick pattern -
Would've liked to see you improvise more with your left hand, to help your viewers understand that these patterns aren't set in stone but are the rough outlines that so many "Latin" percussive traditions revolve around.
Te falto La Cueca!
Not played with conviction or feeling, in my opinion.
All your feels are
lacking!!!,sorry!!
The latino’s and Brazilians are laughing…trust me!!! Too blanco, buddy!!
Don’t worry I forgive you 😉
