This was the winter Olympics...so not as much attention as the summer games. I lived and worked in Vancouver then and there was an amazing atmosphere.
Just a pure joy to hear her.... one of the most excepcional voices of our generation.
Her vocal control is unbelievable

I think you put your finger on the exact element that makes K.D. Lang great: freedom. She radiates it. Every gesture and and every sound makes it clear that she is free, her own person, in complete mastery of herself. And behind it is her Alberta cowgirl strength and courage. She won't take crap from anyone, and doesn't need to prove anything to anyone.

She is singing to God there. Anyone who can sing like that will never be denied entrance to Heaven. SO gifted! Great reaction! Thanks for not pausing it and really listening to the nuances and octaves of her voice. I think this is my favorite reaction to this song so far and believe me, I have seen them all!

recent sub here,loving the kd reactions,ive seen her 7 times in concert and she is just phenominal,got to shake her hand at one and all i could say was i love you,i felt like a prat.would love to see you react to Barbra Streisand,with one more look at you(watch closely now) i think you will be very impressed.

That is where I discovered her. She was fully into her "torch and twang" period and I was mesmerized both by the voice and how entertaining she was. She was on Johnny Carson a lot around the same time.
