Hey. Good video thanks! Couple questions. 1. Which door lock are you using in the video? 2. How do you automatically unlock your door when you waive your Apple Watch next to it? Can you share the setup? Does this work with airtag? Setup please, thank
Interesting video. We just dropped a video talking about light integration via the NFC scan ability and HomeKit with Airtags. I still struggle with the idea of setting off automations or state changes based on an item moving about my house...
It’s not about an item moving, it’s about presence and it being more intelligent. Motion and contact sensors can’t do the kind of things that this could deliver
🍎 could do so much more with HK than they do. It doesn’t seem like a priority for them. Here’s hoping for some improvements coming with this year’s dub dub.
Total Speculation, What Apple wanted and does is totally up to Apple. I just wish apple would make Siri more intelligent and make Home Kit more accessible for more items. I'm bored going to stores or researching websites and everything I want to buy to automate my house isn't Apple Home Kit enabled.
As I said in the video, it is speculation. But it’s a path HOMEKIT could be taken It’s not down to Apple to make it more accessible. They have a certification process. But with Matter coming later in the year then I think it we will see more devices.
AirTags are great except…. Family Sharing! Strange given that in Family Sharing I can see all my family devices and the locations of these so why would the AirTag not be included. Items that are shared in a family setting eg: car, camera, backpack could then use an AirTag that all can see within this family?
"What Apple didn't tell you..." Such click bait. Things that the tech is capable of isn't really relevant if Apple isn't using it for that purpose or allowing us to utilize it for that purpose. They aren't withholding information.
i find it annoying that siri always has to confirm i want the light off. just do it ! lol this is actually specific to the nanoleaf essentials light strip. it also thinks white is black. smh
That’s strange. When i ask Siri to turn some room lights off, she just does it. Only times she needs me to confirm is when she does not know (not sure) if the lights she is about to turn off are the ones you asked for.

Hopefully, I do think they will do something big this year
@@HomeKitAuthority They are not doing the best because they will be left with nothing to do... May be they will upgrade their things gradually..

Apple shows no sign of allowing the user defined logic suggested in this video, at least within Homekit.
Great Video…now if so from Apple hires you..by the way which lamp is that you using?
It’s called the Yeelight stadia tall lamp
@@HomeKitAuthority Thank you…just moved into my new townhouse and looking for lamps for my living rooom
Speculation indeed …will see what Apple wants to do with that but we can bet on improvements in the next months or years
Thanks. Lots of great Use Cases...

I will be amazed if these types of features are not introduced at WWDC with iOS 15
If only this was going to be true, I really want it to be
Evidence does suggest it
Didn’t you upload this first thing this morning?
Error in the video so pulled it
@@HomeKitAuthority I didn’t notice any problems Jon! Is there anything different?
The audio was slightly out of sync, I noticed it and was not happy
@@HomeKitAuthority at least you’re vigilant about the quality of your content!
Amazing video and super insight!
Thank you
What about music following me?
Good suggestion, I heard someone say this before
