Thanks for doing this video. I'm tired of paying $85 a month for shitty internet. I'm definitely going to pick one of these up, I've never had any complaints with straight talk.
Good morning Los! Great to see you got your hands on one of these been looking throughout Maine and parts of New England trying to find one. Interesting this could really help a lot of people. Really love the pixel 7 pro specs but seeing that focus at night that's really a shame. Well thanks so much for doing what you do really appreciate everything.....
I'm also up in Maine. Lookin into this for home internet as well.
This is truly impressive!!
Thanks for posting this!
I LOVED THIS VIDEO! I’ll be moving into a hotel and need a hardwired connection for work. You are out in the elements and this baby WORKS! Buying this right now. Thanks again for an amazing video.
Update: I purchased 3 of these accidentally from StraightTalk. I finally got one of them to work. My Download Speeds on 2.4Gz is 97. My Download Speeds for 5Gz is 101. Wi-Fi is GREAT! I work from home a need a hardwired connect but I can’t get the Ethernet connection to work. Any Tips?
@@chicflyposhpremiumvirginha7946 I think you might be able to connect a separate router to the unit then connect Ethernet to that router. Not sure all the steps needed to make it work. There are videos here on UA-cam of people showing how to do it with the regular Verizon home internet box. Since this is basically the same box as Verizon’s so maybe one of those videos can help you.
Nice video as always !! 👍
This video was super informative, thank you so much!
You're so welcome!
Another excellent video Los! Thanks for all you do bro.
Another amazing video 🎉
Thank you Lawrence
Great video brother, thank you for your work
Much appreciated
great video bro! waiting for the next live
Thank you bro
Awesome man thanks for this I'm sold on it lol
these wifi cell tower based interet routers are my best options for home internet , where i live i get multiband 4G LTE options mostly , but with all bands open these devices provide a solid 45-80 download and 12-21 upload along with 49ish ping and 1-3 jitter which ive found to be amazing , i like to build and configure pcs as a hobby , but i live in a somewhat rural area away from town these are generally worlds better in results vs the Satelite internet i use to have with that dreadfull 600 ping lol
"ok guys just got done fighting with this thing" most relatable thing ever
What happen???
Fire 🔥
Thanks for the video . im going to keep in the car .
These would be great more than adequate systems for people on a strict income
Great vlog
Thank you
I have a question.
I play Rocket League, and so the internet I get on my own at the moment is not ideal for RL as it is a Car Soccer game and needs to be constantly refreshed and connected to instant internet. I do not have that at the moment; I have satellite internet. Do you recommend this internet bundle for my ideal gaming? I currently only get 10 mbps as I live out in the heart of cornfields?
Would like to see something more real world like downloading a game while watching Netflix while someone else is watch YT while a kid is playing on a tablet.
While playing call of duty in the other room
I’m responding while I’m downloading god of war ragnarök whole watching UA-cam and the wife in the other room watching Netflix all at the same time hahaha
@@hazefaze8386how was/ is the speed for all that at the same time??
@@jessemeermann860while raging
I mean it gave you the speeds it claimed it's supposed to give. Another thing people don't realize is that straight talk is only alloted so many devices for the area so they do not overcrowd the area that's why they tell you that when you set it up to make sure to continue service because if you end it you very well can lose your place. Eventually when the infrastructure gets built up they'll add more availability. So for the people wondering why they can't get acess in their area that's why. Verizon doesn't want the network overloaded because they know internet users use more data than cell phone users. I had the same with tmobile it was avaliable at my address and now a year later it isn't and that's just because the limited slots they had are taken up until they build up their network or someone drops out. So yes you can use a different address but you're not doing yourself any favors or the people in your area because you're only adding more devices that the carrier hasn't accounted for. As for you being enrolled in auto refill you literally signed up for it lol. When you were checking out there were two options (yes enroll me in auto refill at 45/mo) or (no I don't want to enroll in auto refill at $45/mo) you selected the first one so you enrolled in it.
I'm so glad i read the comments before making my comment because this is word for word what I was going to say, including the auto bill. Lol
its on lte lol I'm jealous of that upload.
It’s basically Verizon’s home internet rebranded and repackaged with lower network priority. This is the “prepaid” version of fixed wireless.
Hey I would like to know how u got into the settings like where u went bc I typed that number in and got lost trying to find it
Is very good for the house
Can you take the Wifi unit with you if you traveled to a different state
That's still not too bad
How would i enable port forwarding and only use the box as a router only if i have a nighthawk router?
I like thank you so for good
Is this a good investment for someone who stays in a camper for work and wants to game?
I ended up getting this and it's awesome. If you look into this and it says coverage isn't available at you're address just type in random address I live in jersey I had to use a Texas address and that worked and it works good. So if it says it's not available in you're area don't listen to em of phones work on you're area this will too. It's awesome better than home cable internet
So if I get a signal booster would that help the router
Great video! Have you tried using this in non supported areas. Im sure it breaks tos, but are they really enforcing that?
Been working fine as a mobile unit in my car
I'm trying that now, but how do you activate it without passing the availability check?
@@daseal1479 you must use an address that is supported. That’s why this is an option for people that can’t get the post paid main network ones like the T-Mobile or the Verizon ones.

Wrong..... Wrong..... Wrong again
Lol I've moved 15 times and four different states
Lol and getting 600 + download

This thing kicks butt
And any address works
on the ookla, you ever look at the global index? usa like 22~23 on the list for fastest mobile speeds lol and like 8~9 for broadband, CRAZY.
I’ll make this simple.
Let me simplify this for you:
I bought this product yesterday and it works incredibly well, even though I live in a remote area.
If you check for coverage at your home, it probably won't have any. However, you can simply find a local business address and use that instead. You don't have to be physically near the address, but it needs to be reserved.
Booting up the product takes approximately ten minutes.
🐺 Good video thanks for sharing Brother . I was told that Straight talk partner up with Verizon or Verizon brought out straight talk can't remember which one . Any way verizon supposed to take over straight talk on 07/14/2023 what i was told. I've been using straight talk service for little over six years. Do anyone know if Verizon did take over straight talk will straight talk home internet router still work or will i have to purchase a router and service from Verizon ? Also do Verizon have good service cover ? . I live in southeast Texas and I heard that Verizon has poor service . Much obliged for any information on this matter. Stay safe and God bless y'all . 🇺🇲🦅
Great video. Everything looks okish but that 10 mb ruins a lot of stuff. Looks like they don’t make it easy to find the 10 mb cap on the website either so 🤷♂️. Kinda bs
Have you had to update the Firmware for your router yet?
When I read on it it says it has to be used at your home address and can't take it somewhere else and use it? Is that not true? It would be more to get it activated I would imagine where ever u take the router and pick up signal it should work for Internet on my devices? Or am I wrong? Would like to know to use it in van life constantly moving and trying o ind free open hotspots can get hard in some areas.
I used random address that worked and have it in My car but I got rid of this one and using actual Verizon one which is Ton better
Hamburger 🍔?? Trick Donald's??
i noticed you are doing your test outside in parking lot of Walmart. At my Walmart they have a mini cell that can produce similar speeds but the footprint is very small. I just setup the unit from verizon and they seem to be capping the speeds at 50mb even though my verizon cell can do 150mb. What speeds do you get when connecting at home?
I think they cap you at 50/6 if your on 4g and 100 is the max only if you have good 5g signal
Verizon caps 50mbps on the 4g lte and 300mbps on the 5g. Straight talk does 100mbps on the 5g.
Hey how do you get the network settings link to come up it’s not coming up
Verizon owns Straight Talk & Tracfone
Is it worth buying I'm just going to use it for gaming
My box is still flashing after trying to activate it and I bought a card from Walmart. I checked the availability for my address and it said it was good
Is it actually unlimited or do you get throttled after a certain amount?
does this work in henderson 89014 where my family its not supported at there address how to make sure it works at the address where my family lives
omg they jus started this? i want it now
That’s because Verizon uses Tracfone for there pre paid branding
Verizon has SEVERAL outlets for prepaid . . . Verizon Prepaid . . . . Total by Verizon . . . . . Visible....... they bought the TRACFONE brand
Can you use it as a mobile device in a motor home for example or does it need stay at the home adress for it to work
Yes you can
I just bought this & apparently it isn’t supported in my area. Do you know of any way around this?
Register with a different address that is “supported”.
Do you know if this uses Verizon Towers??? I would like to buy one, but Straight Talk says I would not get service in my Location, BUT I get great Straight Talk and Verizon Service where I live. 5G and all. Unless this uses a different type of connection than what regular Smartphones are using.
Yes it works on Verizon network and you can use a different address that able to get it and use it at your home as it’s not geo locked
the ping is really good.
so it looks like they might be throttling video streaming..can you confirm?
Do I have to have an internet service to be able to use this or can I just simply plug it up, buy the plan, and be good to go? Right now I don't have internet and was looking into this as an option.
I'm wondering the same, I read online that it should work fine if your Straight talk mobile plans work, but now I can't get past the activation check. There's gotta be a way to pass that.
Just need to buy box buy plan and bam it works. But I honestly would prefer the Verizon home internet than this one due to limitations with prepaid vs postpaid service
Can you tell me how to activate this straight talk home internet?
Just wanna see if this is good gaming, watching tv at the same time and my daughter playing on her iPad all at the same time and have fast yet decent speeds..
To me is good I'm getting it I have net 10 I'll be getting the $20 plan on NET10 plus this straight talk internet for $45 $65 total still high but I need this I watch movie on my tv phone you name it i need it for all the goodies.
Want to see the speed on gaming and uploading with streaming
It’s not too impressive your better off getting native verizon home internet box without hassle of this prepaid one
@@CarlosSTech okay thank you it’s just that we stream alot of channels and games on the pc
They say that when you download video from Netflix or internet video streaming to you they throttle to 1080p
Straight talk is part of Verzion wireless
You'll notice compared to the Verizon router page and the straight talk virtually identical side by side
Yes but the throttle is real its better to have verizon actual one or get it thru visible it gets same verizon priority to the network vs straight talk its throttled and capped at 100/10 after 200gb it slows down too more
Show's it isn't available here on there website , but I use straight talk cellphone service , do you guy's think it would work?
Yes. Any of these home internet devices will work anywhere. The reason why they say it won’t work is because they don’t want the tower in the area getting congested.
It's portable?
Does this type of wireless internet stay on constantly? I want my wireless cameras to always have connection.
Yes and no. No internet connection will stay one 100% of the time period. There could always be an outage of some kind with any internet type. But yes for the most part as long as the device is powered on it’ll be connected. Thing is I wouldn’t be surprised if it loses connection from time to time with the tower. Especially with rural areas where the tower is more than 5 miles away.
I wonder how this will stack up against TMHI. Verizon is usually congested AF.
Home internet is routed as different traffic they have a separate core for it unlike tmhi
@@CarlosSTech that’s interesting
Another guy said you could move it to other locations no problem .is that true?
Yes you can it works at any location but on 5G it’s 300/20 and on lte only it’s 70/10
It shows that it is not available in my area? Is there any way around that I do have cell phones through Straight
Use a address in Nashua NH it's been working today
Can you take the sim card out of these devices?
I've seen so many bad reviews about this so far. I'm going to purchase one tomorrow. I checked if the availability was good at my address and it says it is. So I'm hoping for the best and hoping I don't waste $150
Don’t waste your money just get Verizon one directly
I’ll be doing video this week for final impressions
@@CarlosSTech Going to send you an email real quick to explain my situation
Straight talk is Verizon my phone being the moto g power and having straight talk for 3 years now my cellular connection always says Verizon 4g LTE I don't have a 5g phone however straight talk is partnered with Verizon
Carlo I’m in Macon Ga and it keeps telling me that it’s not in my area. Can you please help me
Just keep testing addresses with c band 5GUW and use that
Every address I've tried including multiple in Vegas has all said the service is not available in this area, these same addresses come up as valid for Verizon home Internet so hopefully they get their stuff together
It said it wasn't available at a friend's house so I took it over and it was fine. I believe it will work as long Verizon is available in your area.
If Version or Straight Talk works in your area, you should be good.
You just need to register with an address that is “available”. The reason why all these cell towers home internet devices say it’s not “available” is because they don’t want the tower getting congested thus slowing everyone down. So basically any rural area or town that only has a few towers for a large radius will say it’s not available.
@@maj1nprince Did they allow you?
@@joshuaragon6676 I tried bigger cities and still not allowed.
100 that's it not sure if its worth $45, I will keep my Verizon home internet and get 300 down and 25 up, but this is good for someone that hates cable or you can't get post paid Verizon
The straight talk isn't available for my address either
@@ervingingerich ah snap
straight talk uses Verizon so if you can get Verizon you're not getting this. $45 for 100 Mbps isn't and if you can get ACP that knocks another $30 off it. Verizon's fixed wireless is only cheaper if you're on one of their postpaid premium unlimited plans
@@RLVTECHUSA You claim to know, but what you said was for people who can't Verizon to get this. if you can't get Verizon you can't get this
That's a lot better than my net (10 down 2 up)
All straight talk products are through tracfone
Wonder how this compares to Verizon home internet? Looks like the same thing.
Speeds will differ because of priority que on the towers used. Main company Post paid speeds are always #1 in priority. This device and plan are #4 on the priority list.
Picking mine up today 👍
Is it good?
@@MarioLopez-nt3ib it's working for me and set up was easy
@@MarioLopez-nt3ib I've had some issues with it past couple of weeks just dropping service. Been stable the last couple of days though. I'll update at the end of the month.
How much data have you used so far doing speed tests?
100gb no throttle but that’s on the speeds they give you
I got a service person to admit that I can use 20 gigs a day and not be throttled but it was like pulling teeth
Why don't you try running speed test at noon to compare speeds?
Why shut off 2.4ghz? Wouldn’t you need that for security cameras???
Yes. Huge problem with using only the 5Ghz WiFi band. A lot of devices still do not support that band especially if you have older things to connect to the router. That’s why imo you’re best bet is to turn off the 5Ghz band and not the 2.4Ghz band. The 2.4 is universal the 5 isn’t.
I was wondering the same thing and it would split up the devices so 5.0 wouldn’t get bogged down.
Now I know they are a Verizon MVNO 🤣
So you can drive around with it? That's what I need
I do all the time
@@CarlosSTech have you ever done that with the T-Mobile home internet? They told me I couldn't move mine around
Yeah, I got it on Monday just to try it out and same thing it started out really great speeds and now it's throttling at 100. Kind of sucks because the Verizon 5G home internet is only 50 bucks a month and it's not throttled and if you have a qualifying cell plan with them you can get it for 25 bucks a month. I think they're trying to take advantage of people who don't qualify for a credit check for Verizon 5G home internet or they have to pay cash to top up. But definitely the Verizon is the way to go if you want more speed unless somebody figures out a hack for this one.
No hacks will fix that. Part of the Problem people don’t notice is there is a priority que on the towers. Post-paid main network plans are always #1. Second are pre-paid main network plans. Third are pre-paid secondary network (metro, etc) plans. Fourth are post-paid third party plans. Fifth and final are pre-paid third party plans. So the further you go down that list the less priority you’ll have on the tower and thus the less likely you’ll have good speeds. Especially in rural areas where there is only a few towers for a giant 50 square mile diameter.
I heard they slow to 2g after using 200GB is that true?
Still testing it will make a follow up video
Do you still have it how do you like it?
No I don’t have it anymore I cancelled service as regular Verizon home internet product is better and faster speeds
Be so nice have it in my area I hate data caps I'm paying $78 month has 300gb data cap
It cut my bill in half
See that stupid why i got to go into tge settings and change them when they should just come that way if it says it on the box
That’s the way all routers are.
Would be cool to see if it's geolocked to that area now.
I can't get it or the Verizon post paid option at my address. Found an address( empty lot) about a hour away that can get it, thought about just changing the shipping address to my actual home.
Not geo locked you can use address in your town close by and just make sure activate on 5G UW tower site
Hey do you mind providing that address. I've been going crazy looking for a compatible address that works with this.
@@CarlosSTech what happens if you activate it in a LTE only site will it not work?
@@thetechdudemc it will work fine just make sure you use a 5G address so it’s not stuck on lte only
this is crazy, I have a verizon phone use a verizon hot spot(through straight talk) the place I live using wireless home phone which is just a small router. YET verizon will not give me LTE home internet or the 5g neither. I plan to use this box (have to put in a different address a block up and 3 blocks over from me) but I'm sure it will work. This is crazy that in 2023 we don't have the capacity for anyone to have these boxes I'm not in the country either, Im in the biggest city around for 50 miles in all directions the fact that I can't get any internet (no wired and only Tmobile will give the wireless to me-comcast wont give me the wired even though my brother across the street has them-they claim they need to put another pole up jut to get to me) this is crazy this is a "reasonable priced option" and pretty much another other option for me is not reasonable.
what does a green light mean? not white
I don’t think you understand what you were doing. The 2.4Ghz and the 5Ghz bands had nothing to do with the cellular network. That has to do with the WiFi connection between the router and device connected to it. You can’t pick and choose what network connection it uses. It will automatically choose the strongest connection. It even says this in the manual and on the website. So there’s no settings you can change to magically make it faster. It just took a while to capture the strongest signal in that area. Second you are in the middle of the city where there’s multiple towers and towers that utilize the newer tech. Try taking it out of the city to a rural area (where internet options are rare) and see how well it works. That’s a true test.
You don’t want 2.4ghz on anyways unless you need range with 5GHz you get the better speed of the connection as it has more wifi spectrum to utilize the speeds. Try it with your wifi and you will see use 2.4 only and it will max out around 100mbps down while 5GHz will give u up to 750mbps of your internet connection plan has the speeds to support it. With 2.4 you only get up to 40 mhz of spectrum on wifi while 5GHz depending on router can be up to 160 mhz but most are 80 mhz .
@@CarlosSTech doesn’t matter if the network doesn’t have those speeds. I tried telling this to people a while back who thought 5Ghz was some better thing and were confusing it with the 5G cell networks. It’ll make the connection stronger but also has limited range. And it won’t matter if your plan only has a certain speed cap or your network only goes so fast to begin with. So for most people 5Ghz is pointless and has been proven to cause medical type issues with people like migraines anyways so it’s basically useless imo.
