    Great video and thanks for your service. In my case a warning did work. I crested a hill doing 64 in a 50 on a county road, state police was very polite and gave me a warning. I am much more aware of my speed and how it can get away from me on that road now.

      And going down a hill without taking you foot off the pedal will make you speed. That was the last ticket I got in 1987. I'm much more careful now. Sometimes I pretend Frank is riding with me so I'm really careful.. I just watched a Traffic Thursdays about school zone infractions. Going 40 in a school zone in Coral Springs is $466 dollars.!!!

      Me too. 2019, six hour drive, straight freeway, no traffic, Green Day on the stereo. Got pulled over at 92 in a 70.
      As soon as the trooper approached I handed him my info and said "I was really in the zone, huh?"
      He was very pleasant and his concern for my safety was so genuine. Haven't sped since.

      It didn’t for me in my teens and early 20s. They were fair to give me tickets…I doubt my warnings were put in the system because they didn’t mention them, just gave me the tickets. I’ll give my young self this: I was clearly very stupid and always chose “learn the hard way”, but I’ve never argued. Speeding is speeding, and I was the one that got caught. Luck of the draw.
      Eventually State Farm warned me one more and they would decline to cover me anymore. Plus by then I was old enough for my brain to be close to fully cooked. I assumed if I was actually told “we don’t even want your money” that even The General was going to say “No thanks”.

    • @TheArmybrat1994
      @TheArmybrat1994 8 місяців тому +9

      @@TheArmybrat1994 Right, but they have lots of procedures for public and officer safety. Seems like they would just have people shut off their vehicles and the officer can just put them in a safe place. This way they can't felony flee.

    • @TheArmybrat1994
      @TheArmybrat1994 8 місяців тому +9

      @@J.fromMI1277 I understand where you’re coming from but I imagine they would need reasonable suspicion that they will flee. Warnings do work, it's just a matter of how much does the person actually respect the law. The people that are apologetic after lying about their speed and you call them out for both the high speed and the lying are sorry they got caught, but it's not going to change their behavior. The people who start out by acknowledging they broke the law are the ones who'll heed the warning.

    Warnings usually don't work. But I know if I got pulled over (even if I end up with a verbal warning) I would need a new pair of underwear and probably pants too lol. A warning would definitely work for me. My heart skips a beat when there's red/blue flashing lights behind me even if it is not for me lol. I never go faster than the flow of traffic. I always stop at stop signs (no rolling stops), I always stop before turning right on red where permitted (no rolling stop), and I've been honked at for stopping when no ones coming. Do I care? Nope! Law requires a complete stop before proceeding under those circumstances.
    Laws exist for a reason and I agree with 99% of them...on many of our roads the speed limits are outrageously low. Still, 91 MPH is WAAAAAYYYY too fast for that road.
    EDIT: on rewatch, I saw the speed limit is 50mph (80km/h). Didnt see that watching this the first time. She was 41mph (66 km/h) over the speed limit. Wayyyy too fast. Plus tailgating and reckless lane changes and weaving etc. If you're late, suck it up and do better next time. Don't drive recklessly.

      Most roads here are not straight lol. Plus there is this magical device that sits directly in ur line of sight while that tells u ur exact speed. No1 has ever "not realized" they were speeding, it's just an excuse.

    • @super.heraut.officiel
      @super.heraut.officiel 3 місяці тому +1

      @@verakoo6187 i guess they're too busy looking at where they're going, to look how fast they go. if they don't spot the big black numbers on the road they're looking at, don't expect them to spot the small bright numbers they lookn't at.
      btw i'm not excusing anything. but road engineering in the US is terrible. here, we make people moderate speed using two ways: lots of curves and roundabouts, and big signs that says "speed radars ahead"

    the problem with this...
    Why didnt Frank just pull her over the moment she committed a crime?
    By chasing her and watching her, Officer Frank essentially became part of the crime by allowing a crime to continuously occur under his watch as a law enforcement officer.
    by allowing the chase to persist, he increased the danger onto bystanders, potentially children, and only apprehended the driver, once the driver reached 90+ mph.
    That is literally a co-conspirator charge of crime, AND all this was captured on his camera, body cam, and traffic cameras.
    just imagine if the driver ended up killing another driver, the law enforcement officer could have prevented such scenario, but didn't, why? because he wanted to rack up as many criminal violations as possible rather than prevent further increased danger onto others by pulling them aside immediately. (racking up violations will look great on his record, when he wants to receive promotions. less about safety of the general public)
