If I got pulled over by a deputy carrying 1x firearm, 1x taser, and 10x pens, I would know immediately that this guy means business, and that I am 100% getting a ticket 😂 thanks for what you do Deputy Sloup! We need more public servants like you
Rumor has it Frank initially carried one pen. It ran out of ink and he was unable to complete a citation and have it signed. Never again. Ten pens in the vest from that moment on.
Great video and thanks for your service. In my case a warning did work. I crested a hill doing 64 in a 50 on a county road, state police was very polite and gave me a warning. I am much more aware of my speed and how it can get away from me on that road now.
And going down a hill without taking you foot off the pedal will make you speed. That was the last ticket I got in 1987. I'm much more careful now. Sometimes I pretend Frank is riding with me so I'm really careful.. I just watched a Traffic Thursdays about school zone infractions. Going 40 in a school zone in Coral Springs is $466 dollars.!!!
Michigan needs officers like these. Any big city in Michigan is a complete free for all and tailgating, speeding and violent driving is not stopped at all. It's terrible.
Me too. 2019, six hour drive, straight freeway, no traffic, Green Day on the stereo. Got pulled over at 92 in a 70. As soon as the trooper approached I handed him my info and said "I was really in the zone, huh?" He was very pleasant and his concern for my safety was so genuine. Haven't sped since.
It didn’t for me in my teens and early 20s. They were fair to give me tickets…I doubt my warnings were put in the system because they didn’t mention them, just gave me the tickets. I’ll give my young self this: I was clearly very stupid and always chose “learn the hard way”, but I’ve never argued. Speeding is speeding, and I was the one that got caught. Luck of the draw. Eventually State Farm warned me one more and they would decline to cover me anymore. Plus by then I was old enough for my brain to be close to fully cooked. I assumed if I was actually told “we don’t even want your money” that even The General was going to say “No thanks”.
Miami needs a few dozen Franks. All people do is fly, tailgate, flash brights, cut off, illegally merge. All the police are too busy sitting in the middle of the road in Coral Gables during low-activity hours and handing out tickets for illegal left turns that aren’t actually illegal
Coral gables is patrolled exclusively by coral gables police (yes, metro a FHP can also usually don’t) You missed that in all the other areas Miami, Hialeah etc the cops are busy protecting Dunkin’ Donuts, 7-eleven etc
Frank. You are one of the good ones. Question: why is it not procedure to make people shut off their vehicles and hand officers their keys at all times during a traffic stop?
@@TheArmybrat1994 Right, but they have lots of procedures for public and officer safety. Seems like they would just have people shut off their vehicles and the officer can just put them in a safe place. This way they can't felony flee.
@@J.fromMI1277 I understand where you’re coming from but I imagine they would need reasonable suspicion that they will flee. It may be a privilege to drive but the car is still property of the owner and taking anything out of the car like that could be seen as a 4th amendment violation. Not something I myself would want to test.
Seizing a person's keys would violate their 4th Amendment right for a simple traffic stop. Could be argued if the stop is criminal in nature, but not for every traffic stop.
Warnings do work, it's just a matter of how much does the person actually respect the law. The people that are apologetic after lying about their speed and you call them out for both the high speed and the lying are sorry they got caught, but it's not going to change their behavior. The people who start out by acknowledging they broke the law are the ones who'll heed the warning.

Because the deputies are allowed discretion whether someone goes to jail or not for criminal speeding. He tells them that so they know the gravity of the situation
Because they committed a criminal offense and they are not free to leave at that point. Officers don't have to put handcuffs on people to say they're under arrest.
