  • In this video I'll be unboxing and testing out a Battery Powered Portable Airbrush known as the Ribo-30 or the I-BEAUTEE on amazon. These airbrush units are an incredibly innovative idea making the airbrush something you can now take anywhere without being limited by a large/heavy compressor. We will be testing this particular unit which at the time of publishing the video has the highest output of air with a very consistent airstream.
This is a great solution for anyone having to paint on the move or anyone looking to get started airbrushing without having to spend lots of money on a separate compressor, air lines, fittings and airbrush. Weather your painting miniatures, art, tattoos or even make up this unit is a good solution for those looking for a simple and easy to use set up.
Here are the different sections of the video if you'd like to see something specific:

Just ordered one to mess around with my train layout tracks, perfect. Thanks for this cool video.

No problem 👍 I think this airbrush would be perfect for your train layouts, just thin your paints out so they'll flow through the airbrush nicely and you'll get some really nice gradients.

I bought one, actually two, the first one was very asthmatic but this seems OK!

I really like this, but wish they took replaceable 18650 batteries. That way you could have several batteries and just swap them out as needed. Plus, there are nice external chargers that can test and maintain your batteries.

Yeah I agree, having to stop every hour to recharge is a pain and swapable batteries would make it far more portable. They also glue these together so you can't even access the batteries without damaging it. Swapable batteries and more pressure adjustment would make this an awesome product.

Would have liked you to pressure test the low pressure setting aswell.

I did check it off camera out of curiosity and the result was the same but just a bit slower to build the pressure. The button affects the air air delivery rate but not the pressure it is able to build up if that makes sense.

I originally bought mine as a back up to my compressor incase that plays up sometimes but I was certainly impressed with it when I first got it and painted the shoes so now I use it for all the small jobs that are not worth pulling out the compressor for. There is a more powerful version which has 30psi but comes with a really cheap airbrush, the one in this video is not bad and with some tuning could be a really good airbrush.
I also had a chat with the manufacturer and they are currently developing one with adjustable air pressure for artists but would not tell me when they plan to release it, probably later this year I'm expecting.

So I’m debating to buy a cordless airbrush so I’m googling and doing some second hand research before I make my final decision and this also look exactly like Autolock Airbrush. Both product does seems to work well. I guess I can try to find the actual unbranded Chinese product out there for a cheaper price than the “branded” product.

The unit in the video is the Metu-30 I-BEAUTEE model which was the first one to come out but after that they also sold it as Autolock, Bilmax and spraygunner have a version called no-name.
Its a bit confusing but they are all the same and made by the same manufacturer. They are surprisingly good for what they are and I got some good use out of mine.

Don't. The Funnel system, which is toted as one of the best on Newtype burnt my hand and dam near just exploded on me, because the compressor got stuck on and wouldn't turn off. I had to rip out the power leads from the battery to make it stop before the battery exploded due to overheating. I had only used it for a total run time of maybe 4 hours in 2 months when this happened.

Avoid these things at all cost. I GOT THE Funnel USB airbrush from Newtype 2 months ago. Used it on a SD kit, and got 3/4 finished with a kitbash before it had a catastrophic failure and burned my hand. Mid use, the compressor wouldn't shut off like its suppose to when you release the trigger. Because of this the unit started heating up. After a few minutes of trying to get it to shut off (even detached the airbrush) it burnt my hand. After grabbing some gloves I managed to pry the base plate off and get to the circuit board inside. I tried to disconnect the power leads, but the idiots that manufactured it GLUED the quick connect shut, so I had to rip the leads out before the battery exploded due to excessive heat.
Do not buy these devices. All of them are the same design and manufactured in China with extremely low quality control standards.

Geez that is horrible, thanks for sharing that. Your right about the build quality, when I dropped mine it broke and exposed all of the glued components inside. Despite the different design of the casing I am sure all of these have same/similar cheap components inside. Definetly something to be aware of and i am suprised to hear yours got hot enough to burn your hand!
