The AT Shades also has brushed outer bracelet links. The new black dial ATs are essentially identical to the Shades releases apart from the dial color.
- I love that Omega hasn’t forgotten about the Aqua Terra. Gloss black dial is great. I wish they’d make one with an all-brushed version. I tend to favor the smaller 38mm size even though my wrist size can do 41mm fine. High quality things in smaller sizes just appeals to me.
It’s a great looking watch. I’ve got the blue teak dial 38 mm flat link version and I hope the new bracelet with the microadjustment will fit on my Aqua Terra.
I owned the first edition of the omega Aqua terra black dial 39mm automatic watch. These new versions are nice. But to me they seem to be more a dress watch. Tho older models were more brushed steel/ less shiny and more adaptable to wear on different occasions. I will have to see one in the AD to get a better idea.
Really nice. Shame about prices but there you go. My black 39mm dial (first generation) was £2700 only last year... so I'm finding this hard to justify. I think I'll get the Longines Spirit 37mm instead. But yes Omega is great
I tried the 38mm gloss black dial watch on at my local boutique over the weekend, and it's a very nice watch. Definitely on my shortlist. It's even better looking in person, the handset and applied logo look even better than in the photos..
It does, but don't you think it looks too polished? I would have preferred more variety in the overall case and bracelet finishing. It looks too blingy.
I bought my first luxury watch as the Aqua Terra in 2023. It’s a beautiful watch but with the bracelet it was top heavy so I put a Artem strap on and it’s just fine. I didn’t have any problems with my Rolex submariner Starbucks. That watch has no issues……
I like this move from Omega but the 41 is still too thick at over 13mm. I sold mine and bought a datejust. The datejust is a slimmer more elegant watch IMO. The new AT does look great though
Best AT for a while, agreed. But. Why are the different sizes with different movements the same price? The 8800 movement is fine, but it's simply less sophisticated than the 8900 so shouldn't be the same price. Not sure how Omega justify's this. But price and weak lume gripes aside, the 38mm seems a nice watch - it will be interesting to see the lacquer up close. I hope they now ditch the teak dial's deal-breaker bracelet for something brushed and properly adjustable, making it a genuine GADA/sports alternative to the smarter shades/black.
They nailed it in my opinion. Looks awesome ! The ultra deep planet ocean bracelet/coffin clasp is just incredible hopefully that makes it to something else more rational like the overdue planet ocean re-do. Maybe in 2030 😅
I wanted to love my Aquaterra day date but the high polish center links scratched just looking at them, and it was so thick on wrist. It went away and a Seamaster 2255.80 replaced it and I wear it on the bracelet, nato or a tropic rubber strap and the thickness of the 2255.80 is perfect.
Absolutely love my Olive green41mm mk3 (2017+) my most complimented watch & a keeper for sure. Just wish Omega would hurry up with the release of the new Seamaster professional.
Tbf I like the black gloss 41. Micro adjust is welcomed but the bracelet should be more tapered. And the alternatives are the DJ or Explorer 40 & I’d pick either of these Rolex models over the AT every time…
I think at the price they are I’d prefer the 40mm explorer with the gloss back dial and no date complication.. I think it’s a more tooly do it all watch and roughly the same cost. That could be my one watch as I approach my more senior years too I feel.
DJ 36 seems to be so much more refined watch compared to AT 38. Inside-out, as well as the bracelet and clasp. And it will not lose 30% value as soon as you leave the AD.

The rolex is a tad more comfortable but I'm not a massive fan of polished links...too easy to scuff up and a little too flash. The butterfly clasp is easy to use, it has a nice seemless design. A little gutted about the butterfly clasp not being shortened and the microadjustment being so hideous for the price of this watch. OP36/DJ36 still worth the wait and price over this. What a shame because that dial is ravishing.

I was trying some Aqua terras on last week in the Birmingham boutique and the manager did mention about a black version coming out, I tried on the 38mm red shades Aqua terra and have to say it looked perfect on my 7 inch wrist and the redesigned bracelet was nice too, it’s good to see Omega have finally listened to its customer base and put a micro adjustment on the clasp, let’s hope it’s a sign of good things to come from the brand.
I have the aqua terra. - the hands suck. Impossible to see time at night because the aero Hans land on indices and are not distinguishable. Same size and place
Biggest and perhaps the only problem this watch has? Identity. But to me, it's a biggie. Because it doesn't say 'Submariner' on the front of an 'Explorer' now does it? And as such, the watch has an identity of it's own whereas the AQ is simply lumped in with God knows how many other Seamasters. And what do you think of when you think of a Seamaster? Yep. That's right. The 300SMP. I own both Rolex and Omega...but I'm not paying 6 grand for a watch that doesn't even have it's own name on the dial and as such a lack of identity.

I have a lot of watches but that memory still sticks out. I think the only other time I felt that way was with the JLC MC Geographic.
I find this boring. Also I hope for the SMP300 they keep the current bracelet style but update it. Because that suits the watch and I don't think a simpler looking one would suit it.
Can't stand those tiny, pointless date windows on everything Omega makes now, even on supposedly dress offerings. They cheapen their watches. Hi, I'd like to discuss this further. I've recently transitioned from smartwatches to mechanical watches and am now considering this AT, primarily because it has a date window-something I really wish my current watch had. The AT would likely become my only watch (at least for couple of years :D), and I don't think I'd buy it without the date function. However, I'm curious why some people view the date window as a drawback. Could you shed some light on that?
